CONFIDENTIAL Supplement B THE POLICE GAZETTE No. 4. FRIDAY, JANUARY 22, 1926. VOL. XIII. Convicts on Licence, Persons under Police Supervision and others whose apprehensions are sought for failing to comply with the requirements of the Prevention of Crimes Act. Those bearing names marked * are Licence Holders and should produce their licences. The first condition of a licence is that the holder shall preserve it and produce it when called upon by a Magistrate or Police Officer ; but it should be distinctly understood that a Licence Holder is not required to carry his licence upon him Before preferring a charge of failing to produce a licence it should be ascertained what the defaulter has to say vid* Sec. 5, Sub- Sec. 1, 27 & 28 Vict., Cap. 47, which requires a Licence Holder to produce his licence or show some reasonable excuse why he does not produce the same. N. B.— When a circulation is cancelled, the printed matter relating to the person in question might be ruled through in red ink, without defacing the portrait. Licence Holders and Supervisees. C. R. O. 15.—* Patrick Brady, aliases Michael Joseph Roche, Michael Joseph Benson, Gerald Benson, John Smith, Cecil Guiness, Patrick Burke, Ulick Burke and John Turton, C. R. O. No. 119- 24, b. 1875, 5ft. ll^ n., c. fresh, h. black ( turning grey, going thin on top), e. blue, scar 4th rt. finger. A stockbroker ; native of Galway. Sentenced at C. C. C., 28- 2- 22, to 3 yrs. pen. for larceny and fraud. Subsequently sentenced at Tower Bridge Pol. Ct. ( L.), 6- 11- 24, to 3, 3 and 3 mos. impt. ( cons.) and licence revoked, for false pretences ( 3 cases). Liberated on second licence ( which expires 18- 3- 26), 11- 1- 26, into the M. P. D. Failed to report on liberation. Officer proving identity, P. S. Worth, C. I. D.- B. Pre. con. of larceny and false pretences. Known to Police at DUBLIN, C. O. and on B, C, D, E and L. For portrait, etc., see Case No. Ill, Supplement A ( Vol. VIII.). May be dealt with where found if there is evidence of an offence against the Prevention of Crimes Act in such place. CR. O. 16.—* James Sanders, aliases Alfred Henleigh, Alfred Henley, Alfred Smart and James Saunders, C. R. O. No. 1974- 08, b. 1883, 5ft. 6in., c. dk., h. dk. brown ( turning grey), e. brown, scar 1. side neck, each thumb, 2nd and 3rd rt. fingers, palm 1. hand, 1. wrist, and 3rd 1. finger, 3 dots 1. forearm. An engine driver ; native of Exeter. Sentenced at Wells Ass., 21- 10- 22, to 3 yrs. pen. ( and remanet of former sentence) for burglary. Liberated on licence ( which expires 20- 7- 26), 21- 8- 25, to Carnarvon. Reported at Carnarvon, 21- 12- 25, his intention of proceeding to Bangor, but failed to report there, and has not since been heard of. Pre. con. of larceny, warehousebreaking, housebreaking, countinghousebreaking and office- breaking. Known to Police at WOOTTON BASSET, BRISTOL, PENARTH, CARDIFF, TORPOINT, WESTON- SUPER- MARE, KEYNSHAM, TIVER- TON, SOUTHAMPTON, HIGH WYCOMBE and CHERTSEY. For portrait, etc., see Case No. 200, Supplement A ( Vol. IX.). May be dealt with where found if there is evidence of an offence against the Prevention of Crimes Act in such place. 2 POLICE GAZETTE SUPPLEMENT B. Friday, January 22, 1926. Apprehensions. 17.— William Duce, C. R. O. No. 2246- 02, Case 18.— George Day, C. R. O. No. 659- 15, Case No. 1 No. 75 ( Vol. IV.), is in custody at Leeds, charged ( Vol. XIII.), is in custody at Watton, charged with larceny. with false pretences. Memorandum. John Godfrey, C. R. O. No. 7- 24, Case No. 288 ( Vol. XII.). Warrant issued. Original notice should be amended accordingly.
