GLAMORGANSHIRE. 12.— Treharris ( Co.).— For stealing ( bailee), motor cycle, December last.— George Percival Jones, b. about 1903, 5ft, 7 or 8in., proportionate build, c. fresh, h. dk., clean shaven ; dress, usually blue or grey suit. In early December loser met with accident to his motor cycle at Caerphilly and was wheeling it through the town when he met Jones who was given the machine to repair. On 24th ult., Jones offered the cycle for sale, and on 14th inst. it was found on roadside smashed up. Warrant issued. Inf. to Supt. Davies, Treharris. Paramour, Chatham. 16.— Maidstone ( Boro.).- For obtaining £ 5 by false pretences ( worthless cheque), 21st inst.— Gladys Goodwin, b. about 1894, aboutt5ft. 9in . slight build, c. fresh, e. brown, small mouth ; dress, long coat ( believed fawn). Called at a firm of engineers, stated the bank was closed, and wanted change for cheque No. 1418 on the London County and Westminster Bank, made payable to Gladys Goodwin, signed Horace Goodwin, for £ 10. Was given £ 5 and promised the balance the following day. The cheque when presented at the bank was returned marked Signature not known. Warrant Issued. Inf. to the C. C., Maidstone. 17.— Sittingbourne ( Co.).— For shopbreaking, at Sheerness, between 12th and 14th inst., and stealing, dinner jacket suit, 2 It. weight grey lounge suits, 5 suits silk pyjamas, 24 white hand- kerchiefs, several pairs gent's socks, all marked H. S. Hunt; cadet's green fibre trunk, leather corners, W. D. Pawson on top ; green suit- case, 26in. in length ; 24 ties, various colours; 36 flannel shirts, 4 pairs silk pyjamas, 6 white shirts, all marked Gieves ; pair flannel trousers ; several pairs socks, white and blue ; 2 soft felt hats ; 7 suit lengths, black material ; 1 do., grey.— Edward George Menday, C. R. O. No. 6448- 20, b. 1897, 5ft. 6in., c. fresh, h. LANCASHIRE. 18— Clitheroe ( Boro.).— For stealing ( bailee) June, 1923, 2 watches and lady's opal ring.— John Shaw, b. 1889, 5ft. 4 to 6in., c. sallow, h. dk. brown, clean shaven, oval face, talkative, slightly bow- legged ; dress, believed navy blue suit, soft collar and tie, dk. grey tweed cap, smart appearance, carries watch repairer's outfit wrapped in paper. A travelling watch repairer. Frequents public houses cleaning watches, clocks, etc. Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Clitheroe. 19.— Ormskirk ( Co.).— For stealing from tea rooms, 24th inst., gent's gold filled hunter watch, Lancashire Watch Co., Prescot, and Vigil inside case, white dial, gold fingers, Prescot on face ; 9ct. double albert, dog link pattern, 15ct. drop ( green glass one side, red other).— Two Men : 1st, gave name of John Vernon Dell, 5ft. 9 or 10in., c. sallow, h. dk. brown, e. dk. ; dress, blue melton overcoat, It. trilby hat ( American style), dk. trousers.— 2nd, b. 1901, 5ft. 4 or 5in., c. fresh, h. It., e. blue ; dress, It. grey overcoat, It. trilby hat. Called at the tea shop and had tea in room adjacent to that from which property was stolen. Both are suspected of visiting markets and stealing purses, etc. Inf. to Supt. Pagett, Ormskirk. 20.— Warrington ( Boro.).— For stealing from caravan, 26th or 27th inst., black goat skin rug, lined red flannel; 2 grey goat skin rugs, lined black sacking ; 2 red and white deer skin do , lined black sacking ; 5 jute rugs, red and blue, with flowers and animals thereon ; 2 square carpets ( 1 red and blue, 1 bluish- grey) ; basket containing lace, scrubbing brushes, nail brushes and hair combs.— Frank Linton, aliases Sheppeyson and Glovedale, b. 1886 to 1890, 5ft. 4in., stiff build, c. fair, h. sandy, full face, clean shaven, several scars on hps ; dress, brown jacket and vest, new blue trousers, It. cap, black overcoat ( pocket torn and hanging down), soft striped collar, tie. C., Warrington. 21.— Widnes ( Co.).— For obtaining food and lodgings by false pretences, 22nd or 23rd inst.— Jonas Christie, aliases Harold Mansfield and Sylvanus Mansefield, C. R. O. No. 1521- 20, Case No. 10 current issue for description, etc., dress, grey jacket, blue trousers and vest, soft white collar, black and red striped tie, navy blue cap with shiny peak, shoes. Falsely represented she was inheriting a large sum of money, and obtained above sum, ostensibly to pay lawyer's fees. Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Brighton. 25.— Hove ( Boro.).— For stealing ( servant), between 21st and 25th inst., lady's diamond cluster ring, set large diamond in centre, surrounded by 8 small diamonds, and 1 diamond on each shank ; lady's half hoop 5- stone turquoise ring, set gold ; gold slave bangle, medium thickness.— Mabel Gillett, C. R. O. No. 20073- 23, b. 1894, 5ft., c. swarthy, h. and e. brown, mole rt. of face. Native of Brighton, where she has con. for fraud. C., Hull. 30.— Hull ( City).— For obtaining by false pre- tences, 14th inst., crocodile hide blouse case, 22in. by 16in. by 8in., leather handle, cream silk lining, 2 plated lever locks, fitted with 4 fluted glass bottles, ebony backed hair brush, clothes brush and mirror.— A.
