CONFIDENTIAL Supplement B THE POLICE GAZETTE No. 22. FRIDAY, JUNE. 3, 1921. Vol. VIII. Convicts on Licence, persons under Police Supervision and others whose apprehensions are sought for failing to comply with the requirements of the Prevention of Crimes Act. Those hearing names marked thus * are Licence Holders, and should produce their licences. 1' he first condition of a licence is that the holder shall preserve it and produce it when called upon by a Magistrate or Police Officer ; but it should be distinctly understood that a Licence Holder is not required to carry his licence upon him. Before preferring a charge of failing to produce a licence, it should be ascertained what the defaulter has to say, vide Sec. 5, Sub- Sec. 1, 27 & 28 Vict., Cap. 47, which requires a Licence Holder to produce his licence or show tome reasonable excuse why he does IU> I produce the same. N. B.— When a circulation is cancelled, the printed matter relating to the person in question might be ruled through in red ink, without defacing the portrait. Licence Holders and Supervisees. Sentenced at High Ct., Edinburgh, 16- 8- 1917, to 5 yrs. pen. for fraud. Liberated on licence, 17- 5- 1921, to Edinburgh. Reported, 18- 5- 1921, and has since dis appeared. Pre. con. of forgery, false pretences and larceny. Known to police at LIVERPOOL, BLACK- BURN, CARLISLE, GLASGOW, EDINBURGH, ST. HELENS, SOUTHPORT, BLACKPOOL, CHAPEL- EN- LE- FRITH and BOLTON. For portrait, etc., see Case No. 44, Supple- ment A ( Vol. IV.). May be dealt with where found if there is evidence of an offence against the Prevention of Crimes Act in such place. Persons Licensed from a Borstal Institution. C. R. O. c_ fresh, h. brown, e. grey, scar under 1. eyebrow. 163.— For failing to comply with the conditions A labourer; native of York. Sentenced at Leeds City Sess., 24- 6- 1919, to 3 yrs. detention in a B. I. for larceny. Liberated on licence, 14- 12- 1920, to the care of the Borstal Association. Work was found him in York but on 19- 4- 1921, he left this and disappeared. Pre. con. of larceny. Known to police at LEEDS. If arrested a telegram or telephonic message should be sent to C. R. O., when arrangements will be made for an escort to fetch him. of his licence, which has been revoked.— Herbert Not to be arrested after 23- 6- 1923, without first Senior, C. R. O No. 2693- 19, b. 1900, 5ft. 4£ in., communicating with C. R. O. POLICE GAZETTE SUPPLEMENT B Friday, JUDO 3, 1921. Apprehensions Sought. 104.— Harry Smith, C. R. O. Ct., 23- 5- 21. to 1 mo. impt. for larceny- till. 100.— David Roberts, C. R. O. No. 218- 14, Case No. 107 ( Vol. VIII.), is in custody at Haddington Pol. Ct., charged with larceny. 107. Joseph Reed, C. R. O. No. 1883- 99, Case No. 152 ( Vol. VIII.), stands committed for trial at the Leicester ( City) Q. Sess., charged with larceny.
