James, b. 1902, 5ft. 6in., medium build, h. fair, e. grey, Welsh accent; dress, black frock, brown leatherette coat with belt, black close fitting hat, black stockings and shoes. Obtained situation with Welsh people, stated she had come from Llanbyther, where her grandparents had recently died. Stayed 2 days and absconded with the property. Inf. to C. R. Wrote a cheque for £ 150 in favour of builder, obtained £ 4 on strength of cheque, which was subsequently returned marked No Account. Warrant issued. Inf. to C. R. O. KENT. 3.— Tunbridge Wells ( Boro.).— For shopbreak- ing and stealing, 2nd inst., cheque No. A 01039, dated 31st March, 1925, on Westminster Bank, Mount Ephraim Branch, Tunbridge Wells, payable to Brewer and Son, for £ 1 13s. 2d., signed a/ c. Ovenden & Heaysman, J. J. Ovenden, crossed two lines only; cheque, No. 191/ 460446, for £ 1 6s. 3d., dated 31st March, 1925, payable^ to Brewer and Son, signed W. J. Harmer & V. N. Falsely represented that he had authority to obtain orders for advertisements in the Preston North End Football Club's Official Fixture Cards, and obtained 5s. from loser. Warrant issued. The first man entered the shop and asked to be shown an article from the window. Told the manager that he thought it was antique and was not what he wanted. He engaged the manager in conversation, and it is thought that one of the other men entered the shop bj' another door and extracted the rings and pad from the window. Left by 4.58 p. m. train, 3rd inst., for London. Inf. to the C. C., Canterbury. 28— Margate ( Boro.).— 1st inst., from hotel bedroom.— Brown leather attache case, about 13in. by 9in. by 3in., one handle new, plated locks ; small folding pocket Ensign camera, winder very stiff, one part of winding wheel missing, in home made red leather case ; brown suede handbag, handle at top, several compartments, about lOin. by 6in., usual fittings, lined brown moire silk, white kid in centre, containing number of letters, various photos of children and wedding parties, school reports, silver chased pencil case ( with black top), and about 8s. 6d. ; green leather jewel case, with small tray at top, lock broken, about Gin. by 4in. by Sin. ; gold bangle, set 2 rubies and diamond, gold knobs at either side, snap fastening and safety chain, dented at back : fine gold ncckchain, spring ring fastener, round gold pendant attached, set 3 It. blue stones ( two in centre and one drop stone), filigree setting ; silver and black crucifix, about 2Ain. long, on one side the word Jerusalem ; plain gold do., about liin. ; string of ivory beads, carved, turning colour, graduated from about 3/ 16in. to 3,8in„ fastens with split bead with screw thread, length about 30in. ; string of imitation graduated pearls, knotted between each pearl ; rolled gold slave bangle ; string of blue and white china beads ; string of gloss amber beads, with silver points between each bead ; long scroll design metal brooch ; metal do., set rubies, filigree work.
