All communications for insertion in the POLICB GAZETTE, and all communi- cationt relating to them, should be addressed to THB EDITOE OF THE POLICB GAZETTE, NEW SCOTLAND YAED, LONDON, S. W. 9 Particulars concerning persons whose apprehension is sought will be inserted in one issue of the POLICE GAZETTE, if they are sufficient to enable action to be taken upon them by another force. B. Particulars as to stolen property will be likewise inserted in one issue, if sufficient to enable the article in question to be thereby identified. i. In all cases where a reward is offered, the name and address of some person responsible for the payment must be given, and the exact conditions must be clearly stated. Portraits of persons whose apprehension is sought for serious offences, and engravings of stolen property, will be inserted at a cost of 7s. per portrait, and of 5s. per photograph or sketch of a stolen article, unless the article is iarge or unusually intricate, when the engraver's charge will range from bt. to 10s. A remittance of 5s. should be made in the first instance for cost of engraving sketches. « . Every announcement, if for the apprehension of a person, must be guaranteed by the signature of an officer of not less rank than Superintendent; and if the name of such person is required to be inserted and no warrant is in force against him, the requisition must be signed by the chief officer of police, or his immediate deputy, of the county, city, or borough, as the case may be. J^. " JC X OK s. 7. Announcements concerning stolen property mutt be guaranteed by an offrter of not less rank than Inspector, or analogous thereto. 8. Announcements of all pertons to be apprehended or of stolen property bear a number, and as far as practicable they are alphabetically arranged by counties. 9. The force which causes particulars concerning delinquents or stolen property to be inserted in the POLICE GAZETTE, must, on their apprehension or recovery, at once transmit to the Editor notice of the fact, referring to the number of the announcement, for insertion in the next issue. 10. In all cases the officer signing the request for the insertion of any announce- merit will be wholly responsible for any proceedings which may result from such publication. 11. Announcements for the Friday issue should be forwarded so at to be received not later than noon on Wednesday, and for the Tuesday edition not later than Saturday morning. They must be clearly written on one side of the paper only; they must be in the usual form, and accompanied by a covering letter. 12. All payments must be in advance, either at the office, New Scotland Yard, by Postal Order, or by Post Office Order, payable at Parliament Street Poti Office. 13. Marden, Brentwood. 16.— Southend ( County).— For larceny and assault on police, 14th Dec.— WILLIAM TAY- LOR, alias JAMES HUBBARD, age 68, height 5 ft. 7 in., complexion fresh, hair light brown ( turning grey), eyes ( nearly blind left) blue, carries head to one side when speaking or walking; dress, light tweed coat, old cord trousers, black necker- chief, grey cap. A French polisher; native of Hastings. He obtains a livelihood by playing a cornet in the streets, accompanied by his two Sons, ages 13 and 10 res- pectively. May visit Salvation Army Barracks. LANARKSHIRE. 26 — Govan ( Burgh).— For embezzling £ 37 17s. 9d.— JOHN LAWSON, age 35, height 5 ft. 8 or 9 in., complexion and hair dark, clean shaved ; dress, dark tweed jacket suit, dark overcoat, black felt hat, generally carries gloves in one hand, speaks with slight east country accent. NORFOLK. 29.— Great Yarmouth ( Borough).— For obtaining, by false pretences, a pair of military hair brushes, plain silver backs, concave; 1 pair do., chased silver backs, with silver mounted comb in light leather case; 1 silver flask; 1 crocodile leather do., with silver cup and top HUTTON, age about 25, height about 5 ft. 8 in., complexion pale, hair and moustache light. East- man, 16th ult.— A MAN, who gave the name of WILLIAM EDMUNDS, age 30 to 35, height 5 ft. 5 or 6 in., complexion iiallow, hair and moustache dark, abscess scar left cheek, peculiar laugh, talka- tive; dress, dark suit, overcoat and bowler hat. A billiard marker, late of Swansea. Similar cheques ( stolen about a month ago at Birmingham) have been uttered at Birmingham, Weston- Super- Mare, Pontypool, < fec. Warrant issued. He was employed as a ticket inspector on the Bradford City Tramways • from 1st July, 1904, to 10th October, 1905, and obtained a crate of ware by representing that he-" was still so engaged.
