CONFIDENTIAL THE POLICE Supplement B GAZETTE No. 47. FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 24, 1922. VOL. IX. Convicts on Licence, persons under Police Supervision and others whose apprehensions are ( ought for failing to comply with the reauirements of the Prevention of Crimes Act. , Those bearing names marked • are Licence Holders, and should produce their licences. The first condition of a licence is that the holder shall preserve it and produce it when called upon by a Magistrate or Police Officer ; but it should be distinctly understood that a Licence Holder is not required to carry hit hcence upon him. Before preferring a charge of failing to produce a licence it should be ascertained what the defaulter has to say vid° Sec. 5, Sub- Sec. I, 7 . fc 28 Vict., Cap. 47, which requires a Licence Holder to vroduce his licence or show Mine reasonable excuse why he does not produce the same. N. A farm labourer ; native of ( says Calais, Devonport, Egypt, North- ampton, etc.). Sentenced at Knutsford Sess., 7- 1- 20, to 3 yrs. pen ( remanet of former sentence), for warehouse- breaking and larceny. Liberated on licence ( which expires 6- 10- 23) 27- 10- 22, to Manchester. Failed to report. Pre. con. of burglary, larceny, sacrilege, house- breaking, receiving, warehousebreaking and a minor offence. Known to police at BEDALE, SALISBURY, BRADFORD- ON- AVON, NEWPORT, WOR- CESTER, RAGLAN, BRECON, PONTYPRIDD, ABERCORN, BRIDGEND, SHEFFIELD and MACCLESFIELD. DONCASTER. 234.—* John Gibson, aliases Thomas Reed, Thomas Kershaw and John Dixon, C. R. O. No. 2940- 01, b. 1857,. 5ft. 5in., c. fresh, h. grey ( bald on top), e. grey ^ rt. one blind), large pointed nose, scars forehead, back of neck, 1. forearm and wrist. Is classed as weakminded. A labourer ; native of Leeds. Sentenced at Beverley ( E. R.) Sess., 29- 6- 20, to 3 yrs. pen., for larceny. Liberated on licence 4- 10- 22, to Doncaster. Failed to report. Reported his arrival on release, 4- 10- 22, and has not since been heard of. Pre. con. of larceny, cyclestealing, burglary and minor offences. Known to police at PONTEFRACT, BARNS- LEY, KNARESBOROUGH, WETHERBY, YORK, WHITBY, SHERBURN, LEEDS, DONCASTER, WATH, BEDALE. LEVEN, SELBY, GOOLE, RETFORD, OTLEY, WORK- SOP, CASTLEFORD. Sentenced at C. L. S., 16- 12- 19, to 3 yrs. pen. ( remanet of former sentence) for larceny. Liberated on licence ( which expires 13- 9- 23) 4- 10- 22, into the M. P. D. Failed to make his monthly report at King's Cross Road Sta. ( L.), 4- 11- 22. Officer proving service of notice, P. S. Lloyd, C. R. O. Officer proving identity, P. C. Duester, 456C. A seaman; native of, says, Blackburn, Bolton and Australia. Sentenced at C. L. S., 3- 6- 19, to 3 yrs. pen. for burglary and larceny. Liberated on 2nd licence ( which expires 20- 1- 23), 16- 11- 22, to Fleetwood. Failed to notify his change of address 20- 11- 22. Pre. con. of burglary, larceny and minor offences and subsequently of burglary and larceny. Known to Police at BLACKBURN, BLACK- POOL, THORNABY- ON- TEES, KIRKHAM, LYTHAM and on P. Inf. to Supt., Fleetwood. BRISTOL. 238.—"" Charles Hutchinson, aliases Herbert Charles Fenn and Hubert Charles Fenn, C. R. O. No. 278- 16, b. 1892, 5ft. 10in., c. fresh, h. dk. brown, e. hazel, scar 1st and 4th 1. fingers and under rt. side chin. A tailor ; native of Worcester. Sentenced at C. C. C., 10- 9- 18, to 3 and 3 yrs. pen. ( conc.) for bigamy and larceny. Liberated on 2nd licence ( which expires 22- 1- 23), 16- 11- 22, to Bristol. Failed to notify his change of address 18- 11- 22. Pre. con. of larceny and subsequently of larceny and failing to report. Known to Police at DERBY, NOTTINGHAM, EVESHAM, STOCKPORT, BRISTOL and on E. Friday, November 24. 1922. POLICE GAZETTE SUPPLEMENT B. Persons Licensed from a Borstal Institution. Leach rt., I love Bert, I love Mother 1. forearm. A machinist; native of Kimberworth. Sentenced at Rotherham ( Boro.) Sess., 8- 10- 20, to 2 yrs. detention in a B. I. for larceny. Liberated 4- 9- 22, to the care of the Borstal Association. On her release she returned to Sheffield where a situation was found for her, but she did not take it up. She has been keeping late hours and is now lost sight of. Pre. con. of larceny. Known to police at SHEFFIELD and ROTHERHAM. If arrested, a telegram or telephonic message should be sent to C. R. O., when arrangements will be made for an escort to fetch her. The licence will expire 7- 10- 23, after which date she must not on any account be arrested by the police. Apprehensions. 240.— Louis Henderson, C. R. O. No. 2071- 07, Cafee No. 216 ( Vol. IX.), is in custody at Newport ( Mon.) charged with larceny. 1241.— Albert Jewell, C. R. O. No. 3231- 01, Case No. 218 ( Vol. IX.). was sentenced at Lambeth Pol. Ct. ( L.), 16- 11- 22, to 1 mo. impt., for failing to make his monthly report, Memorandum. William Fletcher, C. R. O. No. 75- 04, Case No. 127 ( Vol. IX.), warrant issued. Original notice should be amended accordingly. C. R. O. 239.— For failing to comply with the conditions of her licence wh'ch has been revoked.-— Agnes May Leach, C. R. O.
