Information to Chief Constable Peacock, Oldham LINCOLNSHIRE. May be found singing with the " Christiana" minstrels in the name of Montague. Has used the name of Hemmin?, HendersoD, Beaumont, Roberts, & c. Warrant issued. Information to Inspector Sorrell, Woodstock. cap with peak, low shoes; smart appearance Stated he is a native of Norwich. Warrant issued. Information to Lieut.- Col. Russell, Chief Con- stable, Ipswich. SURREY. 42.— Reigate ( Borough).— For non- payment of arrears for bastardy— ED WARD ARTHUR GRAY, age 29, height 5 ft. 8£ in., complexion fresh, round face, hair very dark brown, may have whiskers and moustache, eyes dark brown, a front tooth in upper jaw missing. Is left - handed. A gardener and botanist. Warrant issued. 43.— Reigate ( Borough). — For larceny— W. EDWARDS ( supposed false), age about 33, height 5 ft. 9^ in., slight build, rather round shoulders, complexion sallow, hair ( thin) light brown, clean shaved ( but may now have moustache and beard 1, thin purple lips, small discoloured teeth, broad high forehead, sunken cheeks, lower part of face narrow ; speaks in a guarded manner, and lowers his eye- brows when looking at one ; dissipated appearance ; may be dressed in black frock coat and vest, dark striped fancy woollen trousers, high- crowned brown felt, or cloth tweed hat; has several new suits in his possession. He left Reigate, 1st inst., after passing 5 false cheques on Williams Deacon, Manchester and Salford Bank, Lim., Rusholme Branch, obtaining several pounds in change. May endeavour to leave the country. He was accompanied by his wife, age about 30, height 5 ft. 7 in., slight build, complexion dark, hair dark brown, high cheekbones, rather round shoulders, stoops, feigns deafness ; dress, navy- blue whipcord serge dress; and a boy, age 5^, complexion and tair fair; dress, sailor's suit. On 7th inst. he passed a worthless cheque at Nantwicb, Cheshire, obtaining £ 17 change. He has still several blank cheques in his possession, which he may endeavour to pass. Warrant issued. SUSSEX ( EAST). 44. — Lewes ( County).— For stealing, 2nd inst. — A small black hand- bag, containing 1 evening suit, 2 hair brushes, 4 or 5 collars, marked " C. B. Petre," 1 sleeping suit, 2 razors, 1 pair evening shoes, lined red, and other articles — THOMAS WELLER, age 35, height 5 ft. 5 or 6 in., complexion fresh, hair brown, slight side whiskers and mous- tache ginger, rather full face; dress, black jacket, light trousers, light brown peak cap, light wrap round neck. A painter; late of Welcombe Stranger, Lewes. Warrant issued. Information to Supt. Relf, Lewes. WORCESTERSHIRE. 45.— Stourport ( County).— For stealing, 10th inst.— 1 pair trap wheels, an axletree, and a horse collar — JOHN BAILEY, age 40 to 45, height 5 ft. 3 or 4 in, stout build, complexion fresh, hair inclined to sandy. Travels the country with a cart, buying old iron and bottles. Lately resided at Hartlebury Common. Warrant issued. Information to Supt. Long, Stourport. 46.— Dudley ( Borough).— For obtaining money by false pretences— W. BALL, alias W. TUCKER, age about 26, height 5 ft. 4 or 5 in., complexion fair, hair and slight moustache dark ; dress, black coat, light trousers, white collar, black tie, black hard bat. Respectable appearance. Stated he was an agent for W. & J. Wilder, firework makers, < fcc., Birmingham. Warrant issued. Information to Chief Supt.' Speke, Dudley. YORKSHIRE! ( WEST RIDING). 47.— Doncaster ( Borough).— For stealing, 13th inst.— A Raleigh bicycle, cushion tyres, diamond frame, ball bearings, spring socket head, No. 6564 — A MAN, age about 45, height about 5 ft. 6 in., hair ginger, bushy side- whiskers; dress, brown suit, brown cloth cap. 48. — Doncaster ( Borough). — For obtaining food, lodgings, and money by false pretences— A man who gave the name of ROBINSON", age about 60, height 5 ft. 9 in., hair ( nearly bald) grey, clean shaved, face pockmarked, right eye inflamed, 28.— Sleaford ( County).— For stealing an over- coat ( recovered)— WILLIAM ALLEN, age 36 to 40, height 5 ft 9 or 10 in., hair ( curly) light, heavy sandy moustache, full face, stout build; dress, light suit and cap. Stated he was a native of Leicester. Warrant issued. Information to Supt. Richdale, Sleaford. MONMOUTHSHIRE. 29.— Newport ( Borough). — For forging and uttering a cheque for £ 3, on 30th ult. — W. J. ALEXANDER, age 30 to 35, height 5 ft. 9 or 10 in., short black hair, may have a moustache ; smart ap- pearance and very active. Stated his wife and two children lived in Aigburth - road, Liverpool, and that his mother is living at Southampton. May seek employment as steward on board ship. Information to Head Constable Sinclair, New- port. NORFOLK. 30.— Pu I ham Market ( County).— For breaking into a house and stealing a pair of boots, and for larceny, 5th inst — JOHN WARREN, age 38, height 5 ft. 7 or 8 in., complexion fresh, hair dark brown, moustache dark, scar on forehead; dress, light beaverteen trousers ( tight fitting), jacket and vest with pearl buttons, peak cap. A native of Tibben- ham, Norfolk. Stated his wife and 3 children were living in London. Warrant issued. Information to Supt. Tuddenham, Pulham Market. NORTHAMPTONSHIRE. 31.— Ketteri ng ( County).— For obtaining money by false pretences— GRANVILLE COLE, age 40, hjight 5 ft. 8 in., complexion fair, hair turning grey, heavy dark moustache, eyes dark; shows his teeth very much when talking; dress, light check suit, hard felt hat, coloured shirt front; wears an eye- glass; of gentlemanly appearance. Is constantly smoking cigarettes, and, in name of Dr. Cole, buys cocaine and morphia, which he injects into his arms and legs. Stated he was a mining chemist. Is fond of talking about chemistry. He stays at first- class hotels, tenders a worthless cheque in excess of account, and decamps with balance. Warrant issued. Information to Supt. Hensher, Kettering. NORTHUMBERLAND. 32— Wooler ( County).— For stealing, 28th ult., at Belford — 2 glaziers' diamonds, 1 with dark handle ( recovered), 1 with white handle— PETER EARLEY, alias SIMPSON, age 35 to 40, height 5 ft. 7 or 8 in., complexion fresh, hair brown, mou- stache ginger, eyes blue, cut mark on side of nose, walks lame, having had broken leg ; dress, brown or grey jacket, blue trousers, grey cap. A tramping painter; native of Edinburgh. Information to Supt. Kennedy, Wooler. OXFORDSHIRE. 33.— Oxford ( County).— For horse- stealing at Cowley— WILLIAM WILSON DONALD, age 30, height 5 ft. 10 in., complexion, hair and heavy moustache black ; dress, dark coat and vest, grey cloth trousers, slate- colour cap. He frequents good hotels, and talks a great deal about dogs. May visit Edmonton. Is the same man described, with portrait, in Case No. 27, 11th Aug. last, and is concerned with Chas. F. Woods, Case No. 45, 6th inst. Warrant issued. Information to the Chief Constable, County Police Office, Oxford. 34.— Woodstock ( County).— For deserting his wife— JAMES RICE, age 37, height 6 ft., com- plexion fresh, hair and moustache light, eyes grey, cross flags tattooed supposed right forearm, scar right cheek. A tenor singer; native of Oxford; has been in the Army. SHROPSHIRE. 35.— Pontesbury ( County). — For stealing a horse ( recovered), 5th inst.— THOMAS CLEETON, age 29, height 5 ft. 6 or 7 in., stout build, hair light brown, small side whiskers, light moustache, eyes grey, stoops a little, turns his feet in slightly when walking. A labourer; native of Rodington, Salop. Has been employed in Liverpool for several months. Is likely to emigrate. Warrant issued. Information te Supt. Straffen, Pontesbnry. 36. — Wellington ( County). — For larceny — HENRY CORBETT, age 50 ( looks much older), height 5 ft. 8| in., complexion sallow, hair and eyes grey, heavy moustache, nearly white, crown and H. C. tattooed right forearm ; dress, light brown dustcoat, dirty brown cloth trousers, black felt hat, lace boots with very broad soles, much too large for him. A labourer; native of Wellington ; has served in the Army. May be found in a union or common lodging house. Warrant issued. Information to Chief Supt. Edwards, Wellington. £ 1 10s. REWARD. 37.— Oswestry ( Borough).— For leaving their wives and children chargeable to Morda Union— HENRY FOSTER, age 31, height 5 ft. 7 or 8 in., complexion fresh, hair and moustache brown, may now be clean shaved. A fitter; native of Shrews- bury. Is of drunken habits, and frequents low public houses. — RICHARD JONES, alias CORPORAL, age 60, height 5 ft. 10 in., complexion fresh, hair ( curly) dark, turning grey, small side whiskers, or may be clean Eliaved. A carpenter, sometimes travds the country filing saws ; supposed na'ive of Llauarmon, Denbighshire. Warrants issued. The above reward will be paid by tbe Chairman of the Board, Oswestry Incorporation, for such information as will lead to the arrest of either of above men. Information to Supt. Langford, Oswestry. SOMERSETSHIRE. 38.— Bath ( City).— For forgery and fraud, 30th ult.— ROBERT HARRISON PROCTOR, age 22, height about 5 ft. 9 in., complexion fair, hair light, clean shaved ; dress, light tweed suit, brown bowler hat. A native of Gloucester. Likely to be found staying at temperance hotels. Has committed similar offences at hotels at Evesham, Bath, and Salisbury. Warrant issued- Information to Lt.- Col. Gwyn, Chief Constable, Bath. STAFFORDSHIRE. 39.— Stafford ( County).— For stealing 2 pairs blucher boots, 20th ult. — JOHN MANN, alias CHUMMY MANN, age 40, height 5 ft. 2^ in., very broad shoulders, complexion fresh, hair light, eyes grey ; dress, old light stripe trousers, white necker- chief, hard black felt hat. A native of Stafford. Warrant issued. Information to Deputy Chief Constable Longden, Stafford. 40.— Wednesbury ( County).—" For larceny ( lodger)— JOEL BLADON, age 24, height 6 ft., slender build, complexion fresh, hair brown, clean shaved, eyes grey, cuts corner of left eye, left cheek- bone, and back of 2nd finger, mole left hip ; dress, old dark plaid coat, and dark trousers smeared with paint, white front with high collar, hard black hat, lace boots. A painter; native of Brierley Hill, Staffordshire. Warrant issued. Information to Supt. Salt, Wednesbury. Both respectably dressed, and are supposed to have left by train for London same evening. The above reward will be paid by Mrs. Wareham, Clifton Villa, Cambridge, for the apprehension and conviction of the thief or thieves and the recovery of the property. HERTFORDSHIRE. 54.— Watford ( County).— Between 25th and 30th August last— 1 gold necklace, close chain pattern, about ^- in. wide, with hook for pendant, about 6 or 7 bars; 1 gold oval shape locket, en- graved with place for monogram ; 1 oval shape, embossed gold brooch with earrings ; 1 gold brooch and earrings with onyx, hair at back, inscription ' Little Archie, died Dec., 1883"; 1 pair iron earrings, nlaid gold, Spanish woik ; 1 gold ring set 1 pearl; 2 oval shape, gold studs, with plain horseshoe; 2 plain round gold studs ; 1 oval stud, white stone set in gold ; 1 gentleman's broad gold scarf ring, white star and pearl in centre ; 1 round silver filagree brooch, Indian make ; 1 gold bangle, inscription in- side, " Maudie, April, 1891"; 2 small ivory elephants with gold band and ring; 1 pendant composed of circles of moonstones in go^ d claw settings ; 1 oval shape gold brooch, set blue enamel and pearl, inscrip- tion atback ; I oval shape silver locket ( and chain) with photos of two children inside. KENT. 55.— Canterbury ( City).— 13th inst., by houie- breaking— About £ 30 gold ; 1 lady's gold geneva watch, No. 3135, plain gold face, gold hands, maker Lannier, Geneva"; 1 lady's long gold chain, twisted pattern ; 1 lady's 15- ct. gold dress ring, set garnets, emeralds, 2 small pearls in centre; 1 lady's gold dress ring, set red and white stones, one stone deficient; 2 silver bracelets, snake pattern ; 1 silver brooch, star pattern, set white stones; 1 gold brooch, raised centre, chased, with pair of earrings to match ; 1 gentleman's long silver chain, with silver split ring at end; 1 lady's silver albert, with tassel; and 4 gold shirt studs, " forget- me nots" in centre ( head broken off collar stud). Information to Chief Constable Farmery, Canter- bury. 56.— Dover ( Borough).— 30th nit., by sacrilege— 1 silver cetorium, about 8 in. hi * h; 1 monstrance, about 12 in. high; 1 silver pyx, gilt inside, oval shape, about the size of a geneva watch. Sanders, Dover. 57.— Tunbridge Wells ( Borough).— Supposed about 18th August— 1 lady's silver watch, No. 53712, chased back, gold hands; 1 gold ring, set with 4 or 5 blue stones, has been made smaller and joint shows; 1 silver necklet and locket; 1 thick silver albert; 1 silver brooch, with glass for hair; 2 ( thin) wedding- rings; 1 gold ring, set with brilliants; 1 silver- gilt buckle ring; 1 broad- chased silver bracelet, initials " J. W." or " W. J." thereon; 1 beaded bracelet, set in filagree silver; 1 striDg of cornelian beads; 1 blue enamelled brooch. Information to Chief Constable Prior, Tunbridge Wells. W. thereon; 2 half- crowns, George III., king's head one side, rose, thistle, and shamrock the other; 2 pairs sheets; 2 tablecloths, J. W. in corners; 2 Thibet petticoats, brown- and- yellow stripe ( l not made up). 7th inst.— 1 silver watch, No. 30964, silver dial, gold chapters, steel hands, engraved cases; 1 English silver lever watch, No. 143200, maker— Forrest, London, on dial and works, steel hands, engraved cases, gold garter on back. LANCASHIRE. 59.— Garstang ( County).— 11th inst., at Bleas- dale— 1 box mohair laces ; | gross leather laces; 1 lace piece, 3 ft. by 2, for cutting laces from; 1 pair tooth drawers; 1 new pair ladies' boots, size 3, " Kyrle " stamped inside, polished leather golosh ; 1 glazier's diamond; 1 half load potato hamper, " B R. Bourke, Garstang. 60.— Old Trafford ( County).— 29th ult.— 50 almanacs ( 1891), 10 in. long, 5 in. wide, represent- ation of a female carrying a basket of bobbins, and a small mirror, 2 in. wide, thereon. 12th inst.— 25 almanacs, similiar to above. 11th inst.— 1 light saddle, blue lining; 1 set brass- mounted harness and bridle; 1 twisted snaffle bit; 1 pair leather reins ( partly worn). Robertson, 209, Blackfriars- road, all in name of Clifton) ; pledged with W. Clark, 55, Long- acre, 9/ 10/ 93, a black dress coat; also a small Americm time- piece, in a small brass sqaare frame; also a blanket and red- and- white quilt; also sheet, marked " A. J. Cox" in black ink ( all pledged in name of Cox) ; with Hawes & Son, 14, Cranbourne- street, Leicester- square, a gentleman's gold 18- ct. snake- ring, pledged 27/ 2/ 93, in name of Goatrey; 26/ 7/ 93, a black silk handkerchief, with yellow stripe, in came of Clifton; on 3/ 10/ 93, a small wooden box, containing a white metal chate- laine, in name of Poole, with Ravington, 27, Wardour- street; 27/ 2/ 93, a black diagonal coat and vest, and a pair of patent boots, in name of Gantray, with Thompson, 95, King - street, Hammersmith; 27/ 2/ 93, a silver geneva watch, No. 27991, metal dome, in a wooden box stamped " Thompson, pawnbroker " ; on same date, 1 malacca walking- stick, buckhorn handle, metal mounts, in name of Gantray, with Lawley, 222, Blackfriavs- road; 25/ 7/ 93, a blue serge jacket, on 26th a pair of men's lace boots, and on 28th a blue serge vest, all in name of Clifton, with Pullen, 132, Manor- place, Walworth; 11/ 10/ 93, a black vest, in name of Clifton. All supposed proceeds of larcenies from furnished apartments. The latter end of 1892 this man had offices at 6, Bond- court, City, trading as the Anglo- Continental Supply Association, wholesale hardware merchants and exporters, and it is supposed that he obtained a quantity of bicycles, & c , by fraud from Coventry firms.
