The great increase of Fever in the years 1817, 1818, 1819, required additional medical aid, and caused additional expense. The Surgeon, besides his salary, receives one guinea as accoucheur, for each birth. The Collector was formerly paid a Salary he now receives a per- centage ou tils Collection. In the years 1815, 1816, 1817 and 1818, a sum of £. 8,770. 12. 3 A. was expended in buildiug a new Hospital, containing 8 wards, capable of accommodating 100 Patients; and in 1819, a Laundry was completed at an expense of £. 1,919. 3. o. towards which the Inhabitants of Dublin contributed £. 1,260. 15. lof.
