Marshall, Chorley. 73.— Wigan ( Co.).— On 27th ult., an attempt was made to break into a Roman Catholic church at Ince, a window leading to coal cellar being forced with a chisel about | in. wide,, nothing was, how- ever, stolen. Also on 27th or 28th ult., the Parish Church at Ince was broken into, entrance being effected by duplicate key of vestry door. A safe weighing about 2cwts., containing money and silver plate, was removed to railway about 50yds. away and an unsuccessful attempt made to force it with iron bar.
