For leaving her child chargeable to the Common Fund of the Chesterfield Union. Violet Evelyn Featherstone, b. 1905, ( ft. 11 in., stout build, c. ( Ik., h. dk. brown, e. brown ; dress, black hat, greenish costume ( check pattern), black shoes and stockings. A bus conductress. May be accompanied by Richard Fawbert ( not wanted). An ex- sailor ( blind). Warrant issued. Inf. to Supt. Stone, (' hesterlield. 113. Renishaw ( Co.). For stealing at Ridge- way, red pocket wallet ; Army discharge papers ; number of receipts ; and £.' i 10s. Harry Wilson, b. I! N) I, 5ft. 5in., medium build, h. dk. brown, e. blue, clean shaven, slight impediment in speech ; dress, grey suit, It. grey cap, striped collar, yellow and blue tie, boots. Took the property from pocket of coat hanging in a farm kitchen, where he was left alone. Warrant issued. Inf. to Supt. Andrew, Renishaw. ESSEX. 114. Clacton- on- Sea ( Co.).— For obtaining credit by false pretences, between 3rd and 18th inst. Cyril Stanhope Purcell, b. 1806, 5ft. 7 or 8in., c. and h. dk., clean shaven, round face ; dress, grey Scotch tweed suit, mole coloured raincoat, mole coloured Trilby hat ( broad brim), boots. On 3rd inst., sent a telegram to the proprietor of a hotel asking him to reserve a bedroom for him. He arrived at the hotel late the same day, and told the hotel proprietor he would like bed and breakfast for a few days. After he hail been there a week he was presented with his account, and he stated he was expecting a cheque and would settle when it arrived. On 10th inst., tendered cheque for £ 10 on the London County Westminster & Parr's Hank, Grays Inn Branch, London, made payable to self, signed W. E. Farnham and dated 28th April, 1024. The cheque was subsequently returned marked No Account. Warrant issued. GOING TO PRESS 9.30 a. m. GLOUCESTERSHIRE. 115. Cirencester ( Co.).- For obtaining food and lodgings by false pretences. Grandison, b. about 1000, 5ft. 8in., c. sallow, h. dk. brown, e. blue, clean shaven, round face, small scar rt. cheek ; dress, dk. grey check suit, soft collar, black stripes, black tie, fawn Trilby hat, black socks, shoes. Met a woman on the road near Ablington, Bibury, and asked her where he could obtain lodgings as his motor car had broken down and he had put it in a farm yard close by ( false). He induced the woman to put him up and stayed with her until mid day 21st iust. He then left, ostensibly to go to the local post office, and borrowed her husband's bicycle to go with, and failed to return. Description of bicycle : gent's Singer, 26in. frame, 28in. by I Jin. wheels, Sturmey- Archer 3- speed gear, frame red and green lined, rims plated, new tyre on back wheel ( make not known), rubber pedals, bell, black celluloid pump, 2 pull- up lever brakes, toolbag containing spanners, carrier on back, letter S. on front lamp bracket, in good condition. Warrant issued. Inf. to Supt. Price, Cirencester. HAMPSHIRE. 116. Southampton ( Boro.).— For forgery.— R. J. O'Sullivan, b. 1870, 5ft. 4 to 6iu., medium build, h. grey, stoops ; dress, dk. grey suit and cap. Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Southampton. ISLE Of WIGHT. 117.— Newport ( Co.).— For obtaining credit with- out disclosing fact that he was an undischarged bankrupt.- Marcus Beresford Sanday, alias Richard Barron Cardwell, b. about 1869, 5ft. 8 or Oin., c. sallow, h. brown, square face, plausible ; dress, blue serge suit, grey Trilby hat, wears pince- nez attached to waistcoat by black silk cord. Accompanied by his wife ( not wanted), b. 1879, 5ft 4in., well built, c. dk. ; usually well dressed in blue serge costume and large black hat ; and four children : Twink ( boy), 11 yrs. ; Olga, 9 yrs. ; Lionel, 7 yrs.; and Marcus, 3J yrs. LANCASHIRE. 118.- Liverpool ( City).— For obtaining clothing value 10s. 6d. by false pretences.— A Man who gave name of Lieutenant Commander A. P. Fox, R. N. R. ( false), b. 1889 to 1892, 5ft. 9in., c. pale, h. fair, clean shaven, well spoken, plausible; dress, slate coloured double- breasted suit, grey Raglan overcoat, bowler hat, brown spats ; carried umbrella. Stated he had orders to join H. M. S. Thunderer at Portsmouth. Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Liverpool. 119. Manchester ( City). For stealing ( servant), 19th inst., paperhanger's brushes, etc.— David Tetenbaum, b. 1897, 5ft. 7in., c. and h. dk., e. brown, well spoken ; a Jew ; dress, It. grey or blue striped suit, black overcoat, soft collar, dk. tie, brown shoes ( pointed). v Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Manchester. SURREY. 120. Guildford ( Boro.).— For obtaining by false pretences, 20th inst., voucher for 2s. from British Legion Fund.— T. Smith, b. about 1879, 5ft. 9Hn., c. and h. fair, clean shaven, thin face ; dress, blue suit, Trilby hat, respectable appear- ance. In possession of Army discharge papers.— C. Kingsbury, b. 1905, 5ft. 5in„ stiff build, h. It. brown, clean shaven, full face ; dress, blue suit, Trilby hat, respectable appearance. In possession of Naval discharge papers. Travelling the country together, and applying for assistance at British Legion Offices. Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Guildford. WORCESTERSHIRE . 122.— Worcester ( Co.).— For housebreaking ( forcing door with jemmy), between 7th and 11th inst., at Hawford, Ombersley, and stealing pair cotton sheets]; gent's Scotch tweed sports coat ( new) ; 2doz. gramophone records ; 2 boxes cigarettes, As supplied to the House of Lords on box.— William Harrison, alias Roper, b. 1888 to 1890, 5ft. 4in., proportionate build, c. pale, h. brown, e. grey, slight fair moustache ( inclined to be sandy), short quick step, bayonet wound V- shape in centre of ( believed) I. hand ; dress, old blue suit ( patched), fawn raincoat, fawn velour hat, may be wearing stolen coat. Inserts advertisements in local papers as follows :— Carpenter, Ex- Service, wants situation for jobbing work or contract, own tools, Is. 4d. per hour. Warrant issued. Inf. to the D. C. C., Worcester. YORKSHIRE ( EAST RIDING). 123.- Hull ( City).— For obtaining food by false pretences, between 13th and 15th inst.— George Ives, b. 1894 to 1898, 5ft. 9in„ thin build, c. fresh, h. It. brown, e. blue ( cast 1.), wears spectacles, good teeth, large ears, well spoken, speaks slowly ; dress, navy blue suit, bowler hat, white soft collar, fancy tie, fawn raincoat, pink striped shirt, boots. Told complainant he had come from Cooper's of Glasgow with a motor load of drapery for a local firm of drapers ( false). Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Hull. 124.— Withernsea ( Co.). — For bigamy at Patrington, 17- 6- 22. - William Henry Arthur Robinson, aliases William Robinson and Davies, b. 1883, 5ft. 5 or 6in., c. fresh, h. ( curly) It. brown, 1. thumb nail deformed, butterfly rt. wrist, bust of woman 1. forearm. A seaman; native of Troedyrhiw. Warrant issued. Lif. to Supt. Jackson, Withernsea. ' SUSSEX ( WEST). 121.-- steyning ( Co.).— For leaving hisAwife and family chargeable to the Common Fund of the Steyning Union. George A. Day, b.\ 1892, 5ft, 8in., h. dk., e. blue, clean shaven, sailor's head and G. D. forearm, slightly deaf. Warrant issued. inf. to Supt. Gibbons, Steyuing.
