No. gi.] on FEES, G R A T U I T I E S , & c.—( ExGife Duties.) No. 91. The Examination of Mr. SAMUEL JOHNSTON; taken upon Oath, the 7th February 1809. This Examinant faith, That he is Firft Clerk in the office of the Surveyor of Revenue Buildings; fome time in the year 1802, he was appointed to pay the weekly wages of the fire- lighters, hall and gate porters, labourers, watchmen, & c., which he has continued to do ever fince; for this fervice he is paid a falary of fixty pounds per annum. Every fort- night he applies to the Board for the amount of what he conceives will be the expence of the fucceeding fortnight, upon which he receives an Incident Order for the fum required. It is the duty of the Surveyor of Revenue Buildings to examine his accounts, but they have not been examined or fettled fince January 29th 1803.
