Failed to give satisfactory explanation to the Official Receiver in Bankruptcy. Warrant issued. Inf. to above office. 4.— F Division.— For stealing from hotel, 18th inst., silver backed hand mirror, engine- turned ; silver backed hair brush, do. clothes, engine- turned ; silver travelling clock, black leather back ; lady's coat, black electric seal, 36in. long, Australian opossum collar, lined mauve silk; do., grey squirrel, 34in. long, wrap over style, lined dk. mole flower silk ; gent's coat, clerical, West of England cloth, double- breasted, lined black silk, E. Was employed as Income Tax collector, and failed to account for several small amounts. Warrant issued. Inf. to C. R. O. 5.— Y Division.— For obtaining a sewing machine by false pretences.— E. S. Laird, alias Colney, b. 1898, 6ft., medium build, c. fresh, h. fair, e. blue, clean shaven; dress, blue serge jacket, It. felt hat, white collar, grey tie, boots. Called at shop and asked for machine to be sent to a certain address, saying it was for his employer ( false). Obtained possession of the machine, and absconded. Warrant issued. Inf. to C. R. O. Was employed as a cashier, received the above amount on behalf of his employer, failed to account for same, and absconded 13th inst. Warrant issued. Inf. to Supt. Owen, Crewe. DENBIGHSHIRE. 8.— Colwyn Bay ( Co.).— For wife maintenance arrears of £ 2 19s.— Edwin Pritchard. b. 1885, 5ft. 5in., c. pale, h. brown, e. grey. DEVONSHIRE. 9— Torquay ( Co.).— For bigamy.— Jesse Eugene Williams, alias Wilford Eugene Shenton, b. 1892, 5ft. 8 or 9in., medium build, c. and h. dk.. clean shaven ; dress, grey suit, bowler hat, linen collar, tie, dk. grey double breasted overcoat with belt, brown shoes. An analytical chemist, but has been employed for about 2 yrs. as hotel porter, and may seek employment as such. May be found associating with racing men. Warrant issued. Inf. to Supt. Eddy, Torquay. HERTFORDSHIRE. 10— Bishops Stortford ( Co.).— For obtaining foad and lodgings by false pretences, 13th inst.— Ted Barham, b. 1872, 5ft. Gin., stiff build, c. frosh, h. brown ( thin on top), clean shaven ; dross, dk. suit ( trousers groasy), dk. grey cap, black muffler, brown boots ( nearly new. South African Field pattern). Called at a house, obtained lodgings, stated h had left a lorry load of meat at a local garage ( false). L'ft the house following morning and failed to return. Stated they had come from Exeter and were going to Edinburgh. Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Margate. 14— Ramsgate ( Boro.).— Case No. 94, 30- 6- 24, cancelled. Harold Ernest Gray not now wanted. LANCASHIRE. 15.— Barrow- in- Furness ( Boro.).— For stealing ( bailee) gent's black enamelled bicycle, 24in. frame, 28in. wheels, new Bates tyres rear wheel, horn shaped handle- bars, no grips, rear lever brake, no front brake, new mudguards, rat- trap pedals, spring saddle, repair clip fastened to bottom of frame — Albert Lindsay, abas James Lindsay, b. about 1901, 5ft. 6in., good build, c. fair, h. sandy, clean shaven, round face ; dress, brown jacket and vest, grey trousers, no collar or tie, grey cap, boots. Stayed at common lodging house, hired the bicycle, and paid small deposit, absconded, 9th inst., taking the bicycle with him. Warrant issued. Inf> to the C. C., Barrow- in- Furness. 16.— Blackburn ( Co.).— For stealing ( lodgings), at Darwen, lady's fawn knitted coat, three grey stripes round bottom, fastens at side with three buttons ; gent's umbrella, with straight brown handle ; and £ 3 — A Woman who gave name of Florence Howard, b. 1879 to 1884, 5ft. 8in., stout build, c. fresh, h. brown ( turning grey), e. grey, artificial top dentures, bottom teeth decayed, London accent; dress, tailored navy blue costume, black blouse with beads at bottom, large black silk hat, black stockings and shoes. Obtained lodgings, 13th inst., stated she came from Birkenhead and had come to Darwen to buy a confectionery business. Was supplied with food and lodgings until the 19th inst., when she left, and after she had gone the above articles were missed from the room she had occupied. Warrant issued. Inf. to Supt. Linaker, Blackburn. 17.— Manchester ( City).— For stealing ( bailee) 120 pairs lady's boots.- Irvine (?) Swift, b. 1884, 5ft. llin., medium build, h. brown, clean shaven, thin features, stoops slightly; dress, dk. grey suit ( dirty) and cap. Was given above property to sell at markets on commission, and failed to attend Eccles market as arranged. Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Manchester. LEICESTERSHIRE. 18— Leicester ( City).— For stealing ( lodgings), pair gold rimmed spectacles, in black case, Luck- ings, Granby- street, Leicester, thereon ; waistcoat ; and 15s. ; also for failing to notify change of address. On 29th ult. obtained 10s. stating that he had bought some taps, etc., for his master from Cranwell Camp and had only a blank cheque and they wanted paying in cash ( false). Warrant issued. D. O. scratched on inside case ; gent's 9ct. close curb double albert; 3 gold bar brooches, each with a duck with gold body and enamelled head in centre of bar ; gold bar do., with duck ( gold and enamelled), on end of bar ; gold mounted Waterman fountain- pen; 22ct. wedding ring.— A Man who gave the name of J. Edward Ross, b. 1894, 5ft. 8in., c. fair, clean shaven ; dress, navy blue suit, grey soft felt hat, double collar, tie, wore sweater of Egyptian pattern over his vest. Called on jewellers and represented that he was getting married and wished to purchase certain articles of jewellery, and tendered in pay- ment cheques Nos. A. 248649 and A. 248650, on Barclays Bank, Harrow, which were returned marked No account. Appears identical with Robert Rankin. Case No. 12, 8- 10- 24. Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Edinburgh. Accompanied by a woman who gave name of Flossie Brown, b. 1901, 5ft. 6in., thin build, c. fair, h. black ( short and frizzy), e. sunken, thin lips, decayed teeth ( prominent), thin face, pregnant, London accent; dress, blue gabardine jumper costume with band around waist, black hat with red leaves: blue- grey cardigan. Stole above, the property of a fellow lodger, during the absence of the landlady, who went to Leicester for the day, accompanied by the woman. Ordered goods, value 10s., which she took away with her, also ordered goods to be debvered at a certain address, where she stated she was staying with her mother, and promised to pay for both on deUvery. BERKSHIRE. 144 — Windsor ( Boro.).— For obtaining bottle of whiskey, bottle Bovril, tin of Nestle's milk, and ill), bacon, by false pretences. Mrs. Lawrence, b. 1894 to 1899, 5ft, 2in., medium build, h. dk., e. brown ; dress, dk. brown costume, large black hat ; respectable appearance. Was accompanied by boy, 3 to 4 years ; dress, blue woollen suit ; and baby, about 1 year ; dress, green woollen suit ( trimmed yellow) ; wheeled in folding wooden chair. Took furnished room for a fortnight, stating her husband was a traveller in fancy goods, and was endeavouring to obtain a shop in this town. On the evening of the 18th inst., called at a wine merchant's shop and ordered certain goods, and requested same to be debvered on the morning of the 20th inst., but was allowed to take away the above mentioned goods on promise of payment when the remainder were debvered. When delivery of the remainder was made, the woman had left her address. Appears identical with Mrs. Spencer, Case No. 6, 20- 10- 24, and Mrs. Raymond, Case No. 82, 13- 10- 24. Warrant issued. Obtained loan of 5s. on 16th inst. from secretary of a Buffalo lodge at Llandudno after stating he was without means and was a member of the Earl of Roseberry Lodge, No. 4077, at Epsom. On 17th inst. called at the secretary's house and obtained a further 10s. from latter's wife on a parcel which he left with her saying it contained secret documents for the Buffs. The parcel was later found to contain a lady's overcoat which he . had stolen from a lodging house at Llandudno. It was later found he had also stolen from a house where he stayed the night a double breasted dk. greenish grey gent's overcoat, Hepworth inside. Is identical with a man who on 16th and 17th inst. distributed leaflets advertising coal and printed by Griffiths & Co., of Manchester, for the Coal Saving Co. of Manchester. Warrant issued.
