Firft Clerk.— The duty of this Officer, is to keep an Account daily of the number of Letters from the General Office for weekly to the Treafurer. To keep an Account of the number of all Letters put into the Receiver, Receiving- houfes and Poft- , an3 lotted to the Letter Carriers, to receive the Letter Carriers charges, and to make out the Accounts Quarterly. Second and Third Clerk.— The duty of thefe Officers, is to attend the General Office every Morning at 7 o'clock, to receive them with the day of the month, to put on each Letter an additional Poftage of one Penny, to fort them to the Letter Carriers, to from Receivers, Receivin^ houfes and Poft- paid Window, with the day of the month, and fort them to the Letter Carriers ; to receive all Letters put into the Receiver, Receiving- houfes and Poft- paid Window, to ftamp them to the Letter Carriers. Thompson Stephen Draper Commission. - Do. - Pleafure. - Do. - Perfon. - Do. • 60 The duty of the Solicitor is to commence, carry on and defend all Aftions that concern the Poft Office Revenue, to conduit , of the Post Office. To pay all rewards for Convictions for fuch Offences, to Draft all Mail Coach Contrads, and Acts of Par- business relative to the Establishment. To write Letters to all Deputy Poftmafters in arrear, and to their Sureties, at the end of all matters submitted to him for that purpose, and to attend at the Poft Office as often as required by the Postmasters General. It cumstances of all Persons tendered as security for Deputy Poftmafters, Letter Sorters, Letter Carriers and Mail Guards, and to fill custody of those Bonds, and the Mail Coach Contracts, and all the Records relating to the Law Department of the Post Oftice. tor's Department of the Post Office, being always liable and obliged to be ready when called upon, or fent for to attend the Poft- > MESSENGERS.
