POLICE GAZETTE PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY. NEW SERIES. TUESDAY, APEIL 6, 1897. VOL. XIV. No. 1385. REGIJ L^ TIOHNTS. 1. All announcements for insertion in the POLICE GAZETTE, and all communications upon them, should be addressed to THE EDITOR OF THE POLICE GAZETTE, NEW SCOTLAND YARD, LONDON, S. W. 2. Particulars concerning persons whose is sought ttt" be ' nserted in one issue of the POLICE GAZETTE, if they are sufficient to enable action to be taken upon them by another force. 3. Particu ars as to stolen property will be likewise inserted inone issue, if sufficient to enable the article in question to be thereby identified. 4. In all cases where a reward is offered the name an I address of some person responsible for the payment must be given, and the exact conditions be clearly stated. 5. Portraits of persons whose ap/ rrehension is - oitg'it Jor serious offences, and engravings of stolen jrroperty, will be jxrominently inserted, with detaileil particulars, at a cost of 15*. per portrait, and of Is. 6d. per photograph or sketch of a stolen article, including the expense of engraving on wood. 6. Every announcement, if for the apprehension of a person, must be guaranteed by the signature of an officerofno' less r an t than Superintendent; and, if the name of such person be required to be inserted, and no warrant is in orce against him, the requisition must be signed by the t hief officer of police, or his immediate denuty, of the county, city, or borough, as the case may be. 7. Announcements concerning stolen property mu t be guaranteed by an officer of not lessrank than Inspector, or analogous thereto. 8. Announcements nf al' person* to be apprehended or of stolen property bear u number, and are cdphab° tically arranged by count'es. 9. In all cases, the officer signing the riq'iest for insertion of any announcement, will be wholly responsible for any p o- eedingn ichich may result from such publication. 11. Announcements for the Friday issue should be forwarded so as to be received not later than noon on Wednesday, and for the Tuesday edition not later than Satunlay momiwi. They must be clearly written on one side of the paper only, be in the usual form, and accompanied by a cooering letter. 12. All payments must be in advance, eith'r at the office, New Scotland Yard, by cheque, crossed " Drummontl & Co ," Post Office Order payable at Parliament st., Postal Order, a » '? i Stamps. 13. Advertisements are accepted tor tne POLICE GAZETTE through Mr. James Willing, 125, Strand, London, the sole Agent, who will- furnish the rates on application. 14. T H E POLICE GAZETTE. 3 KINCARDINESHIRE CONSTABULARY. lyriSSING, from his home in Banchory- Ternan, in this County, since the 5th March current— PETER HUNTER, Farmer and Cattle- dealer, aged 53 years, 5 ft. 7 or 8 in. in height, reddish hair, whiskers, and moustache, short neck, medium build; dressed, when last seen, in grey tweed trousers, dark serge jacket, and grey tweed single- peaked cap. Supposed had with him short, light, tweed overcoat, and walking stick. Hunter attended Cattle Markets and Sales, and was last seen in Market Street of Aberdeen, on the evening of Friday, the 5th March current. It is feared some ill has befallen him, and a handsome Reward will be given by his friends for such information as will lead to his present where- abouts, or, if dead, for the recovery of his body. Police Officers are respectfully requested to make careful search and enquiry for Mr. Hunter at shipping offices, etc., etc., in case he may have left this country.
