CONFIDENTIAL THE POLICE Supplement B GAZETTE No 34. FRIDAY, AUGUST 29, 1924. VOL XI. Convicts on Licence, Persons under Police Supervision and others whose apprehensions are sought for failing to comply with the requirements of the Prevention of Crimes Act. Those bearing names marked * are Licence Holders and should produce their licences The first condition of a licence is that the holder shall preserve it and produce it when called upon by a Magistrate or Police Officer ; but it should be distinctly understood that a Licence Holder is not required to carry his licence upon him. Before preferring a charge of foiling to produce a licence it should be ascertained what the defaulter has to say vide Sec. 5, Sub- Sec. 1, 7 & 21 Vict., Cap. 47, which requires a Licence Holder to produce his licence or show some reasonable excuse why he does not produce the same. N. B.— When a circulation is cancelled, the printed matter relating to the person in question might be ruled through in red ink, without defacing the portrait. Licence Holders and Supervisees. BRIGHTON ( BORO.). 231.—'' Edwin Tugwell, C. R. O. No. Known to police at CHATHAM, PORTS- MOUTH, BRIGHTON, MAIDSTONE, FOLKE- STONE and BOXFORD. May be dealt with where found if there is evidence of an offence against the Prevention of Crimes Act in such place. GOWERTON ( CO.). 232.—* Harry Lewis, alias Henry Lewis, C. R. O. b. 1872, 5ft. 6iin., c. fresh, h. brown, e. grey, scar each thumb and first fingers, 23 rt,, 12 dots 1. forearm. A labourer ; native of Brighton. Sentenced at Ipswich Ass., 25- 10- 20, to 5 yrs. pen. for stackfiring. Liberated on licence, 18- 7- 24, to Brighton. Failed to make his monthly report to Brighton Police, 19- 8- 24. Pre. con. of larceny and minor offences. No. 2094- 04, b. 1878, 5ft. 5in., c. fresh, h. grey ( thin top), e. blue, boil scar upper lip, burn scar, 1. forearm. A blacksmith ; native of Plymouth 2 POLICE GAZETTE SUPPLEMENT B. Friday, December 2, 1924. Licence Holders and Supervisees— continued. Sentenced at Wells Sess., 5- 4- 22, to 3 yrs. pen. for malicious damage to property by night. Liberated on licence, 4- 7- 24, to Bristol. Reported at Swansea, 5- 8- 24, his intention of proceeding to Pontardulais but has not yet reported there. Pre. con. of larceny, cyclestealing, house- breaking, malicious damage and minor offences Know to police at SWINDON, READING, CRICKLADE, MELKSHAM, ABINGDON, CHEPSTOW, HEREFORD, OXFORD, WIND- SOR, DEVIZES, WISBECH, CHIPPENHAM, WELLS, BURFORD, BATH, WITNEY and CREWKERNE. May be dealt with where found if there is evidence of an offence against the Prevention of Crimes Act in such place. Persons Licensed from a Borstal Institution. C. R. O. 1& 734- 18, b. 1902, 5ft. 3Jin., c. fresh, h. bi'own, 233.— For failing to comply with the conditions e 8rey> scar rt- side forehead and back of rt. hand, of his licence which has been revoked - Percy A machinist ; native of Bristol. Sentenced at Bristol Sess., 14- 10- 21, to 3 yrs. detention in a B. I. for larceny. Liberated on licence, 19- 7- 23, t< 3 the care of the B. A. After discharge he returned to Bristol but has now left his home and is lost sight of. Pre. con. of larceny. Known to police at BRISTOL- If arrested a telegram or telephonic message, should be sent to C. R. O., when arrangements will be made for an escort to fetch him. Harold Bush, alias Percy Bush, C. R. O. No. The licence will expire 13- 10- 25, after which dat'e he must not on any account be arrested by police on the Revocation Order. Apprehensions. 234.— Reuben Donohue, C. R. O. No. 2314- 01, 235.— Stanley Armstrong, C. R. O. No. 9776- 16, Case No. 114 ( Vol. X.), is in custody on B, charged Case No. 204 ( Vol. XI.), is in custody at Ports- as Robert Carroll, with begging. mouth charged with cyclestealing. Apprehensions Sought. 230. William Warner, C. R. O. No. 1572- 02, Case No. 227 ( Vol. XI.), not now wanted.
