Return of the number of Persons confined in the different Houses of Correction in the County of Lancaster, since the 17th May last up to the present time, under the Game Laws ;— viz. House of Correction, Preston 20 1)° Salford - - - j6_ Total - - - 45 Preston, 21st March 1817. E. Gorst, Clerk of the Peace. 22.— LEICESTER. Account of the Persons who have been committed since the 17th of May 1816, to the House of Correction and the Borough Gaol, for Offences against the Game Laws;— viz. NAME S. When Committed. George Storer John Harrison Thomas Hurt Richard Morgan The Nature of the Offence. For what Time committed. In the House of Correction: 18th T) cc. - 1816 rth Jan. - 1817 nth March 1817 For having in his custody"! ; ind possession a Hare, lie not being qualified - - J For being found in a plan- tation in the night, having a gun for the purpose of killing Pheasants For keeping and using a snare to kill and de- stroy Game, he not being qualified - I11 the Borough Gaol: 7 th March 1817 For keeping and having in Ills possession certain snares to kill and destroy Game, he not being duly qualified - For three months. I Have examined the Records for the Parts of Holland, Lincoln, but do not find any Return to make of the number of Persons who have at any time since the 17th May last, jjCen in confinement, for Offences against the Game Laws. The Parts of Kesteven : An Account of the number of Persons who have at any time since the 17th day of May last, been in confinement in the House of Correction for the said Parts, for Offences against the Game Laws;— viz. - - - Seven. B. Cheales, iSth March 1S17. Clerk of the Peace for the said Parts.
