CONFIDENTIAL Supplement B THE POLICE GAZETTE No. 40. FRIDAY, DECEMBER 12, 1924. VOL. XI. Convicts on Licence, Persons under Police Supervision and others whose apprehensions are sought for failing to comply with the requirements of the Prevention of Crimes Act. Those bearing names marked * are Licence Holders and should produce their licences. The first condition of a licence is that the holder shall preserve it and produce it when called upon by a Magistrate or Police Officer ; but it should be distinctly understood that a Licence Holder is not required to carry his licence upon him. Before preferring a charge of failing to produce a licence it should be ascertained what the defaulter has to say vide Sec. 5, Sub- Sec. 1, 7 & 21 Vict,, Cap. 47, which requires a Licence Holder to produce his licence or show some reasonable excuse why he does not produce the same. N. B.— When a circulation is cancelled, the printed matter relating to the person in question might be ruled through in red ink, without defacing the portrait. Licence Holders and Supervisees. Sentenced at Lincoln Sess., 22- 6- 22, to 3 yrs. pen., for larceny. Liberated on licence, 26- 9- 24, to Bristol. Failed to make his monthly report at Old Street Pol. Sta. ( G), 26- 11- 24. Officer proving service of notice, Sin. P. S Collins, 4G. Pre. con. of larceny and minor offences. Known to police at LEEDS, BATH, WORCESTER and LINCOLN. His arrest is also sought for larceny, vide Case No. 3, Police Gazette, 10- 12- 24. Sidney Silvester, C. R. O. No. 9486- 20, b. 1895, 5ft. 3in., c. sallow, h. black, e. brown. No. 16457- 18, Apprehensions. | 323.— Walter Baldwin, C. R. O. No. 537- 14, Case No. 300 ( Vol XI.), is in custody at Crewe, charged with fraud on railway. Apprehensions Sought. 324.— George Knee, C. Known to police at EDINBURGH. Inf. to the Prison Commissioners for Scotland, Edinburgh. b. 1903, 5ft. 4Ain., c. pale, h. and e. brown, C. R. rt. forearm. Sentenced at Dundee Sheriff Ct., 4- 1- 23, to 3 yrs. detention in a B. I., for theft. Liberated on licence, 28- 11- 24, from Polmont Institution. Absconded from his approved residence at Shotts, Lanarkshire, 29- 11- 24, and cannot now be traced. Pre. con. of theft by housebreaking and theft. Known to pobce at DUMFRIES, DUNDEE, ARBROATH, ABERDEEN and FORFAR. Inf. to the Prison Commissioners for Scotland, Edinburgh.
