Description of Deserters. Discharged for Misconduct. Whenever men suspected of desertion or straggling from the Royal Navy or Royal Marines are brought before Magistrates in the Metropolitan District, it is desirable that the Naval Descriptive Return in use in that District should be used only in the cases of seamen and others of the Royal Navy, and of Marines, who have deserted from Her Majesty's Ships. In the ease of Marines not embarked who have deserted from the head quarters of their Divisions, the Army Descriptive Return, as specified in the 4th Schedule of the Army Act, 1881, should lie used. • In districts outside the Metropolitan Districts to which Naval Descriptive Returns are not supplied, the Arriy Form should be used in all cases.
