Monday, February 6, 1922. APPREHENSIONS SOUGHT— continued. rimless pince- nez glasses which he dropped when making his escape, well spoken ; dress, dk. dyed British warm, grey trousers, It. trilby hat, collar and tie. Entered jeweller's shop just before closing time and handed a gold wristlet watch to an assistant to have a new glass fitted. The watch was handed to another assistant who took it to workshop at rear of premises. The man then requested to be shown a diamond ring in the window and the assistant placed a tray containing the stolen property on the counter. The man kept the assistant in conversation until the second assistant went to fetch the watch. As soon as this assistant had gone the man squirted some liquid into the eyes ot the assistant, temporarily blinding him, and snatched the property, left the shop and absconded on a motor cycle. The watch left behind is a 9ct. Geneva keyless wristlet, No. 50907 ( appears to have had an additional figure in front), square shaped, round silver dial, black Roman numerals, blue steel hands, To J. M. from Enid, 20- 6- 21, scratched inside, broad leather strap with nickel plated buckle. Inf. to Supt. Hopkins, Cheltenham. HAMPSHIRE. 5.— Southampton ( Boro.).— For stealing £ 2.— Frank Baker, b. 1899 ( looks older), 5ft. 4in., c. fresh, e. brown ( bulging), 2 moles rt. cheek ; dress, blue suit with white spots, grey trilby hat, brown boots or shoes. A kitchen porter. Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Southampton. LANCASHIRE. 6.— Bootle ( Boro.).— For obtaining 2s. 6d. by false pretences ( bogus message), 30th ult.— Warriner, b. 1882 to 1887, 5ft lOin . slim build, sandy moustache ; dress: It. fawn mackin- tosh, dk. trousers, It. grey cap, black boots. Called on loser, stated he was sent by her husband for the above amount to pay carriage on a parrot, which had been brought from abroad, and which was then at the railway station ( false). Obtained the money and did not return. Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Bootle. 7.— Manchester ( City).— For obtaining £ 10 by false pretences, 30th u'. t.— Arthur Rose, b. 1877, 5ft. 8in., medium build, brown moustache ( short clipped); Walks erectly; dress, dk. overcoat, green mixture tweed suit, collar, tie, bowler hat; wore an old- fashioned gold guard, snake pattern ; smart appearance. Carr. ed small dk. brown leather Gladstone bag, containing samples of glass ware and earthenware. Called on loser and represented himself to be a traveller for Austin Pottery Coy., Stoke- on- Trent ( false), and induced loser to give him above amount for an order for pots and glassware. Appears identical with A. Rose, Case No. 92, 23- 12- 21. Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Manchester. 8.— Manchester ( City).— For stealing ( servant) £ 15 10s., 31st ult Edith or Nellie Wilson, b. 1887, 5ft. 2in., stout build, c. sallow, h. fair, e. grey, thin face ; dress, black skirt and blouse. Was engaged as servant on 24th ult., and left 31st ult., after which it was found that a trunk in bedroom had been forced and above amount in Treasury notes and cash had been stolen. Warrant issued. LANCASHIRE. 55.— Manchester ( City).— For warehousebreak- ing ( climbing yard wall, gaining access by window and forcing 2 inner doors) and stealing, 14th ult— Raincoat; overcoat; 8 pairs scissors.— John Henry Williams, alias Yorky, C. R. O. No. 6837- 17, b. 1899, 5ft. 7£ in., medium build, c. fresh, h. and e. brown, clean shaven, walks erectly; dress, blue serge suit, white muffler. It. cap. A hawker ; native of Sheffield. Inf. to the C. C., Manchester. MIDLOTHIAN. 56. Edinburgh ( City).— For obtaining by false pretences, waterproof coats, between 1- 6- 21 and 25- 7- 21. A Man, name believed to be G. Pound, b. 1860, 5ft. 8 or 9in., medium build, c. fresh, h. grey ( bald on top), clean shaven. About the beginning of June, 1921, a firm trading as Messrs. Pawson Bros., General Merchants, started business at 44, High- street, Hampton Wick, Middlesex, and gave a, s references Arthur Dye, Manufacturers Agent, 62, Montague- road, Hounslow, Middlesex, and William Baker, 22, St. Leonards- road, East Sheen, Surrey, both of which were afterwards found to be false. Warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C.. Edinburgh. 57.-— Edinburgh ( City).— For stealing from a railway station, two parcels ( recovered), 27- 12- 21. - Andrew Masson Wood, alias Andrew Hasson GOING TO PRESS— 9.30 a. m. Wood, C. R. O. No. 4624- 20, b. 1897, 5ft. l£ in., medium build, c. fresh, h. and e. brown ; dress, dirty grey suit, cap, muffler and black boots. A labourer ; native of Leith. C., Edinburgh. 58.— Edinburgh ( City).— For obtaining by false pretences board and lodgings and £ 3, between 30- 10- 21 and 12- 11- 21— William Munro, l » . 1896, 5ft. 10 or llin., slim build, c. fresh, h. reddish fair, moustache ( slight) fair, walks erectly ; dress, dk. grey worsted suit, black bowler hat, collar, dk. tie, smart appearance. Represented that he was an Inspector in the Royal Irish Constabulary, and induced a hotel proprietor to let him have board and lodging and the above amount. Was dis- charged from the Royal Irish Auxiliary Force in March last, and has since visited Kingussie, Inver- ness- shire, where he is wanted for theft of a bicycle. Warrant issued. Inf to the C. C., Edinburgh. 59.— Edinburgh ( City).— For stealing ( dwelling), 21st ult.— Leather pocket book, containing £ 16 iu Treasury notes ; deposit receipt for £ 100 on the Commercial Bank of Scotland, Home Street Branch ; and an Edinburgh Savings Bank book showing credit balance of £ 20, both in favour of Isabella Wallace.— Margaret Jane Richardson, aliases Margaret O'Malley, Teresa Burke, Teresa O'Connor, Miss Cesera, Teresa O'Sullivan, Mrs. Cameron, Winnie O'Connor, Teresa Murray, Teresa Allen, Bridget Connelly and Tracey Murray. C. R. O. No. 2681- 99, Cases Nos. 77,9- 12- 21,182 Sup- plement A ( Vol. VI I.), and 126 Supplement B ( Vol. VIII.), b. 1868, 5ft 0£ in., slim build, c. sallow, h. brown, e. grey ( wears spectacles), several teeth missing upper jaw ; dress, brown or black skirt, black blouse, fawn rainproof coat with black band 1. sleeve. A laundress ; native of Dublin. Pre. con. of fraud and larceny at BELFAST ( Catherine Teresa Rea or Wilson, Fanny Gill or Preston and Teresa Angus), DUBLIN ( Maria McKenna), BURNLEY ( Kathleen O'Malley), CORK ( Teresa Fitzgerald), PORTSMOUTH ( Teresa Sarsfield), BRISTOL, LIVERPOOL ( Teresa Rea) and on V and Y. Obtained situation as cook and two days later absconded taking the above property, etc., from the box of a fellow servant. Sheriff's warrant issued. Inf. to the C. C., Edinburgh.
