CONFIDENTIAL Supplement B POLICE GAZETTE No. 40. FRIDAY, OCTOBER 5, 1928. VOL. X. Convicts on Licence, Persons under Police Supervision and others whose apprehensions are sought for failing to comply with the Requirements of the Prevention of Crimes Act. Those bearing names marked * are Licence Holders, and should produce their licences. The first condition of a licence is that the holder shall preserve it and produce it when called upon by a Magistrate or Police Officer ; but it should be distinctly understood that a Licence Holder it not required to carry hit licence upon Mm. Before preferring a charge of failing to produce a licence it should be ascertained what the defaulter has to say vidi Sec. 6, Sub- Sec. 1, 7 & 21 Vict., Cap. 47, which requires a Licence Holder to produce his licence or show tome reason- able excute why he does not produce the same. N. B.— When a circulation is cancelled, the printed matter relating to the person in question might be ruled through in red ink, without defacing the portrait. f Licence Holders and Supervisees. ( which expires 3- 4- 24) for larceny. Liberated from subsequent sentence, 18- 8- 23, from Dorchester Prison. Failed to report. Pre. con. of larceny, minor offences and sub- sequently of minor offences. Known to police at LEWES, ALRESFORD, DARTFORD, WOKINGHAM, SITTING- BOURNE, HAYWARD'S HEATH, DORK- ING, CIRENCESTER, ALTON, LEATHER- HEAD, FAREHAM, POOLE and on V, W and X. No. 4352- 19, b. 1893, 5ft. 9in., c. fair, h. black, e. brown, woman's head and maple leaf 1. forearm. Motor mechanic or stoker ; native of Australia. Sentenced at C. L. S., 25- 1- 21, to 3 yrs. pen. for warehousebreaking, shopbreaking and larceny. Liberated on licence, 8- 5- 23, to Southampton. No. 7617- 19, b. 1901, 5ft. 3in„ 6008- 20, b. 1902, 5ft. 2in., c. sallow, h. It. brown, e. blue, scar 1st rt. finger. A carman ; native of London. c. fresh, h. and c. brown, In memory of my dear father and crcss rt., Elsie, flowers and clasped hands I. forearm. A tailor; native of Notting- ham. Sentenced at C. L. S., 29- 6- 20, to 3 yrs. detention in a B. I. for wandering abroad and lodging out. Liberated on licence, 26- 1- 23, to the care of the B. A. Sentenced at Nottingham ( City) Ass., 22- 6- 20, to 3 and 3 yrs. detention ( conc.) in a B. I. for warehousebreaking, shopbreaking, countinghouse- breaking and forgery. Liberated on licence, 25- 8- 22, to the care of* the B. A. On discharge returned to his home at Hoxton ( L.), left there at the end of July and his present whereabouts cannot be traced. On discharge returned to his home at Notting- ham. Left home in October, joined the Army and has now been lost sight of. Pre. con. of, attempted larceny and being on enclosed premises. Pre. con. of cyclestealing and minor offence. Known to police on H. 0 If arrested a telegram or telephonic message should be sent to C. R. O., when arrangements will be made for an escort to fetch him. Known to police at NOTTINGHAM. If arrested a telegram or telephonic message should be sent to C. R. O., when arrangements will be made for an escort to fetch him. The licence will expire 28- 6- 24, after which date he must not on any account be arrested by the police. POLICE GAZETTE SUPPLEMENT B. 3 Persons Licensed from a Borstal Institution— continued. C. R. O. 251.— For failing to comply with the conditions of his licence, which has been revoked.— Herbert Stanley Kneeshaw, C. R. O. No. 15676- 20, b. 1903, Sentenced at Wakefield ( W. R.) Sess., 18- 10- 23, to 3 yrs. detention in a B. I. for embezzlement. Liberated on licence, 3- 5- 23, to the care of the B. A. On discharge returned to his home at Heck- mondwike. Will not stay at work, wanders about and has been to Leeds and Huddersfield. Disappeared at the end of August and his where- abouts cannot be traced. Pre. con. of larceny. Known to police at BRADFORD, DEWSBURY and HUDDERSFIELD. If arrested a telegram or telephonic message should be sent to C. R. O., when arrangements will be made for an escort to fetch him. The licence will expire 17- 10- 24, after which 5ft. 0 § in., c. fresh, h. brown, e. grey. A baker's date he must not on any account be arrested by apprentice ; native of Low Moor. police. Apprehensions. k- 252.— Herbert Riley, C. R. O. No. 190- 23, Case No. 241 ( Vol. X.) at Stafford. 253.— Benjamin Richards, C. R. O. No. 2281- 15, Case No. 242 ( Vol. X.), is in custody at Neath, charged under the Prevention of Crimes Act. - > Apprehensions bought. 254.— William Henry Hawkins, C. R. O. No. 1640- 255.— Mary McDonald, C. R. O. No. 11096- 20, 05, Case No. 75 ( Vol. X.). Not now wanted. Case No. 174 ( Vol. X.), died 18- 9- 23. Memorandum. Charles Vincent, C. R. O. No. 996- 03, Case No. 112 ( Vol. X.). Warrant issued. Original notice to be amended accordingly.
