Thomas Brewer, first Clerk in the department of the Muster Master's General since 1781, at £. 200 per annum, was appointed agent for transmission of deserters, in succession to Mr. Tickell, the late agent, from 15th December 1819, at the net income of £. 94 10 s. per year. THERE never has been any specific allowance in the former office of the Judge Advocate General, nor since, in the office of the Deputy Judge Advocate General for Ireland, for a clerk or clerks, and consequently no specific appointment. An allowance of £. 100 per annum was made to the Judge Advocate General, and has been continued to the Deputy Judge Advocate General, for office fuel, candles, stationery, postage, and clerk, out of which I pay, to the person whom I employ as clerk, a sum of £. 52 per annum.
