All announcements for insertion in the POLICE GAZETTE, and all communi'- ations relating to them. should he addressed to THE EDITOR OF THE POLICE GAZETTE, NEW SCOTLAND YARD, LONDON, S. W. 2. Particulars concerning persons whose apprehension is sought loill he inserted ip. on/• issue of the POLICE GAZETTE, if they are sufficient to enable action to be taken upon them, by another force. 3. Particulars as to stolen property will be likewise inserted in one issue, if sufficient to enable the article in question to be thereby identified. 4. In all rases where a reward in offered, the mime and address of some person responsible for the payment must be given, and the exact conditions must be clearly stated, o. Portraits of persons whose apprehension is sought for serious offences, and. engravings of stolen - property will be inserted at a cost of 15s. per portrait, and of Is. 6d. per photo- graph or sketch of a stolen article. 6. Every announcement, if for the apprehension of a person, must be guaranteed by the signature of an officer of not lens rank than Superintendent; and. if the name of such person is required to he inserted and no warrant is in force against, him, the requisition must be signed by the chief officer of police, or his immediate deputy, of the county, city, or borough, as the ease may be. 7. Announcements concerning stolen property must be guaranteed by an officer of not less rank than Inspector, or analogous thereto. 8. Anmrnu- emerits of all persons to be apprehended or of stolen property bear a number, anil, as far as practicable, they are alphabetically arranged by counties. 9. The force which causes particulars concerning delinquents or stolen property to be inerrted in. the POLICE GAZETTE, must, on their apprehension or recovery, at once transmit to the Editor notice of the fact, referring to the number of the announcement, for insertion in the next issue. 10. In all cases the officer signing the request for the insertion of any announcement will be wholly responsible for any proceedings wh ich may result from such publication, 11. Announcements for the Friday issiir should be forwarded so as to be received not Inter tfum ' noon on Wednesday, and for the Tuesday edition not later thon Saturday morning. They must be clearly written on one side of the paper only ; they must be in the usual jbrm, ttaul accompanied by a covering letter. 12. All payments must Ite in advance, cither at the office, New Scotland Yard, by Postal Order, or by Post Office Order, payable at Parliament Street Post Office. 13. Announcements concerning property lost or persons missing can only be accepted m payment, and the charges for the insertion of the same will be given on application. R. ANDERSON, Editor. SPECIAL NOTICE. The amount of stolen property at present " circu- lated " by tlie Metropolitan Police has become so inordinately large as to prejudice or destroy the practical value of the records, and it has been found necessary to limit it very considerably. It has been decided, therefore, to discontinue the " cir- culation " in lnformationsaudPawnbrokers'Listsof all property stolen in the provinces, unless where there are grounds for believing that the property- has found its way to the Metropolis. Chief Con- stables are requested accordingly, when forwarding lists of stolen property to Scotland Yard, to send with them a letter to that effect. And if bills or circulars are received in future, unaccompanied by such a letter, it will be assumed that the " circula- tion " of the particulars they contain is not desired. A fitting), mudguards to both wheels— A MAN, giving the name of HARRIS, age 33, height 5 ft 10} in., complexion swarthy, prominent cheek bones, cheeks sunken, hair brown, impediment in speech, throws his head back and drops his jaw when speaking, American accent; dress, dark mixture jacket and vest, drab riding breeches, dark brown leather leggings, brown cap. brown boots ( blacked over). Jackson, Chester," on works — ABRAHAM COHEN, an Austrian Jew, age about 40. height 4 ft. 9 in., small features, high forehead, hair, beard, and moustache very dark, beard cut short and pointed, wears glasses; dress, heavy reefer serge suit, fawn colour paddock coat, or Inver- ness waterproof, black felt hat, carried a small patent leather hand bag, speaks broken English. Warrant issued. 17.— Southampton ( Borough).— For an indecent assault— ARTHUR FORTESQUE, age 25, height 5 ft. 5 to 7 in., slight build, complexion florid, small round face, small pointed nose, hair and moustache dark, eyes ( rather weak) blue, spaces between front teeth ; dress, dark clothes and bowler hat. A cycle repairer. May be riding a bicycle. Warrant issued. LANCASHIRE. 21.— Liverpool ( City)— For uttering a forged receipt for £ 1 16s. 5d., 27th June last— GEORGE WASHINGTON HAVERY, age about 24, height 5 ft. 10 or 11 in., hair light, clean shaved, promi- nent nose, stammers slightly; dress when last seen, grey jacket suit, brown hat. He hired a bicycle and immediately afterwards pawned it, producing to the pawnbroker a receipt on a printed billhead purporting to come from a firm of cycle manu- facturers in Liverpool. Ormiston, County Poljce Office, Leicester. 25.— Leicester ( Bon, ugh).— For stealing a roll of cloth ( recovered)— DANIEL DONEGAN, alias WILLIAMS, and DE VERE, age 40, height 5 ft. 5£ in., complexion florid, hair and moustache light brown, eyes blue, cut scar over right eye, walks erect; dress, black coat and vest, brown trousers, black billy- cock hat. A tailor, may call on secretaries of the Trade Unions 26.— Leicester ( Borough).— For failing to report — Licence - holder FREDERICK WILLIAMS, alias KERR TIMMONS, SIM- MONS. McCANN, FLANNIGAN, and ED- WARDS, Office No. 2901- 99, age 49, height 5 ft. 7J in., complexion fresh, hair brown, eyes dark grey, bald front of head, prominent cheek bones ; indistinct marks and J right forearm, lost tip of 3rd finger. Stated he was an upholsterer and had been engaged as manager to a local tradesman. Warrant issued. Information to Supt.
