May be in possession of British passport, No. 50138, issued for France.— John Samuel Hockey, C. R. O. These men are expert cardsharpers and confi- dence tricksters. Called on loser, represented himself as demonstrating agent for London makers of bath sprayers, solicited orders, which Joser refused to give without her husband's consent. Hodder left and returned later, told loser he had seen her husband, that she was to give him an order and pay the deposit, 15s., as; her husband had not the money on him ( false). Called on Central Aid Officer, 19th inst., and stated ho was an ex- Australian soldier. Produced a letter with Australia House, etc. thereon and asked for assistance. Lodging and board were found for him and on above date called on a fellow lodger at his work and obtained above sum from him by stating that ho had an appointment in London. ^ Warrant issued.
