ICE GAZETTE, and ull communi- cations relating to them, should be. addressed to THE EDITOR OK THE POLICE GAZETTE, NEW SCOTLAND YARD, LONDON, S. W. 2. Particulars concerning persons whose apprehension is sought will be inserted in one issue of the POLICE GAZETTE, if they are sufficient to enable action to be taken upon them by another force. j • 3. Particulars as to stolen property will be likewise inserted in one issue, if sufficient to enable the article in question to be thereby identified. 4. In all cases where a reward is offered, the name and address of some person responsible for the payment must be given, and the exact conditions must be clearly stated. fi. Portraits of persons whose apprehension is sought for serious offences, and engravings of stolen property, will be inserted at a cost of 7s. per portrait, and of 5s. per photograph or sketch of a stolen article, unless the article is large or unusually intricate, when the engraver's charge will range from 5.1 to 10s. A remittance of 5s. should be made in the first instance for cost of engraving sketches. 6. Every announcement, if for the apprehension of a person, must be guaranteed bi1 the signature of an officer of not less rank than Superintendent; and if the name of such person is required to be inserted and no warrant is in force against him, the requisition must be signed by the chicf officer of police, or his immediate deputy, of the county, city, or borough, as the case, may be. 7. Announcements concerning stolen property must be guaranteed by an officer of not less rank than Inspector, or analogous thereto. A. TIOSTS. S. Announcements of all persons to be apprehended or of stolen property bear a number, and as far as practicable they are alphabetically arranged by counties. a. The force which causes particulars concerning delinquents or stolen property to be inserted in the POLICE GAZETTE, must, on their apprehension or recovery, at once transmit to the Editor notice of the fact, referring to the number of the announcement, for insertion in the next issue. 10. In all cases the officer signing the request for the insertion of any announce- ment will be wholly responsible for any proceedings which may result from such publication. 11. Announcements for the Friday issue should be forwarded so as to be received not later than noon on Wednesday, and for the Tuesday edition not later than Saturday morning. They must be clearly written on one side of the paper only: they must be in the usual form, and accompanied by a covering letter. 12. All payments must be in advance, either at the office, New Scotland Yard, by Postal Order, or by Post Office Order, payable at Parliament Street Post Office. 13 The Space being limited, announcements concerning " Missing Persons " are only accepted on payment, but insertion in the next or any subsequent issue cannot be guaranteed. The charge for such insertion ( if accepted) will be given on application. 14. All copies of the POLICE GAZETTE re- transmitted by Police Forces should be prepaid at the ordinary rate for printed matter sent by post within the United Kingdom THE EDITOR, New Sootland Yard, London, S. A motor engineer; native of Birmingham. He obtained the above amount on the pretence of purchasing a motor business. Warrant issued. 5. — E Division* — Referring to Case No. 4, 17th May, 1907 — CHARLES EDWARD BLOOMER ( wanted for obtaining £ 835 12s. 6d., by forged deeds), amended description, clean shaved, wears heavy dark blue glasses. He resided at Tivetshall, Norfolk, from June, 1906, to September, 1907, in name of A. Newman, afterwards at Hill House Farm, Rattlesden, Suffolk, until 16th ult. Is said to be engaged in poultry farming. Special attention of Provincial Forces is called to this man, who will probably take a small poultry farm, or obtain lodgings at a quiet inn. May be accompanied by his daughter, age 20, height 5 ft. 5 in., complexion fair, hair light. Warrant issued. Information to be forwarded to the Metropolitan Police Office, New Scotland Yard, S. W. CITY OF LONDON. 6.— For stealing a cheque for £ 12 2s 6d.— JOHN EIDENOW, late of Gore Road, Hackney, age 17, height 5 ft., slight build, complexion and hair dark, prominent nose and chin, Jewish appear- ance. ROBERTSON, age 60, height 5 ft. 3 in., very stout, complexion pale, slightly pock- marked, hair ( turning grey) dark; dress, green and dark check Highland cloak, very long, heavy dark jacket, trimmed dark braid, black skirt, brown fur necklet, 2 tails at each end, black sailor hat, trimmed dark blue ribbon and large blue ostrich feather, thick black veil, carried an umbrella and small black leather hand- bag. Represents that she is on a holiday from South Africa, ascertains the names and addresses of persons having relatives there, introduces her- self as being intimately acquainted with the rela- tives, having thus gained confidence, states she is short of cash, and alleges that she wishes to visit her mother at a distant place, and obtains money for the purpose of paying the fare. May assume the name of Jones, and seek employment with Insurance Com- panies. Accompanied by his Wife, age about 36, very tall, slight build, complexion sallow, hair and eyes dark, advanced in pregnancy; and Daughter, age about 10, hair ( long) light; usually wears grey clothing. Warrant withdrawn. 21.— Bristol ( City).— For embezzlement— FREDERICK JONES,' age 24, height 5 ft. 5 in., complexion fair, full round face, hair light, clean shaved; dress, blue serge suit and cap, of smart appearance, fond of boxing and wrestling. A fishmonger's assistant; native of Shepherd's Bush, London. He came to Bristol in June last, and employment was obtained for him by the Charity Organisation Society. Absconded 24th ult. HAMPSHIRE. 22.— Aldershot ( County).— For stealing dur- ing October last, a bicycle ( recovered)— FREDER- ICK CLARKE, age 20, height 5 ft. 3 in., com- plexion fresh, hair brown, eyes hazel, linear scar below right eye, scar base right thumb and top right second finger, tattooed both forearms; dress, plain clothes. A deserter from 58th Co. Army Service Corps. Warrant issued. Information to Supt. KENT. 27.— Gravesend ( Borough).— For obtaining, 28th ult., by false pretences, a green painted gig. lined out light green, newly plated lamps, raised back rest with green cloth front and patent leather back, nave of olf side wheel has false iron on back, mail axle, no leather on robins connecting cross spring to hind spring, holes cut in leather of dash board to take whip socket straps, " Gold Bros., Windsor," on wheel caps, new rubber Clincher tyres— ANDREW PARMENTER, age about 45. height 5 ft. 4 or 5 in., moustache dark brown, red- dish nose; wealing dark overcoat, bowler hat— A MAN, age about 30, height 5 ft. 8 or 9 in., mous- tache light, sore on lip; dress, blue suit, bowler hat, light colour overcoat. ALERON, alias ALLEN, age about 40, height 5 ft. 5 in., stout build, complexion fresh, full face, hair brown, clean shaved, eyes blue; dress, brown mixture suit, green fancy vest, brown over- coat, velvet collar, green soft felt or black bowler hat wearing a diamond ring on one little finger, and a small gold curb watch chain. Appearance of a horse dealer or race- course follower. Accom- panied by a woman, age about 36, short, stout build, hair dark brown, mole on cheek; may be wearing a mole skin coat and muff, green or green and blue hat, horseshoe brooch, set diamonds, gold brooch composed of 2 keys, gold curb chain brace- let, padlock attached. LANCASHIRE. 80.— Preston ( County).— For stealing £ 9— HAROLD YATES, age 17, height 5 ft. 7 in., complexion pale, hair brown, eyes grey, slight im- pediment in speech, stoops slightly; dress, blue suit, dark tie, lace boots. Supposed a native of Leicester. Warrant issued. Information to the Chief Constable, Preston. 31 .— Liverpool ( City).— For uttering counter- feat 50- lire Banca d'ltalia notes, 28th ult.— A MAN, age 45 to 50, height 5 ft. 9 in., stout build, complexion sallow, full face, moustache ( clipped short) dark grey, can speak English; wear- ing brown overcoat, black bowler hat. An Italian. He called upon several money changers and re- ceived American money in exchange for the counterfeit notes, and is known to have a number of others in his possession. Information to the Head Contable, Liverpool. 32.— Manchester ( City).— For failing to report— Supervisee JOHN KELLY, Office No. 2149- 07, age 41, height 5 ft. 6f in., complexion fresh, hair black, eyes brown, scar bridge of nose. A native of Limerick. Sentenced at Birmingham Sessions, 29th April, 1907, to 9 months hard labour and 2 years supervision for shopbreaking. Liberated from a subsequent term of 12 months hard labour for housebreaking, Hth ult. 1089. May be dealt with where found. Information to the Chief Constable, Manchester. 3a.— St. Helens ( I'orough).— For stealing a pair of boots, and £ 5 2s., from his lodgings, 21st ult.— ERNEST ORMSON, age about 21, height 5 ft. 6 or 7 in., complexion fair, thin face, swarthy skin, clean shaved, eyes blue, abscess mark right side of neck, cross, heart and dagger one wrist, upper teeth missing.
