At the Court at the Queen's Palace, the 18th of October 1809, PRESENT, The KINC'S Most Excellent Majesty in Council. Whereas it has been represented to his Ma- jesty, in Council, that in his Majesty's order in Council of the 5th of April 1805, appointing the places for the performance of quarantine by ships and vessels bound to the several ports of this kingdom, Highlake, near Liverpool, is pre scribed as the place for the performance of qua- rantine by vessels arriving at the port of Liver- pool, liable thereto ; but that Bromborougl Pool has been found, on a careful inquiry re- cently made, to be a safer and more convenient place for the performance thereof j his M;; jes Price Sixpence Halfpenny, ty is therefore pleased, with the advice of his Privy Council, to order, as it is hereby ordered, that all such ships or vessels as are or shall be bound to the port of Liverpool, or any creek or place belonging to or within the said port, from any place or places from whence quarantine is required to be performed, shall in future per- form their quarantine in Brom'oorough Pool, instead of Highlake : And the Right Honour- able the Lords Commissioners of his Majesty's Treasury, and the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty, are to give the necessary directions herein as to them may respectively appertain. W. FAWKENER. QUEEN'S PALACE, OCTOBER l8, l8oQ. The followiug address having been transmit- ted to the Earl of Liverpool, his Majesty's Prin- c al Secretary of State for the Home Depart- ment, has been, by his Lordship^ presented to the King ; which address his Majesty was pleas- ed to receive very graciously. To the KING'S Most Excellent Majesty. We your Majesty's dutiful nnd loyal subjects, the ministers and ciders of the Provincial Sy- nod of Aberdeen, met at Aberdeen, this nth day of October 1809, participating in that joy, which universally prevails in your dominions, on the approaching anniversary of your acces- sion to the throne, beg leave, with all humility and respect, to express to your Majesty, the sense which we entertain of the divine good- ness, in having blessed these realms with your Majesty's mild and equitable government for near half a century. Whether we contrast the instability of other thrones, with the. firm basis on which that of your Majesty is placed; whether we look a- bioad to the misery of the surrounding nations, or at home to the happiness of our own ; whe- ther we contemplate the comforts enjoyed by all classes of your Majesty's subjects in this fa- voured land, or reflect on the encourapmient afforded to religion in general, by your Majes- ty's example and influence, and the support ex- perienced by our own ecclesiastical establishment in particular; our hearts are filled with the most lively sentiments of gratitude and attach- ment : and we beg leave to assure your Ma- jesty, that we will continue to maintain and ad- vance the interests of religion, and to inculcate on the people committed to our care, that righ- teousness which exalteth a nation, and to guard them against that sin, which is the reproach, and must be the rtiin of any people. That your Majesty may long sway the scep- tre of this kingdom ; that under the weight of declining years, you may be solaced by the love and veneration of your subjects, and the duty and affection of your family ; and that when you shall be called upon to resign your earthly crown, a heavenly crown may be the reward of your piety, and many other exalted virtues, is the prayer of, may it please your Majesty, your Majesty's loyal and dutiful subjects, the' mi- nisters and elders of the Provincial Synod of A- berdeen, and subscribed in our name and pre sence, and by our appointment, by GAVIN MITCHELL, Moderator.
