SOMERSETSHIRE. 13 — Frome ( Co.).— For stealing ( dwelling), 27th ult., gold watch and chain ( recovered).— Daisy Young, aliases Chedzev; Green, Sims and Simpson, b. about 1899, about 5ft. 6in., slight build, c. pale, h. ( bobbed and curly) black, e. dk. ; dress, brown knitted coat and skirt, brown raincoat, black close fitting bat, shoes. Visited loser's house with a party of friends, and unobserved entered a bedroom, stole watch and chain, which she pledged four days later in Bristol. Married an Australian soldier just after the war. He died in Australia shortly after and she returned to Torquay about 2 yrs. ago. She is suspected of stealing jewellery there on 17- 12- 25, and is believed to be sailing for Australia from London this week. Warrant issued. Inf. to Supt. Stewart, Frome. YORKSHIRE ( NORTH RIDING). 14.— Middlesbrough ( Boro.).— For obtaining furniture and household goods ( recovered) by false pretences, on or about 1- 9- 25.— William Amos Lyon, b. about 1876, 5ft. 5 or 6in., thin build, c. sallow, clean shaven, sharp features, wears pince- nez ; dress, blue serge suit, It. brown Trilby hat, spats ; smart appearance. Took tenancy of dwellinghouse, stated that he was Emigration Agent for the New Zealand Government ( false), obtained furniture and represented that his salary would be paid twice a year, the first payment being due 1st December, 1925. Also purported to carry on business at the house as The Universal Agency, describing himself on his memos, as Accountant and Auditor, Employment Specialist, etc. Absconded ' about 1st ult., without paying local tradesmen. Documents left behind bv him show that he proposed to promote a 1926 Seaside Holiday Camp for Children, described as the Happy Valley, and had received subscriptions on account of this. Has contributed articles to news- papers, styling himself " A World Wide Traveller." May be accompanied by Agnes Lyon or Readman ( not wanted), b. 1886 to 1890, tall, well built, c. fresh, h. fair, may be pregnant ; dress, black or grey coat, Stated native of Middlesbrough. They are believed to have arrived in this country from China a few months ago. Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Middlesbrough. Both committed for trial at C. C. C., commencing 12th inst., charged with garagebreaking and 2 cases of larceny. Have been travelling country in Buick motor car, breaking into golf pavilions, stealing golf clubs, clothing, etc., and stealing rugs from cars left unattended. Have also called at garages and obtained petrol by false pretences, sometimes leaving stolen clubs as security. Part of property circulated in cases Nos. 45, 2- 11- 25, and 61, 6- 11- 25, has been found in their possession. 16.— Remanded at Brentford P. Sess. ( L.)— T Division case— till 11th inst., charged as William Jones with officebreaking.— Attested at Hounslow Barracks for the Roval Artillerv. and during the night, with Albert Edward Hartley, C. R. O. No. 10690- 25, and John Albert Butler, C. R. O. No. 10690- 20, forced open a number of doors with an axe and poker, removed safe from Recruiting Officer's office, and tried to force it open. This they failed to do, and they then carried it to the first floor of the building and dropped it out of the window, to burst it open.— William Henry North, aliases William North, William Jones and William Smith, C. It. brown, e. small, bowlegged, clean shaven ; dress, dk. jacket and vest, grey trousers, muffler, It. raincoat, brown boots. A miner ; native of Clay Cross. Called on wife of an acquaintance said he had been sent to borrow 4s., loser at first refused but eventually loaned him 2s. Has attempted to obtain other sums in the locality by similar means. Warrant issued. Inf. to Supt. Campbell, Alfreton. 99.— Renishaw ( Co.).— For stealing a metal stove at Clown, 17th ult.— A Man who gave name of Thomas Broadhurst, b. 1891 to 1896, 5ft. 6 or 7in., medium build, c. sallow or swarthy, h. dk., clean shaven ; dress, dk. dirty clothing, cap and muffler. A van dweller of gipsy appearance. Called at house stated he had received permission to take stove away ( false), broke stove up and put same into a cart and drove away. Left the district with a caravan and an old spring cart drawn by a mule and a grey pony ; caravan bears name J. Ball, Stonev Middleton. ' C/ Warrant issued. Inf. to Supt. Andrew, Renishaw. GLOUCESTERSHIRE . 100.— Bristol ( City).— For failing to observe the conditions of her recognizance.— Bessie Stroud, b. 1892, 5ft., slight build, c. fair, h. It. brown, e. grey. Native of Newport ( Mon.). Was bound over at Bristol Pol. Ct., 2- 6- 24, in her own recogni- zance of £ 5 to appear, etc., within 2 yrs. on condi- tion that she entered and remained in a home for that period, on a charge of wandering, and was handed over to Salvation Army. During December, 1925, she changed her address without notifying the Probation Officer. Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Bristol 101.— Bristol ( City).— For failing to observe the conditions of her recognizance.— Ivy Gardner, b. 1908, about 5ft., stocky build, h. dk. LIVER- POOL ( Edward Kellvj, PLYMOUTH and CHICHESTER ( William Kemble). On 4th inst., ripped open the cushions in two compartments of a train standing in siding on Southern Railway, and stole 401bs. of horsehair ( recovered). Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. NOTTINGH AMSHTRE . 104.— Nottingham ( Co.).— For stealing ( lodgings), at Beeston, 4th inst., gent's blue pilot overcoat, door key, ' medical card and a silk handkerchief.- James Barry, b. 1899 to 1900, 5ft. 9in., well built, c. sallow, h. black, clean shaven, one finger rt. hand believed short or part missing ; dress, brown suit, It. cap, blue muffler, check socks, shoes. A miner ; believed native of Bristol. Was given lodgings for night and absconded next morning with the above property. Appears identical with Albert James Barry, Case No. 101, 9- 12- 25. Warrant issued. Inf. to Supt. Rodgers, Nottingham. 105.— Nottingham ( Co.).— For rape at Hucknall, 6th inst.— A Man, b. 1886 to 1896, 5ft. 8 or 9in., thin build, c. pale, h. black, clean shaven, small chin, teeth discoloured, well spoken, speaks quickly ; dress, grey sack overcoat, grev trousers, grey Trilby hat, soft collar, black tie, boots, wore gold tiepin. Called at house and stated he was selling goods for an institution. Ascertained from maid that she was in the house alone, returned later and on door being opened entered house and committed the offence. Inf. to Supt. Rodgers, Nottingham.
