Was employed as deputy lodging house keeper, received £ 6 7s. lOd. on behalf of his employers, converted same to his own use and absconded. Warrant Issued. Inf. to C. R. O. APPREHENSIONS SOUGHT. METROPOLITAN POLICE DISTRICT. 1.— Criminal Record Office.— For forgery at Regina, Canada.— Harold Fisher, b. 1888, 5ft, 10in., h. fair, clean shaven, near sighted and wears heavy lens glasses ; dress, greenish brown overcoat and usually cap. Wears good clothes, but dresses carelessly. A Canadian barrister. Warrant issued. Inf. to above office. 2.— Criminal Record Office.— For offences against bankruptcy law of Australia ( defalcations amounting to £ 6000).— Joseph Isaac Falk, b. 1857, 5ft. 9in., h. dk. ( turning grey), e. black, scar 1. temple, clean shaven. Warrant issued. Inf. to above office. 4.— M Division.— For falsification of accounts. — Richard Maloney, b. 1876, 5ft. llin., stout build, h. dk. ( turning grey), full face, stoops slightly and walks slowly, wears spectacles ; dress, dk. mixture suit and overcoat, bowler hat. Is said to be a solicitor and a native of Cork. Whilst employed as Managing Director and Secretary falsified various bank paying- in slips, etc. Has posted letters at Liverpool and Manchester stating his intention to commit suicide. May associate wdth provision merchants. Warrant issued. Inf. to C. R. O. DURHAM. 5.— West Hartlepool ( Co.).— For stealing brown leather attache- case and contents, seaman's kit bag and contents ( recovered with the exception of following articles): dk. green raincoat, 2 uniform caps, 2 linen collars ( size 15i), 3 white handker- chiefs, grey singlet, German make razor, lather brush, engineering book, brown leather attache- case.— Joseph Harrison, b. 1887, 5ft. 6 or 7in., ( j THE POLICE GAZETTE. Later called at cloak room, asked for the luggage, stated he had lost the voucher but was able to give the number, and was handed the property. Inf. to Supt. Thomas, West Hartlepool. 6.— West Hartlepool ( Co.).— For stealing ( lodgings), 17th or 18th inst., dk. grey rough check tweed jacket and vest ; pair men's boots, rubber soles and heels ; and £ 4 10s.- Albert Duncan, alias Watson, b. 1902, 5ft. 6 or 7in., stout build, c. fresh, h. fair ( inclined to ginger), e. blue, prominent teeth, stoops ; dress, stolen clothing and boots, navy blue trousers ( much worn). West Hartlepool ( Co.).— For stealing ( dwelling), between 9th and 16th inst., gent's small silver Geneva watch, plain face, clock numerals, slight dent outer case near hinge; small nickel plated do., gilt mark around numerals, in green wrist strap.— Robert Martin, aliases Robert John Martin and John Robert Robins, C. R. O. No. 15071- 18, b. 1901, 5ft. Gin., c. fresh, h. It. brown, e. grey. Native of Beverley. Pre. con. of larceny, fraud and a minor offence at WOLSINGHAM, DURHAM, LANCHESTER, UCKFIELD ( Robert Martin), MIDDLES- BROUGH ( Robert Young), and GATESHEAD ( John Robert Martin). Occupied same bedroom as loser and left without paying his bill. Inf. to Supt. Thomas, West Hartlepool. GLAMORGANSHIRE. 8.— Neath ( Co.).— For obtaining credit by fraud at Port Talbot, between 28th ult. and 1st inst.— Brinley Davies, b. 1894, 5ft. 10in., c. fresh, h. brown, e. grey, clean shaven, but sometimes grows small moustache, well spoken ; dress, It. mixture sports coat, grey flannel trousers, fawn trench coat, It. cap, smart appearance. Telephones hotel keepers from distant town, asks if he can be accommodated, arrives few hours later without luggage, engages rooms, stops for a few days and absconds without paying. Warrant issued. Inf. to Supt. Evans, Neath. ISLE OF MAN. 9. Douglas. - For larceny - Louis Black, alias Schwartzman, b. 1892 to 1897, about 5ft. 5in., c. sallow, h. black, e. grey or blue, one gold tooth ; dress, blue suit, dk. grey overcoat with belt at back, bowler hat, smart appearance. A drapery sales- man ; native of Glasgow. Absconded 13th inst., and may endeavour to leave the country for Canada or America. Known amongst Jewish community in Manchester and Leeds. Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Douglas. LANCASHIRE. 10.— Old Trafford ( Co.).— For stealing ( trick) 24 eggs, 16th inst.- A Man, b. about 1892, 5ft. 5 or 6in., medium build, c. fresh, h. dk., clean shaven, long features, high cheekbones ; dress, dk. grey trousers, It. fawn raincoat, collar, tic, dk. grey cap. Carried stick. Entered shop and asked to lie supplied with 24 eggs, which were packed in a box. Then asked for some margarine and while- this was being obtained said he would place the eggs in carriage outside shop, and absconded. Inf. to Supt. Yates, Old Trafford. 11.— Old Trafford ( Co.).— For obtaining cheque for £ 2 3s. 3d. by false pretenccs, 11th inst.— A. V. Wilson, b. about 1896, 5ft. 7in., medium build, c. fresh, h. dk. brown, clean shaven ; dress, navy blue overcoat, black trilby hat. Loser, a chemist, received a telephone message, purporting to come from a Manchester firm of Manufacturing Chemists, stating that one of the firm's cars had broken down and asking loser if he would advance the man the cost of repairs. Later Wilson called and was given above cheque. Warrant issued. Inf. to Supt. Yates, Old Trafford. 12 — Reedley ( Co.).— For stealing grey Mongolian. fox fur ( recovered), 14th inst.— Mrs. Johnson, b. about 1862, 5ft., stiff build, c. fresh, h. dk., full round face, shuffling gait, Irish accent; dress, dk. coat and skirt, dk. coloured wrap over head. Higgs, Bilston. 17.— Walsall ( Boro.).— For stealing from bed- rooms of public- houses, 15th inst., £ 25 War Saving certificate, issued to Harry Marsh, 111, Wolverhampton Road, Walsall, at Stafford Street Post Office, Walsall; hook of 12 War Saving certificates, issued at Manor Road Post Office, Walsall, to same person ; lady's 18ct. cameo ring, with claret coloured oval shaped stone with figure of man's head thereon ; lady's 9ct. do., set 3 diamonds ; pair 18ct. earrings, screw fasteners, small gold nugget attached ; large door key ; and 5 £ 1 Treasury notes.— A Man, b. about 1899, 5ft. 6 or 7in., c. dk., clean shaven, North Country accent: dress, dk. grey suit, black or blue overcoat ( shaped to waist, with velvet collar), bowler hat ( high crown), white linen double collar with black and white knitted tie, carried brown leather attache- case. Stated he was a commercial traveller. In first case was found in smoke room of public- house after premises had been closed ; when challenged by licensee stated he had entered by front door and asked to be allowed to use lavatory. He failed to return and certificates were missed from box in bedroom. In other case, after purchasing drink, asked way to lavatory, and was seen later in kitchen and upon alarm being raised he decamped. Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Walsall. SUFFOLK ( WEST). — Newmarket ( Co.).— Thomas Alden, Case No. 5, 18- 12- 22, is identical with Thomas Richard Alden, alias Richard Alden, C. R. O. Pre. con. of fraud, shopbreaking, fowlstealing, larceny and minor offences at NORWICH and SWAINSTHORPE. Obtained furs from man soiling same in market, stating he had customers for them. Farren, Atherstone, on the inside of case.— A Man, b. 1897 to 1902, oft. 9 or 10in., medium build, c. pale, h. black ( brushed well back), e. brown, wore pince- nez, well spoken and of good address ; dress, black suit, gre}' and white check cap, collar, small black and white bow, white cotton muffler, black brogue shoes. Called on loser, stated he was an architect and had come from Lichfield to alter plans for local builder ( false) and would require lodgings for two days. Left house next day and after his departure above described jewellery was missed. Warrant issued. Inf. to Supt. Spencer, Nuneaton. 20.— Rugby ( Co.).— For obtaining £ 5 10s. by false pretences, 4- 10- 22.— James Bernard Dolan, abas Vivian Bernard Dolan, b. 1898, 5ft. 3Jin., medium build, h. brown, e. blue, lame ( believed rt. leg). Stayed at an hotel and telephoned loser whom he had met once before and stated he had passed his final examination sis doctor. Loser came to hotel and Dolan stated he was being sent by Leeds University to Paris to lecture medical students. Stated he had left his wallet at hotel in London and loser gave him 12s. 6d. and following day wired Dolan £ 4 17s. 6d. Later tried to obtain further sum of £ 20 and it was subsequently found that he was unknown at Leeds University. Warrant issued. Inf. to Supt. Clarke, Rugby.
