A Return of the number of Persons who now are, and who have at any time since the 27th day of May last, been in confinement in the Gaol of the County of Stafford, for Offences against the Game Laws. Number now in confinement - - - - - - - 12 Number who have been in confinement at any time since the 27th. day of May last - -- -- -- -- 63 1 March 1817. Thomas Kirkpatrick Hall, Sheriff. 35.— SUFFOLK. There are Twenty- six Persons now, and since the 17th May last have been, in confinement, for Offences against the Game Laws. T • , Rt Harland, 3 March 1817. High Sheriff of Suffolk. 36.— SUSSEX. Six Persons have been committed to the Gaol of this County, for Offences against the Game Laws, since the 17th day of May 1816. = i4, Lincoln's- Inn Fields, ^ ' 1 r. SIlPVI March 7, 1817. Sheriff. 37.— WARWICK. An Account of all Persons who have been, and now are, in confinement in the Gaol of the said County, for Offences against the Game Laws, since 17th May 1816; viz. 1. Simeon Ludford . . . Committed 28th October 1816, for being found in a field in the parish of Baddesley Ensor, in this County, in the night of 27th October last, with gate nets and a dog, with intent to destroy Game, & c. :— Indicted and tried at Epiphany Sessions 1817, and acquitted. • i. William Brookes. . . Committed 30th November 1816, for having been found in a certain field at Comb Fields in this County, on 20th November last, with sundry nets and dogs for the destruction of Game, & c.;— Indicted and tried at Epiphany Sessions 1817, and convicted and sentenced to twelve calendar months imprisonment in gaol. 3. Samuel Marriott . . . Committed to the House of Correction at the same time for the same Offence :— Tried with Brookes, and convicted and sentenced to six calendar months imprisonment in gaol, & c. 4. John Cooper Committed 3d February instant, for being found in the night of 9th January last, in the hamlet of Balsall, with nine nets in his pos- session, with intent to kill and destroy hares, & c.:— To be indicted and tried at the ensuing Lent Assizes. [ have not had in my custody any other prisoners, except the above, since 17th INI ay 1816, last past. As witness my hand, the 22d day of February 1817. Warwick Gaol, Henry Tatnall, 22d February 1817. Gaoler. 38.— WESTMORLAND. There is only one person now confined in His Majesty's Gaol at Appleby, in and for the said County, for an Offence against the Game Laws; viz. Charles Airey, committed 011 the 3d day of .1 une last, " for refusing to pay a penalty of £. 15 for using a dog and a gun for " the purpose of taking and killing Game." Appleby, 26th February 1817.
