U communications for insertion in the POLICE GAZETTE, and all communica- tions relating to them, should be addressed to THE EDITOR OF THB POLICE GAZETTE, NEW SCOTLAND YAED, LONDON, S. W. 2. Particulars concerning persons whose apprehension is sought will be inserted in one issue of the POLICE GAZETTE, if they are sufficient to enable action to be taken upon them by another force. Particulars as to stolen property will be likewise inserted in one issue, if sufficient to enable the article in question to be thereby identified. 4. In all cases where a reward is offered, the name and address of some person responsible for the payment must be given, and the exact conditions must be clearly stated. 6. Portraits of Persons whose apprehension is sought for serious off ences will be inserted at a cost of 8s. per portrait, and engravings of stolen property at a cost of 65. per photograph or sketch, unless the article is large or unusually intricate, when the charge will be higher. A remittance of 63. should be made in the first instance for cost of engraving sketches. I. Every announcement, if for the apprehension of a person, must be guaran- teed by the signature of an officer of not less rank than Superintendent; and if the name of such person is required to be inserted and no warrant is in force against him, the requisition must be signed by the chief officer of police, or his immediate deputy, of the county, city, or borough, as the ease may be. 7. Announcements concerning stolen property must be guaranteed by an officer of not less rank than Inspector, or analogous thereto. 8. Announcements of all persons to be apprehended or of stolen property bear a number, and as far as practicable they are alphabetically arranged by counties. 9. The force which causes particulars concerning delinquents or stolen pro- perty to be inserted in the POLICE GAZETTE, must, on their apprehension or recovery, at once transmit to the Editor notice of the fact, referring to the number of the announcement for insertion in the next issue. 10. In all cases the officer signing the request for the insertion of any announce- ment will be wholly responsible for any proceedings which may result from such publication. 11. Announcements for the Friday issue should be forwarded so as to be re- ceived not later than noon on Wednesday, and for the Tuesday edition not later than Saturday morning. They must be clearly written on one side of the paper only; they must be in the usual form, and accompanied by a covering letter., 12. All payments must be in advance, either at the office, New Scotland Yard, by Postal Order, or by Post Office Order, payable at Parliament Street Post Office. 13. The space being limited, announcements concerning " Missing Persona" are only accepted on payment, but insertion in the next or any subsequent issue cannot be guaranteed. The charge for such insertion ( if accepted) will be given on application. 14. All copies of the POLICE GAZETTE re- transmitted by Police Forces should be prepaid at the ordinary rate for printed matter sent by post xcithin the United Kingdom. JACKSON, age about 35, height 5 ft. 6 or 7 ins., complexion very sallow, hair and eyes ( small pupils) dark, very talkative, speaks through one side of mouth only ; dress, dark tweed suit mingled with bright red, knitted blue silk tie, cap, brown boots with broad soles. He obtained employment at a farm, afterwards called upon a jeweller and represented that he was a relative of the farmer, asked the shopkeeper to call at the farm to repair a clock, then selected the above articles stating he would pay for same the following day. RUSSELL, age about 35, height 5 ft. 7 or 8 ins., red cheeks, hair light, bushy at sides; well dressed; wearing a round green soft felt hat. WILSON, age about 33, height 5 ft. 9 or 10 ins., complexion fresh, hair brown, clean shaven; dress, light grey tweed suit, bowler hat, smart appearance, speaks quietly. He purchased a pair of boots and tendered in payment a cheque for £ 3, drawn by C. Invari- plexion fresh, hair brown, eyes blue; dress, blue costume ( red insertion round cuffs and collar), black toque with yellow feather at back ; carries a black satchel; vO^ ll spoken and fashionably dressed. She calls upon high- class jewellers, se- ably carries pocket handkerchief in left hand and it is believed that by this means shie is able to steal the article; also carries a satchel. DURHAM. 88.— Durham ( County)— For obtaining £ 98 17s. 2d. by false pretences at Washington, lst February last.— ROBERT SIMPSON, alias WIL- LARD, TAYLOR, McTIGHE and FRANK CLIFFORD, Office No. S. 116694, age 35 to 40, to enter partnership with him and to pay them a large salary, afterwards draws the money deposited and absconds. May be found in a quiet country district. Is supposed accompanied by a woman ( not wanted), age about 35, stout build, golden height 5 ft. 11 ins. or 6 ft., complexion fresh, hair and eyes brown, of smart appearance, plausible and persuasive manner. A motor engineer; native of New Jersey. He usually makes himself known to persons who have money to invest, represents that he is about to open a large business, invites them hair; dresses stylishly, and her daughter who is a music- hall artiste.
