My Lords, As it appears to my Lords Commiffioners of the Treasury necessary for the safety of the Public Revenue, to have a minute enquiry entered on respecting the Securities of the prefent Deputy Postmasters, I have their Lordihips commands to request you will direct immediate and exaft enquiry to be made into the exiftence and sufficiency of the Securities of all the Deputy Poftmullers in your Department, and particularly as to their being possessed of pro- perty not under entail, without which their Lordships think it impossible their Security can be deemed fisfficient. The Examination of Mr. EDWARD DEJONCOURT; taken upon Oath, the 21ft day of June 1809. This Examinant faith, That he contrafts with the Poftmafters General to convey exprefles to Balbriggan, Dun- fhaughlin, Naas, Kilcock, and Wicklow, for which he is allowed 35 guineas a quarter; he has held this contra£ t about three years } he keeps both men and horfes for this purpofe, and always has a fulRcient number in readinefs. Examinant has fometimes had eight or nine horfes out upon Exprefs duty at the fame time. Fees on Office Exprefles, Iriffi Newfpapers for the Poftmafters General, and Ir ffi INewfpapers for the ufe of the Office. 1 he fee on Office ExprclTs is a perquifite of Examinant on Exprefles fent by the Poll Office.
