No. M/ 7151, Case No. 38 current issue, in shooting with intent to murder in post office hold up, 11th inst.— A Man, b. 1887, 5ft. 6 or 7in., medium build, c. pale, h. very dk. ( brushed well back), clean shaven ; dress, blue serge suit, collar and tie, respectable appearance. Believed native of America. In possession of revolver and will probably use it to resist arrest. May endeavour to leave the country as a stowaway. Inf. to the C. C., Liverpool. 5.— Manchester ( City).— For embezzling £ 21 17s. 6d., 13th July, 1922.— Henry Charles Rowlands, alias Harry Rowlands, b. 1885, 5ft. 6in., slim build, c. pale, h. dk. brown, e. blue- grey, clean shaven, false upper teeth, stammers, slow gait, vacant expression; dress, black suit, fawn trilby hat, collar, grey knitted tie, black or brown shoes, usually wears heavy brown overcoat. Was em- ployed by loser as secretary and cashier. Absconded 10th inst. Warrant issued. Inf. to the O. A grocer ; native of Hoyland. Pre. con. of larceny cyclestealing receiving fraud and housebreaking' at YORK. NEWCASTLE, BINGLEY, CARLISLE ( Percival Baker), BLACKPOOL, SOITHPORT. GLASGOW, LEEDS and DEWSBURY ( Percy Baker). Represented himself as the proprietor of the Silverite Coy., and advertised in local press for partner for an Edinburgh firm. Informed applicant that he desired partner for above company and intended opening a business locally, and obtained £ 200. It has since been ascertained that his statements are false. Accompanied by a woman ( not wanted), b. 1887, 5ft. 6in., medium build, c. and h. dk., Scottish accent. Left 10th inst. for Leeds, and left latter place following day stating he was going to Manchester. May be found in company of music hall and theatrical people. NOTTINGHAMSHIRE. 8.— Nottingham ( City).— For obtaining £ 1 by false pretences, 21st ult.— Ted Merry, b. 1888, 5ft. 5in., medium build, c. fresh, h. fair ( inclined sandy), sandy moustache, pointed features ; dress, dk. jacket, cheek cap, blue overalls with bib, boots. A farm labourer. Obtained above amount from shopkeeper by stating that his employer had lent liim a horse and dray to remove his furniture to Nottingham, that on the journey he had collided with a motor van and he had paid a farmer £ 2 7s. to bring the furniture to Nottingham for storage. No description of the motor car can be obtained, but numerous pieces of glass were picked up in the roadway at the scene of the accidents, which would denote that the windscreen was badly broken, and no doubt the car will be shewing other signs of damage. • It is requested that enquiries be made at all garages, hotels, and other likely places, with a view to tracing this car. Greenock ( Boro.).— For obtaining food and lodgings by false pretences, between 24th ult. and llth inst.- Sister Cameron, b. 1878 to 1883. 5ft. 6in., red pimply face, h. black ( slightly grey), red nose ( small sore 1. side), freckles on forehead ; dress, nurse's uniform, large blue cape, carried an attache- case. Stated native of Inverness and that she was Sister in Western Infirmary, Glasgow : also that her father Is a doctor. Left behind small quantity clothing including collars ( 1 marked Harrods Stores, Nurses' Dept.) and aprons marked Sister McDonald. Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Greenock." STAFFORDSHIRE. 113. Burton- on- Trent ( Co.).— For obtaining credit by fraud.— Fred Fuller, alias Gooch, b. 1874, 5ft. 9in., slender build, c. very sallow, h. ( bald on top) dk., clean shaven, hollow cheeks, very plausible, good horseman ; dress, grey check suit, brown overcoat, trilby hat. A horse trainer ; Called on motor car proprietor, stated he was a pensioned Indian Cavalry officer, shortly expected a draft of £ 1500 to £ 1800, and hired car to take him to Droitwich to fetch his wife. On arrival at latter place, borrowed 30s. from driver, and staved night. Following morning said he was going to see his wife and would be ready to return to Burton * t 1 p. m. Driver then received a wire from Fuller at Bir. ningham asking driver to wait till 4.30, and failed to put in an appearance. Warrant issued. Inf. to Supt. Heath, Burton. on- Trent.
