Called on loser, said his daughter, who had been in service in neighbouring town, had just died ( false), and gave order for funeral, stating her mistress would pay up to £ 20 for the funeral expenses. Told loser he was short of cash, but his pension was due on 10th inst., and produced portion of a post office form relating to transfer of pensions, it being filled in to appear that £ 23 was due to him. Gave his certificate of identity as No. 277992, and induced loser to loan liini £ 2, leaving the post office form as security. Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Guildford.
