Convicts on Licence, persons under Police Supervision and others whose apprehensions are sought for failing to comply with the requirements of the Prevention of Grimes Acts, and the Prisoners ( Temporary Discharge for 111 Health) Act, 1913. Those bearing names marked thus * are Licence Holders, and should produce their licences. The first condition of a licence is that the holder shall preserve it and produce it when called upon by a Magistrate or Police Officer; but it should be distinctly understood that a Licence Holder is not required to carry his licence upon him. Before preferring a charge of failing to produce a licence, it should be ascertained what the- defaulter has to say, vide Sec. 5, Sub- sec. 1, 27 & 28 Vict., cap. 47, which requires a Licence Holder to produce his licence or show some reasonable excuse why he does not produce the same. N. B.— When a circulation is cancelled, the printed matter relating to the person in question might be ruled through in red ink, without defacing the portrait.
