Appearance of farmer. Called at cycle dealers, selected cycle and acces- sories, stated he had not sufficient cash and induced loser to cash cheque on National Provincial & Union Bank of England, Cromwell- road, London Branch, in favour of James Sander, signed C. Collins & Co., Ltd., and received above amount in change. Promised to take delivery of cycle the following day but failed to do so. On cheque being paid into bank it was returned marked No Account, Warrant issued. Inf. to the D. C. C., Gloucester. KENT. 8.— Margate ( Boro.).— For obtaining £ 450 by false pretences, 18- 12- 23. - George Richard Rowland b. about 1874, 5ft. 5in., c. sallow, h. and moustache dk., bad teeth, rather round shoulders. Formerly a motor bus proprietor and cycle agent and repairer. May start a similar business or that of repairing typewriters and automatic machines. Has letters addressed care of G. P. O. in district where he is living. Accompanied by his wife and son, b. about 1905 ( neither wanted). Latter may seek employ- ment as car driver or electrician. May endeavour to proceed to Australia or New Zealand. Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Margate. 9.— Tonbridge ( Co.).— For obtaining £ 10 by false pretences ( worthless cheque) at Edenbridge, 18th ult.— Ethel Hitchings, aliases Edith Taylor, Gladys Goodwin, Ethel Mont, Ethel Moat and Peggy North, C. R. O. No. 3002- 23, Case No. 115, 13- 2- 24, b. 1889, 5ft, 7iu., e. ruddy, h. brown, e. blue. A cook housekeeper; native of London. Pre. con. of fraud at WITHAM. Called on a butcher, and tendered cheque for above amount on London County Westminster and Parrs Bank, Victoria Street, Westminster Branch, which has since been returned. Warrant issued. Inf. to Supt. Ford, Tonbridge. LANCASHIRE. 10. Ashton- under- Lyne ( Boro.).— For stealing ( servant) £ 200, during month prior to 12th inst.— Thomas Rayson, b. 1875, 5ft. 7 or 8in., slender build, c. It., clean shaven, stoops, wore eyeglasses with round lens ; dress, brown nap overcoat, It. cap. Native of Liverpool. Was employed as manager by the Provincial Cinematograph Thea- tres, Ltd. Has also acted as advance agent for theatrical companies, and may endeavour to find similar employment. Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Ashton- under- Lyne. 11. Burnley ( Boro.).— For housebreaking ( breaking kitchen window with hammer near catch), 15th inst., and stealing gent's gunmetal keyless watch, Russell on dial ( illuminated), loose wheel inside; gent's silver chronograph, centre seconds stop, Dickinson on dial, photograph of girl inside case ; gent's single rolled gold albert, with shield shaped gold medal, raised centre, attached ; lady's 9ct. necklet, fine links, heart shaped openwork pendant, green stone in centre and green stone drop, plain at back, attached ; lady's gold ring, set pearl in centre and 2 red stones; lady's 9ct. do., set 3 opals, shaft has been pieced together and shows different colour of gold ; part of old- fashioned silver guard, about 2ft. long, brass swivel.— Two Men, each b. 1894, 5ft. 6 or 7in., medium build, one limps slightly, one wore cap ; respectable appearance. Manchester ( City).— For stealing ( dwelling), 7th inst., picture, blouse, skirt and blanket.— James Egan, b. 1876, 5ft. 4in., slim build, h. and moustache grey, e. blue, walks badly, fingers bent with rheumatism ; dress, dk. grey coat and vest, blue serge trousers, It. brown overcoat, bowler hat, hospital boots. Obtained loan of tools to commence em- ployment as fitter, was discharged after two days, and sold the tools to a fellow employee.
