KENT. 8.- Cranbrook ( Co.).— For stealing lady's bicycle, at Horsmonden, 28th ult.— Thomas Wilkin- son, C. R. O. No. 20352- 23, b. 1892, 5ft, 4 § in., c. fresh, h. brown, e. blue, scar 1. cheek ; dress, dk. suit with green stripe, dk. overcoat, dk. fawn Trilby hat, field boots. GLOUCESTERSHIRE . 6.— Bristol ( City).— For forging and uttering Post Office money order for £ 2, 16th ult.— John Bradbury, b. 1881 to 1886, Scottish or Irish accent ; dress, overcoat and cap. By representing that he had recently started an egg and butter business locally, he opened an account at Lloyd's Bank, Clare Street, paid in cheques totalling £ 228, drawn on Union Bank of Manchester, Wigan, the Lancashire & Yorkshire Bank, Wigan, and the Manchester & County Bank, Wigan, in favour of himself, which were subsequently found to be worthless. Also paid in £ 20 in cash, and was issued cheque book containing cheques Nos. 596/ 423861 to 423890. Later he drew £ 18 on one of these cheques, and at the same time presented Post Office money order for £ 30, for which he was handed cash. It was subsequently discovered that the money order, originally made out for £ 2, had been altered to £ 30. Cheques for various sums, from the book referred to, have since been drawn in the names of Joshua Wright, S. E. Thompson and Albert Shaw, and paid into banks at Lincoln and Doncaster. Appears identical with Man, Case No. 49, 13- 7- 25. Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Bristol. LANCASHIRE. 9.— Manchester ( City).— Adverting to Case No. 41, 25- 1- 26. Harry Edge, C. R. O. No. 18778- 22. Amended inf.— Now wanted for this offence. Motor car recovered. Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Manchester. WARWICKSHIRE . 10.— Birmingham ( City).— For stealing ( bailee) £ 71 12s. 5d., 25th ult.— George Hewlett,^ alias Ulatt, b. 1901, 5ft. 6in., medium build, c. fresh, h. brown, e. blue, clean shaven, lost 1st, 2nd and 3rd rt. fingers ; dress, dk. grey suit, dk. Trilby hat, blue muffler, boots. A haulier. Was employed as barman, and entrusted with above amount to pay into the bank, failed to do so, and absconded. Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Birmingham. HAMPSHIRE. 7.— Andover ( Co.).— V. Patterson, Case No. 6, 29- 1- 26, is identical with Vivian William Burgrave Patterson, C. R. O. No. 2576- 23, b. 1887, 5ft. It. brown ( bald in front), small It. moustache, quiet disposition, speaks fluent French ; dress, It. grey suit, It. overcoat with black velvet collar, mourning star on sleeve, bowler hat, brown scarf, black socks and shoes. Generally carries attache- case. Obtained from local house agent names of persons keeping private schools, called on latter and represented a client of his who was going abroad had 2 girls he wished to place at school. Arranged terms and promised to return later after conferring with his client. On his return said he had fixed up and induced loser to have advertisement and plate inserted in time table he was having printed and circulated in district. Gave receipt bearing Express Publicity Co.. Imperial Arcade, Dale End, Birmingham, and at Reading ( false). Appears identical with Cecil Macdonagh Duncan, C. R. O. Two other soldiers who also absconded with him have been arrested and state that they were all given a lift in a motor lorrv and put down at Chiswick ( L.) on 26th ult., and that the cycles were left in the lorry.
