( 169 ) THE Freeholders of the City and the County of the City of Lincoln, not having under the City Charter any right of voting at Elections for Representatives of the City, held a Public Meeting immediately before the County Flection, for the purpose of endeavouring to obtain the right of voting at the Election of the County Representatives; and upon application being made to Mr. Serjeant Heywood, the Sheriff's Assessor, he gave his opinion that they had no right to vote; the following Free- holders, nevertheless, tendered their votes to the Sheriff, upon an engage- ment on his part that a memorandum should be made at the foot of the Poll of their having so tendered, and of their votes being rejected.
