SPECIAL NOTICE METROPOLITAN POLICE DISTRICT. 1.— Criminal Record Office.— Special attention is called to the below described men who are strongly suspected of wilful murder in Germany, 26- 8- 21— Heinrich Schulz, C. R. O. No. M/ 6698, b. 1893, about 5ft. 7in., thin build, h. fair, clean shaven ( or may have a close cut moustache), top of 1. ear at back cut off and jagged, walks erectly. A merchant. — Heinrich Tillessen, b. 1894, 5ft. 5 to 7in., rather thick set, h. dk., clean shaven ( or may have a close cut moustache), bluish mark over bridge of nose. A law student. These men may arrive in this country as passengers, sailors or stowaways. If found they are to be detained. Warrants issued in Germany, and if found in this country extradition will be demanded. Inf. to above office. 3.— S Division— For stealing, 26th ult.— Neckchain ( recovered) ; purse ; small gold cross : and cash. - Eleanor or Nellie Turner, b. 1903, 5ft., stout build, h. dk. brown ( straight, bobbed), e. brown, plausible ; dress, blue stockingette dress with brown collar and cuffs, blue felt hat, or brown straw hat trimmed blue band with white spots, grey covert coat. Native of Salford. A fellow servant placed above property in a drawer in Turner's room, and missed same on 25th ult. Turner absconded the following day, when some of the property was found in her bed. May be found in the company of prostitutes and soldiers. Inf. to C. R. O. BUCKINGHAMSHIRE. 4.— Slough ( Co.).— For obtaining £ 10 by false pretences ( worthless cheque), at Eton, 19th ult.— Captain A. Hume Williams, alias Lieut. Kent, b. 1881 to 1886, shin build, sharp features ; dress, dk. mixture suit, collar, tie, bowler hat, white spats. Called on the steward at Eton College, stated he was an old Etonian and induced him to cash a cheque for the above amount, drawn on Courts Bank, Charing Cross Branch. The cheque was written on a plain piece of paper and signed A. Hume Williams, Capt., Coldstream Guards, and was subsequently returned marked No account assigned. Frequents good class hotels. Identical with Hendry, Case No. 89 ( Windsor), 31- 10- 21. Warrant issued. Inf. to Supt. Pearce, Slough. DURHAM. 5.— West Hartlepool ( Co.).— For stealing— person, 28th ult., lady's brown suede handbag, about 15in. x 5in., with flap, silver fastener, initials S. S. thereon, containing silver chain purse, small mesh, about 21in. long, and about 5s.— A Man. b. 1898 to 1901, 5ft. 7 or Sin.. . dress, dk. clothing and cap. Met loser in a quiet neighbour- hood, pushed against her, thereby knocking her down, snatched her handbag and decamped. Inf. to Supt. McDonald, West Hartlepool. 6.— West Hartlepool ( Co.).— For obtaining food and lodgings by false pretences, 27th ult.— A Man, who gave the name of H. L. Whittaker, 1>. about 1874, 5ft. 8 or 9in., proportionate build, c. ruddy, h. dk. ( turning grey, bald on top), e. blue, promin- ent nose, clean shaven, Yorkshire accent ; dress, dk. brown suit, soft collar, tie, black bowler hat, tony red shoes, grey overcoat with velvet collar ( much worn). Obtained lodgings with loser, 24th ult., by stating he had been sent by the manager of a local theatre, where he was engaged as a painter and decorator ( false). Left on above date without paying. Had in his possession R. A. O. B. certificate in the name of H. L. Whittaker. Attends lodge meetings of that Order, and clubs, and is fond of playing the piano, singing and reciting. Warrant issued. Inf. to Supt. McDonald, West Hartlepool. HAMPSHIRE. 7.— Bournemouth ( Co.).— For stealing from the showroom of a milliner's shop, on or about lst ult.— Royal blue satin gown, and navy do. ( recovered) : black satin gown, with bodice of white covered with black lace ; black do., with overskirt of black ninon, white collar : plain navy blue satin gown, wide sash, ends lined grey ; navy blue taffeta silk bodice ; dk. grej' costume, Newmarket coat, lined satin.— A Man who gave the names of Carr, Mitchell and Armstrong, b. about 1886, 5ft. 8 to 10in., stiff build, c. sallow, h. brown, clean shaven, full face, London accent; dress, brown rough tweed jacket, grey flannel trousers, heavy dk. brown overcoat, brown trilby hat, collar and tie. black boots. Carried a green suit- case and a cardboard box containing blouses, stockings, etc., which he may endeavour to sell. Left 10th ult., stating he was going to Basingstoke and King's Lynn. Inf. to Supt. C. thereon ( this brooch opens similar to a grand piano) ; gold merrythought or wishbone brooch ; gold pearl heart shaped brooch, large ; gold pearl heart shaped brooch, one small heart in centre ; gold, pearl and diamond brooch, small, diamond in centre, surrounded by 4 hearts ; gold, pearl and blue enamel double heart brooch ; gold, pearl and turquoise circular brooch, size of a halfpenny, single stones alternately ; gold, pearl and amethyst brooch, with one green stone ; gold French brooch, picture of lady thereon, surrounded by small pearls ; pale blue enamel butterfly brooch ( cheap) ; imitation pearl necklace, graduated pearls ; pendant with bunch of grapes in pearls and two leaves, with thin platinum neckchain attached ; gold heart shaped pendant, diamond in centre ; pendant, lion's claw, mounted in chased gold, initials L.
