APPREHENSIONS SOUGHT— contintied. ST. ALBANS. Called on doctor, stated he was manager of local public house ( false), and that he was forming a gymnastic club for boys of 14 yrs. and upwards. Said 95 per cent of the boys elected the doctor as president of the club and that of £ 20 required to buy an outfit, £ 16 had been sub- cribed by the boys parents and incuced the doctor to give him £ 5 5s. Derby ( Boro.).— For obtaining food and lodgings by false pretences.— Claude Henry Hammond, aliases Reginald Hall, Henry Hammond and Reginald Rawston, C. R. O. No. 48- 22, Cases Nos. 87, Supplement A ( Vol. XI.) and 10, 10- 3- 24, b. 1893, 5ft, 3 Jin., c. dk., h. dk. brown, e. blue, clean shaven, slight lisp ; dress, navy blue suit, grey trilby hat, fawn raincoat, collar and tie, brown shoes. A shop assistant; native of Rugby. Pre. con. of fraud, larceny and minor offences at NORTHAMPTON, COVENTRY, LLANDUDNO, RUGBY. FLEETWOOD. SOUTHPORT, NUNEATON, BLACKBURN ( Claude Henry Hammond), LANCASTER ( Reginald Water- house) and on Y. Stated he had come from Leicester to commence work at Messrs. Rolls, Royce, Ltd., and had left his motor cycle at a local garage. Borrowed 5s. from loser, saying he would return it when he had cashed a cheque. Left 2nd inst., and failed to return. Torquay ( Co.).— For stealing property, Cases Nos. 76, 12- 3- 24, and 82, 3- 3- 24.— A Woman, b. 1894 to 1899, 5ft. 2 to 4in., foreign accent and appearance ; dress, brown coat and skirt, brown fur, close fitting hat ( trimmed flowers in front). In one case was found in the house, and on being questioned, stated she was looking for a Miss Wilkins, that a resident in same avenue had told her the person she wanted lived there, and in- structed her to walk straight in. Leicester ( City).- For obtaining £ 19 9s. 3d. by false pretences ( bogus rent collector), 10th inst. — A Man, b. 1889 to 1896, 5ft. 6 to 8in., c. pale, e. dk., clean shaven ; dress, brown and grojr mixture overcoat with velvet collar, bowler hat ( brim slightly damaged in front), black and white scarf. Called at several houses in same street and represented he had been sent by the agent to- collect the rents. He had apparently obtained information that the agent was ill and unable to attend to his duties. Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Leicester. LINCOLNSHIRE. 11. ( turning grey), clean shaven, broad shoulders, Colonial appearance ; dress, grey suit, broad brimmed grey felt hat, It. overcoat, brown boots. Stated he was an Australian sheep farmer, and that he was buying pedigree sheep for his ranch, and obtained the names of prominent sheep farmers in the district. Also stated that he had a Rolls- Roj'ce motor car, which he had abandoned in the snow, but which would arrive later with his chauffeur. Left 10th inst., booked to Perth, but did not leave the train there. Spoke of going to Edinburgh, Sheriff's warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Elgin.
