CONFIDENTIAL Supplement B THE POLICE GAZETTE No. 50. FRIDAY, DECEMBER 14, 1928. VOL. X. Convicts on Licence, Persons under Police Supervision and others whose apprehensions are sought for failing to comply with the requirements of the Prevention of Crimes Act. Those bearing names marked * are Licence Holders and should produce their licences. The first condition of a licence is that the holder shall preserve it and produce it when called upon by a Magistrate or Police Officer ; but it should be distinctly understoood that a Licence Holder is not required to carry hie licence upon him. Before preferring a charge of failing to produce a licence it should be ascertained what the defaulter has to say vide Sec. 6, Sub- Sec. I, 7 < fc 21 Vict., Cap. 47, which requires a Licence Holder to produce his licence or show some reasonable excuse why he does not produce the same. N. B.— When a circulation is cancelled, the printed matter relating to the person in question might be ruled through in red ink, without defacing the portrait. Licence Holders and Supervisees. Left Castle Eden, 10- 11- 23, stating his intention of visiting Hebburn- on- Tyne ar. d Lemington- on- Tyne. Pre. con. of arson ( stack and dwelling- house) and minor offence. Known to police at WITHERNSEA, CRAIG, DURHAM ( Co.) and CHESTER- LE- STREET. For portrait see Case No. 204 ( Vol. X.). Inf. to Chief Ii spect r, Castle Eden. Persons Licensed from a Borstal Institution. PRISON COMMISSION FOR SCOTLAND. EDINBURGH. 302.— For failing to comply with the conditions of his licence, which has been revoked.-- John Alexander Currie, aliases John Alexander Carrie and John Carrie, C. R. O. No. 18974- 20, b. 1903, 5ft. 1 Jin., c. sallow, h. dk. brown, e. brown, dimple in chin. A labourer ; native of Leith. Sentenced at Edinburgh Sheriff Ct., 26- 11- 20, to 3 yrs. detention in a B. I. for fraud. Liberated on licence, 5- 11- 23, from Polmont Institution. Absconded from his approved address, 24- 11- 23. Obtained food and lodgings by false pretences 2 POLICE GAZETTE SUPPLEMENT B. EDINBURGH. 303.— For failing to comply with the conditions of his licence, which has been revoked.— John Henry Fletcher, C. R. O. Inf. to the Prison Commissioners for Scotland, Edinburgh. Apprehensions. 304.—' William Henry Hunter, C. R. O. No. 605- 13, Case No. 224 ( Vol. X.), is charged as William Plimmer, at Coventry ( City) Pol. Ct., with posses- sing housebreaking implements by night. 306.— 01? a Bernstein, alias Jenny Stein, C. R. O. No. 21714- 20, Case No. 281 ( Vol. X.), on X Division charged with larceny. 305.— James Pearson, C. R. O. No. 1651- 05, Case No. 233 ( Vol. X.), at Forebridge ( Staffs), charged with obtaining food and lodgings by false pretences. 307. - James Cooper, C. R. O.
