See Case No. 60 ( Vol. III.). .^/ Jm*^^ The following persons who have already appeared in Supplement A have been re- convicted as follows— 449. Leonard Reginald Williams, Cases Nos. 105 ( Vol. I.) and 3 ( Vol. XIII.), was sentenced as Leonard Williams, at C. C. C., 8- 12- 1926. to 3 vrs. pen., for demanding money by menaces with intent to steal. Charles Passey, C. R. O. No. 9944- 1914, was convicted with him. 450. Alfred Hunt, Cases Nos. 190 ( Vol. I.) and 68 ( Vol. XIII.), was sentenced at C. L. S., 7- 12- 1926, to 21 mos. impt., for burglary, larceny and possessing housebreaking implements by night. Method as in Case No. 240 ( Vol. X.) except in this case he effected entrance through an adjoining building in course of re- construction, thence gained access to the roof of dwelling house and forced a window. Sidney Carter, C. R. O. No. 12751- 1926, was concerned with him. Albert Tivendale, Cases Nos. 299 ( Vol. I.) and 373 Vol. XIII ), was at C. C. C., 9- 12- 1926, bound over in £ 50 for 2 yrs. and one surety £ 50 for £ 2 yrs., for forging and uttering postal telegrams ( 2 cases). 451. George Gordon, Case No. 56 ( Vol. III.), was sentenced as George Edward Kempson, at Birmingham Ass., 3- 12- 1926, to 5 yrs. pen., for housebreaking. Method as in original case. 452. William Challis, Case No. 149 ( Vol. III.), was sentenced at Marlborough Street Pol. Ct. ( L.)> 9- 12- 1926, to 3 mos. impt., for stealing money by trick. Hired a taxi cab and at end of journey obtained change from driver and absconded. Thomas Thyra Tuckwell, Case No. 187 ( Vol. III.), was sentenced at Dover ( Co.) Pol. Ct., 16- 12- 1926, to 6 and 6 mos. impt. ( cons.) for obtaining money by false pretences ( 2 cases). Method as in original case. One other case of false pretences was taken into consideration when sentence was passed. George Gore, Case No. 261 ( Vol. III.), was sentenced as John Adams, at Surrey Ass., 2- 12- 1926, to 5 yrs. pen. for burglary. Method as in original case. Lewis Martin, C. R. O. No. 18229- 1925, was convicted with him. 453. William Dorrington, Case No. 108 ( Vol. IV.), was sentenced as Fred Dorrington, at Manchester ( City) Sess., 8- 12- 1926, to 12 mos. impt. for obtaining credit by false pretences! Method as in Case No. 310 ( Vol. IX.). James Wilfred Austen, Case No. 162 ( Vol. IV.), was at Leeds ( City) P. Sess., 8- 12- 1926, discharged under the Probation of Offenders Act for obtaining food and lodgings by false pretences. Joseph Grant, Case No. 58 ( Vol. V.), was sentenced as Joseph Clark, at Greenwich Pol. Ct. ( L.), 6- 12- 1926, to 3 mos. impt. for being a suspected person— loitering. George Connor, Case No. 447 ( Vol. IX.), was convicted with him. James Grant, Case No. Ill ( Vol. VI.), was sentenced at C. C. C., 8- 12- 1926, to 15 mos. impt. for shopbreaking and larceny. Method as in Case No. 240 ( Vol. XII.). Joseph Phillips, Case No. 213 ( Vol. VI.), was sentenced at Cambridge Sess., 10- 12- 1926, to 3 yrs. pen. for larceny— confidence trick. Method as in original case. 454. Charles Henry Noble, Case No. 426 ( Vol. VI ), was sentenced as Arthur William Rouse, at Barnstaple P. Sess., 16- 12- 1926, to 3 mos. impt. for obtaining food, lodgings and money by false pretences. Method as in original case. Five other cases of a similar nature at Exeter, Plymouth, Bath and Wells were taken into consideration when sentence was passed. Thomas Trevor Williams, Case No. 483 ( Vol. VI.). The sentence of 5 yrs. pen. and 3 yrs. police supervision shown in issue dated 5- 11- 1926, was reduced by Court of Criminal Appeal, 29- 11- 1926, to 15 mos. impt. Henry Highams, Case No. 195 ( Vol. VII.), was sentenced as George Gray, at Marylebone Pol. Ct. ( L.), 11- 12- 1926, to 9 mos. impt. under the Prevention of Crimes Act for loitering. Thomas O'Sullivan, C. R. O. No. 21432- 1926, was convicted with him. 455. Winifred Joan Perry, Case No. 437 ( Vol. VII.), was, as Winifred Joan Nevill, at Westminster Pol. Ct. ( L.), 16- 12- 1926, bound over own recognizances £ 10 for 12 mos., for stealing a fur coat, etc., as servant. Method as in original case. Arthur Williams, Case No. 96 ( Vol. VIII.), was sentenced as George Sinclair, at Westminster Pol. Ct. ( L.), 7- 12- 1926, to 6 and 6 mos. impt. ( conc.) for stealing books from inside shop. Bertram Ernest Reginald Beadall, Case No. 376 ( Vol. VIII.), was sentenced as Bertram Ernest Reginald Beadell, at C. C. C., 9- 12- 1926, to 3 yrs. pen. for housebreaking and larceny ( 2 cases). Method as in Case No. 477 ( Vol. XII.). George Connor, Case No. 447 ( Vol. IX.), was sentenced at Greenwich Pol. Ct. ( L), 6- 12- 1926, to 2 mos. impt. for being a suspected person— loitering. Joseph Grant, Case No. 58 ( Vol. V.), was convicted with him. William Hurley, Case No. 373 ( Vol. X.), was sentenced at Bow Street Pol. Ct. ( L.), 2- 12- 1926, to 3 mos. impt. for being a suspected person. James Corte, C. R. O. No. 699- 1902, was convicted with him. 456. Frederick Charles Maxwell, Case No. 485 ( Vol. XI ), was sentenced as James Edward Westbrook, at Northampton P. Sess., 8- 12- 1926, to 4 mos. impt. for obtaining food and lodgings by false pretences. Method as in Case No. 266 ( Vol. XII.). A case of false pretences at Cambridge was taken into consideration when sentence was passed. 457. Arthur Hatton, Case No. 15 ( Vol. XIII.), was sentenced at Buxton Pol. Ct., 8- 12- 1926, to 6 mos. impt. for obtaining money by false pretences. Stated his car had broken down, that he wished to get back to a neighbouring town and promised to repay double the amount borrowed. LATEST INFORMATION. Frederick Francis Giles, Case No. 175 ( Vol. I.), was liberated, 22- 12- 1926, into the M. P. D. Harry Pile, Case No. 252 ( Vol. I.), was liberated on licence, 24- 12- 1926, to Liverpool. Percy Courtney, Case No. 147 ( Vol. III.), was liberated, 29- 12- 1926, into the M. P. D. Alfred Ingram, Case No. 96 ( Vol. IV ), was liberated, 21- 12- 1926, into the M. P. D. Intended address : 11, Kildare Terrace, Bayswater. Arthur Fenton, Case No. 133 ( Vol. IV.), was liberated on P. D. licence, 13- 12- 1926 Avis Fitzroy, Case No. 261 ( Vol. IV.), was liberated, 16- 12- 1926, into the M. P. D. Llewellyn Price, Case No. 386 ( Vol. IV.), was liberated, 21- 12- 1926, to Bristol. James Ludford, Case No. 171 ( Vol. V.), was liberated, 31- 12- 1926, to Newcastle. Arthur McManus, Case No. 205 ( Vol. V.), was liberated, 13- 12- 1926, into the M. P. D. Intended address : 25, St. Agathes Square, Willow Street, Finsbury. Lily Willoughby, Case No. 372 ( Vol. V.), was liberated, 24- 12- 1926, into the M. P. D. James Arthur Martin, Case No. 382 ( Vol. V.), was liberated, 21- 12- 1926, into the M. P. D. Sidney Baxter, Case No. 230 ( Vol. VI.), was liberated on licence, 14- 12- 1926, into the M. P. D. Victor Henshall, Case No. 74 ( Vol. VII.), was liberated, 8- 12- 1926, to Brighton. William Seymour, Case No. 224 ( Vol. VIII.), was liberated, 21- 12- 1926, into the M. P. D. Reginald Williams, Case No. 248 ( Vol. VIII.), was liberated, 20- 12- 1926, into the M. P. D. Frederick Archie Greensmith, Case No. 481 ( Vol. IX.), was liberated on licence, 10- 12- 1926, into the M. P. D. George Drew, Case No. 290 ( Vol. X.), was liberated, 24- 12- 1926, into the M. P. D. Intended address : 3, Hamilton Mews, Highbury Barn. Charles Harcourt, Case No. 307 ( Vol. X.), was liberated on licence, 17- 12- 1926, into the M. P. D. Claud Everard Garrett, Case No. 337 ( Vol. X.), was liberated, 24- 12- 1926, to Portsmouth. Ethel Brown, Case No. 320 ( Vol. XII.), was liberated, 18- 12- 1926, to Hull. John Ryan, Case No. 125 ( Vol. XIII.), was liberated, 21- 12- 1926, to Manchester. NOTE.— In the event of information being received of the DEATH of any criminal whose particulars have appeared in POLICE GAZETTE SUPPLEMENT A, the fact should be notified to C. R. O. As the latest information or subsequent conviction of criminals, whose particulars have been inserted in Supplement A, will appear in each issue at the end of the cases, the original numbers should be cross- referenced on the printed lines provided for that purpose. SPECIAL NOTICE. When any person whose portrait and description have appeared in Supplement A is again arrested for any offence, and on account of being locally known the finger prints are not sent to C. R. O. for the purpose of search, it is requested that particulars of such conviction be sent to Criminal Record Office as soon as possible in order that they may appear in an early issue of Supplement A for the information of all forces.
