THE Editor and Publisher, in presenting to the Public this digested Copy of the Poll of the County, hopes there are not many errors for which he should apologize. Those that will be found in the spelling of Freeholders' names, must be ascribed to the Clerks who took the Poll— Many such he has corrected ; and, as the arrangement is by parishes, those that remain will not be found to be of much consequence. IN the Index, it will be seen that he has taken some pains to make the Book useful; the information it conveys was not promised in his Proposals, and has caused him an additional ex pence ; it is, however, gratuitous, and he flatters himself will prove acceptable to the County. THE Speeches having been already published in the Newspapers, have not much interest at this time; but to pos- terity they will exhibit an accurate view of the present state of parties in the County. As much of them is re- published as will serve that design ; to Lave given the whole would not have added to the interest of the Book, but would have con ® siderably increased the expence of the Publication.
