The following persons who have already appeared in Supplement A have been re- convicted as follows— 181. William Hunt, Case No. 21 ( Vol. I.), and 367 ( Vol. XII.), was sentenced as William Watson at Birmingham Pol. Ct., 6- 5- 1926, to 6 and 6 mos. impt. ( cons.) for false pretences— worthless cheque ( 2 cases). Method as in original case. Five other cases of a similar nature at Hitchin, Aylesbury, Watford, Nottingham and Wellingborough were taken into consideration when sentence was passed. Used the names of George Hill, George Hewitt, George Smith and William Willis. 182. Herbert Curson Goad, Case No. 268 ( Vol. I.), was sentenced as Herbert Coutts Greville at C. C. C., 29- 4- 1926, to 4 yrs. pen. for fraud— worthless cheque. Method as in original case. Thirteen other cases of a similar nature were taken into consideration when sentence was passed. 183. Harry Burton, Case No. 35 ( Vol. II ). was sentenced as Robert Arthur Cooper at King's Lynn Sess., 15- 4- 1926, to 18 mos. impt. for obtaining credit by fraud. Obtained lodgings on the pretence that he was employed at a local garage. 184. William Jones, Case No. 154 ( Vol. II.), was as John Laycock at Newbury Sess., 5- 5- 1926, discharged for cyclestealing and at Newbury P. Sess., 6- 5- 1926, sentenced to 1 mo. impt. for failing to report. Used the name of William Anderson. Charles Graves, Case No. 146 ( Vol. IV.), was sentenced as George Reed at Middlesex Sess., 5- 5- 1926, to 3 yrs. pen. for housebreaking and stealing clothing, etc. Method as in original case. 185. Herbert Ebborn Moon, Case No. 241 ( Vol. IV.), was sentenced as Herbert Moon at Strangeways Pol. Ct., 29- 4- 1926, to 3 raos^ impt. for obtaining money by false pretences— worthless cheque. By representing that his motor car was at a local garage having lights repaired and that he was short of loose cash, he induced a person to cash a cheque, afterwards found to be worthless. James Kirby, Case No. 434 ( Vol. IV.), was sentenced at West London Pol. Ct., 13- 4- 1926, to 2 mos. impt. for larceny. Entered a house by the lavatorv window, which had been left open, and stole property from a bedroom. 186. Ernest William Clague, Case No. 332 ( Vol. V.), was, atHendon P. Sess. ( L.), 22- 4- 1926, ordered to come up for sentence within 6 mos. to repay cash, for stealing money. Was a patient at a hospital and entrusted with money to pay the local newsagent, but absconded. John Clayton, Case No. 347 ( Vol. V.), was sentenced at Crewe P. Sess., 4- 5- 1926, to 12 mos. impt. under the Prevention of Crimes Act for being found on enclosed premises. 187j Stanley Powys, Case No. 456 ( Vol. V.), was sentenced as Arthur Smith at C. L. S., 27- 4- 1926, to t yrs. pen. for larceny— visitor ( 4 cases). Entered West End Clubs under the pretence of being i member and stole property from the cloak rooms. Twelve other cases of a similar nature were taken into consideration when sentence was passed. 188. Ernest Brown, Case No. 423 ( Vol. VI.), was sentenced as Ernest Allder at C. L. S., 27- 4- 1926, to 12 mos. impt. for shopbreaking and larceny. With confederates, broke the window of a jeweller's shop, stole jewellery and escaped in a motor car. Richard Cannadine, C. R. O. No. S/ 139747, was concerned with him. William Seymour, Case No. 224 ( Vol. VIII.), was sentenced as William Cavanna at Lambeth Pol. Ct. ( L.), 7- 5- 1926, to 1 mo. impt. for stealing two rolls of towelling from shop. Method as in Case No. 408 ( Vol. XI.). George Gardner, Case No. 362 ( Vol. VIII.), was sentenced at North London Pol. Ct., 21- 4- 1926, to 6 weeks impt. for assault. James Moore, Case No. 450 ( Vol. X.), was sentenced at Marylebone Pol. Ct. ( L.), 6- 5- 1926, to 2 mos. impt. for stealing money by means of a trick. Method as in ( iii) original case. Harold Loughans, Case No. 36 ( Vol. XI.), was sentenced at Huddersfield Sess., 28- 4- 1926, to 3 yrs. pen. for false pretences. Obtained a sum of money from a person whom he knew by representing he had secured work at a local brickyard. 189. John Samuel Brown, Case No. 03 ( Vol. XI.), was sentenced at Fleetwood Pol. Ct., 19- 4- 1926, to 2 and 2 mos. impt. ( cons.) and 1 mo. impt. ( conc.) for false pretences ( 2 cases), and attempted false pretences, ( i.) Method as in Case No. 150 ( Vol. XII.) ; ( ii.) Obtained food and lodgings by posing as a doctor, stating he had patients in the neighbourhood and that he would be staying a day or two ; ( iii.) Method as in Case No. 229 ( Vol. XI.). Used the names of Dr. Baker and Dr. Lloyd. Richard Harvey, Case No. 65 ( Vol. XI.), was, at West London Pol. Ct., 6- 5- 1926, bound over in own recognizances £ 10 for 12 mos. for disorderly conduct and assault. 190. John Henry Vincent Knight. Case No. 331 ( Vol. XI.), was sentenced as John Henry Knight at Huddersfield Sess., 28- 4- 1926, to 3 yrs. pen. for false pretences ( 2 cases). Method as in original case. Twenty other cases of a similar nature were taken into consideration when sentence was passed. 191. Daniel Dawson, Case No. 412 ( Vol. XI.), was sentenced at Middlesex Sess., 5- 5- 1926, to 5 yrs. pen. for receiving. Was found in possession of stolen property, the proceeds of housebreaking. James Willocks, C. R. O. No. 15812- 1918, was convicted with him. 192. Clifford Pye, Case No. 338 ( Vol. XII.), was sentenced as Clifford Roy Pye at Stockport Pol. Ct., 1- 5- 1926, to 3, 3 and 6 mos. impt. ( cons.) for obtaining money and tools by false pretences. Represented he was a relative of a local publican, also that he wanted to pay his employees their wages but could not get a cheque cashed as the banks were closed. LATEST INFORMATION. As the latest information or subsequent conviction of criminals, whose particulars have been inserted in Supplement A, will appear in each issue at the end of the cases, the original numbers should be cross- referenced on tht printed fines provided for that purpose. SPECIAL NOTICE. When any person whose portrait and description have appeared in Supplement A is again arrested for any offence, and on account of being locally known the finger prints are not sent to C. R. O. for the purpose of search, it is requested that particulars of such conviction be sent [ to Criminal Record Office as soon as possible in order that they may appear in an early issue of Supplement A, for the information of all forces.
