CHESHIRE. 5.— Chester ( City).— For stealing ( confidence trick) £ 4 17s.— Two Men : lst, b. about 1873, 5ft. 3 to 5in., slender build, c. sallow, moustache grey, long thin nose, turns feet outwards ; dress, fawn raincoat ( grease marks rt. side), dk. striped trousers, butterfly collar, dk. tie.— 2nd, b. about 1893, 5ft 6 to 8in., thick set, c. and h. dk. ; dress, It. brown mackintosh, trilby hat, wore gold rimmed eyeglasses with gold chain over ear. Loser was accosted by the first man, who enquired the address of a certain office, but he was unable to tell him. He then asked the second man the address, and on being informed, told both he was about to lay some money on a billiard match that had already been played. The first man met loser in the street, stated he had come from Chester, and asked to be directed to the Central Offices. On the way he suggested to loser that he should ask the second man, whom they met, where the offices were, as he had somo money to draw over a horse. The first man then left the other two, returned shortly afterwards, stated ho had won £ 80 for his boss, that he had put somo money on for himself and was requested by the second man to put 10s. on for him. Eventually loser was induced to hand over £ 5 10s., to be placed on a horse, and after making excuses both men left loser, promising to return, but failed to do so. Warrant issued. Inf. to tho C. C., Northampton. x 13.- Wellingborough ( Co.).- Harold Charles de Vere Percival, Case No. 60, 10- 12- 23, is identical with Harold Percival, C. R. O. No. 21034- 18, b. 1897, Oft. 1 Jin., c. fresh, h. dk. brown, e. brown, rt. elbow contracted. Native of London. Pre. con. of fraud and larceny at BOURNEMOUTH and on B. Visited a farm in Norfolk during strike of farm hands, became engaged to a lady who has a sister employed as secretary to large share- holder of Shell Marketing Co., and by claiming to be entitled to Victoria Cross and D. S. O., obtained post as superintendent with Shell Com- pany. It was later ascertained that he was not entitled to tho decorations referred to, and the Director of Public Prosecutions gave instructions for a warrant to be applied for. Warrant issued.
