Gentlemen, Accountant General's Office, ift Sept. 1809. HAVING received dire& iom from tlie Secretary of the General Poft Office, to return an Account conformably to your Precept of 17th July 1809 ; " of the Ealances due by deceafed and difmiffed " Deputies or Riding Surveyors put in charge of Offices, fpecifying the Post Town, name of Deputy and *' Surveyor, and when the Balance accrued," and having fince had the honour of a perfonal Communi- cation with your l- oard on the Subjcft, I deem it my duty to ftate to you, that the Information required by the Accountant General of the Poft Office, to enable him to make fuch Return, not having been furnished to him as yet from the proper Officer, and the fubjeft being now under a minute Tnveftiga- tioii, the Accountant General, on obtaining the neceffary Information, will lofe 110 time in laying- the Return called for before the Commissioners of Enquiry.
