TIOWI QT All Notice* intended for insertion in the Hue- and- Cry are to be transmitted under cover, addressed to the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary Dublin Castle, authenticated by a Separate Communication. No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn; but it ia not luzaxamrf to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. Notices respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. All Descriptions of persons whose apprehension is sought on a charge of Misdemeanour should be accompanied by a statement that a Warrant has been issued, and by the name of the person in whose hands it is. But the Constabulary should remember that they cannot arrest a person charged with an offence of UIH aature unless they have the Warrant in their possession when making the arrest. Should irregularities arise in the delivery of the Hne- and- Cry, it will be necessary to forward one of the oovers, or give the number it bean, M without Utn ^ formation the mistake cannot be rectified. Prison and Police Authorities are particularly requested to be good enough to inform the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Can tie, of the abolition of Gaols, Stations, dtc., and of any circumstances rendering the supply of the " Hue- and- Cry " no longer necessary. Apprehensions. APPREHENSIONS SOUGHT. ROYAL IRISH CONSTABULARY. Antrim. Description of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 1st September, 1893, absconded from the Malone Reformatory School, at Belfast:— JOHN M'KINNON, No. 25, 17 years of age, dark brown hair, brown eyes, thin eyebrows, regular nose, regular mouth, fresh complexion, round visage, stout make, 5 feet 1 inch high ; born at Barrow- on- Furness; formerly belonged to Belfast; parents reside at 115, Mountpottinger- road, Belfast; cut- mark on left cheek. Dress worn by juvenile when he absconded:— Moleskin jacket, trowsers, and vest, Glengarry cap, blue striped shirt, red tie, Blucher boots, and woollen stockings. The Manager of the Reformatory will defray the expenses of his conveyance, if arrested, to the nearest Justice on remand, and will reward the person who may capture him with XI. 4th Sept., 18if3. Dress worn by juvenile when he absconded:— Moleskin jacket, trowsers, and vest, Glengarry cap, blue striped shirt, black and red check tie, Blucher boots, anil woollen stockings. Description of THOMAS STANLEY ( name supposed to be fictitious), who stands charged with having, on the 21 st day of August, 1893, in the barony of Lower Dunluce, parish of Ballywillan, and town of Portrush, unlawfully and by fraud and fal « e pretences obtained from one Thomas Murray the sum of £ 5 sterling, and on the 22nd day of August, 1893, in the town of Portrush, aforesaid, from one James Applebv Mercer, one watch, value £ 1 15*.; one gold ring, value £ 2 10 « .; one gold keeper ring, value 11*.; and one gold pencil, value £ 2:— Slightly stooped, small dark moustache, turned up at ends, staring dark eyes, aquiline nose, pale complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 4 inches high, about 25 years of age, dark hair; wore a gray cloth cap, gray tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; represented himself ( believed falsely) as a lieutenant in the army. Warrant for his arrest in the hands of the Royal Irish Constabulary, Portru- th, county Antrim. Ballymoney, 27thAugust, 1893. ( 24346 c.— 16303). Man named GIRVAN or GREER ( obtaining money by false representations), described in issue of 1st September, not arrested. ( 23911 c.— 15611). MAN, unknown ( assault and attempting to stab), 4ne- and- Cry, 30th May, not arrested ( 21220 c.— 10717). PATRICK SCULLION, alias JORDAN ( firing at the person), described in Hue- and- Cry of 24th March, not arrested. ( 19619 c.— 7660.) Armagh, Description of JOHN PLUNKETT, native of 92, Phibsborough- road, Dublin, who stands charged with having, on the 16th day of July, 1893, at Armagh, in the barony of Armagh, parish of Armagh, obtained one sovereign by false pretences from Josiah Peel:— Rather awkward gait, turns out his toes when walking, left eye weak, may be wearing a bandage on it, small gray eyes, regular nose, dark sallow complexion, long face, medium make, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, about 40 years of age. black moustache and hair; wore a black hard hat, black coat, gray tweed trowsers, black vest; is a groom and stableman ; is on tramp through the country looking for employment. Description of a MAN, name and native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 20th July, 1893, at Killygarry, in the barony of Upper Loughtee, parish of Annageliffe, committed a rape on one: Anne Rogers-;— Has fresh cut- marks or scratches on faoe, believed left side, received in the struggle, large upper lip, fair complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 teet 8 inches high, about 30 years of age, sandy hair ; wore' a soft black hat, black heavy coat, light tweed trowsers; is a labourer. THOMAS DUIGNAN ( homicide), Hueand- Cry, 15th August, not arrested. ( 20286 o.— 8878). Clare. Description of JAMES LEE, alias MAY, native of Lambeth, London, S. W., PATRICK FLYNN, alias MAY ( mother's surname May), native of Church- street, Galway, and MICHAEL M'KEOWN, native of Float, county Westmeath, returned for trial to Ennis Quarter Sessions, 23rd October, charged with having, on the 5th September, 1893, in the barony of Bunrattv Upper, parish of Inchicronan, unlawfully entered the Roman Catholic Church of Crusheen, and stolen therefrom an incense boat, a spoon, and a candle- stick, the property ot the Rev. John Howard, P. P. :— 1. Shaves all face except rather heavy fair moustache ; lump under left ear; dark gray eyes, rather thick nose, fresh ruddy complexion, round full face, stout make, 5 feet 2 } inches high, about 48 years of age, dark hair turning gray; wore an old faded tweed suit, carries a straw plaited tool- bag ( carpenter's bass) ; is a rivet ter. 2. Dark gray eyes, regular nose, fair freckled com- plexion, oval face, medium make, 5 feet inches high, about 18 years of age ; wore a brown cap, old brown tweed coat, dark tweed trowsers, old brown tweed vest, carries a plaited straw tool- bag ( carpenter's bass), is a locksmith. 3. Fresh cut over left eyebrow, black heavy busby eyebrows meeting over nose, shaves all face except sandy moustache, gray eyes, regular nose, fair com- plexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 4 inches high, about 34 years of age ; wore a hard black hat, and old suit of gray tweed ; is a ballad- singer, and an ex- soldier. Description of a man, giving his name as JAMES O'NEILL, of no fixed residence, who has been returned for trial at Quarter Sessions, charged with having, on the; 22nd of August, 1893, in the barony of Boylagh, parish of Temptecrone, stolen the sum of £ 4 from the house of one Margaret O'Donnell : 4- Numerous tattoo marks on body, including caStk, wreath of thistles, and stars on breast; cross and Union Jack, rose and leaves ; crossed British flags and sunburst with letters " V. Description of JAMES CONNAUGHTON or CONNOUGHY, native of Belfast, who stands charged with having, on the 15th August, 1893, in the barony of Lower Iveagh, Upper Half, parish of Donacloney, fired a revolver shot at one Joseph Mulhollam, with intent to do grevious bodily harm:— Gray eyes, regular nose, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 35 years of age, brown hair; wore a gray tweed cap, gray tweed coat, and white moleskin trowsers : is a labourer. ( 19718 c.— 7860). Galway. MICHAEL GEOGHEGAN ( embezzlement), Hue- and- Cry of 1st September, not arrested. ( 23319c.— 14537). Kerry. Description of MICHAEL KENNEDY, native of Limerick city, who is at present in custody charged with having, on the morning of 17th August, 1893, in the barony of Glanarought, parish of Kenmare, bur- glariously entered the house of John Downing, Pound- lane,- Kenmare, and stolen theretrom the following articles of clothing, a cashmere skirt and woollen shawl, value £ 2 :•— Has lost left hand from elbow, gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, thin worn face, slight make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 40 years of age, fair hair, shaves all his face except moustache; wore a gray tweed coat, trowsers, and vest much worn; is a tramp. This man is at present on remand at Tralee gaol. He may have committed similar offences elsewhere, or may have been previously con- victed. Description of a MAN, name and native place un- known, who stands charged with having, on the 3rd August, 1893, at Leixlip, in the barony of North Salt, parish of Leixlip, stolen a cow, the property of George Soden, which has since been recovered :— Blue or gray eyes, straight nose, pale complexion, medium make, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, about 45 years of age, dark hair, turning gray, face clean shaved ; wore a dark cloth coat, trowsers, and vest; looks like a butler. Description of JOHN JOSEPH BROOKES, alias GEORGE LESTON, native of Newtownbarry, who stands charged with having, on the 13th July, 1893, in the barony of Narragh and Reban West, parish of St. Michael's, stolen an ass and cart, the property of one George Bailey, of Best. The ass and cart has been discovered and restored to owner :— Dark complexion, medium make, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, about 45 or 50 years of age, dark hair, small black side whiskers And moustache, chin shaved; wore a brown plaid tweed coat, corduroy trowsers, and tweed vest; is a tramp labourer. Athy, 18th July, 1893. ( 23639 c.— 15132.) TWO TRAMPS ( robbery), described in issue of 8th September, not arrested. ( 22921 c._ 13917). Kilkenny. Description of JOHN JOHNSTON, alias JOHN SIMPSON, supposed native of county Cavan, who stands charged with having, on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th August, 1893, in the barony of Callan, parish of Callan, obtained food and lodging, value 12s., from Catherine Molloy, Callan, by falsely representing him- self to be an Ex- Head Constable of the R. I. C.:— Active appearance, blue eyes, long nose, sallow com- plexion, thin lace, medium make, 5 feet 11 inches high, about 55 years of age, gray hair, beard, and whiskers; wore a hard black hat, gray tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a land steward and emergencyman. This man is at present on remand in Kilkenny Gaol, and may have committed similar offences elsewhere. Callan, 23rd August, 1893. ( 24210 c 16229.) King's Description of MICHAEL DUNNE, alias LARKIN, native of Rathfeston, Geashill, King's co., who stands charged on remand with having, on the 2' th day of July, 18^ 3, in the barony of Coolestown, parish of Monasteroris, unlawfully stolen from the open dwelling of Eugene O'Brien, a dust coat, value . for about 30s. : Lame slightly in left leg ; old scar- mark on forehead; middle finger of left hand flat, result of an accident; dark brown eyes, long nose, pale sallow complexion, long oval face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 40 years of age, dark hair turned almost gray; wore a black ( boatman'sl cap, short black coat, corduroy trowsers, dark tweed vest; is an Army R serve man, and has appearance of a labourer. Discharged from D Division Dublin Metropolitan Polic<* in Jan- uary, 1882. This man may have committed crime elsewhere ( see description of other articles found under heading of " Property Stolen"). Edenderry, 30th Aug, 1893. ( 24384 c.— 16364.) Description of the undernamed Young Offender, who, on the ist August, 1893, absconded from the Philipstown Reformatory School at King's County :— JAMES CARTY, No. 1,615, 16 years of age, 4 feet 10 inches high, medium make, fresh complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes, oi dinary nose, regular mouth, oval visage; formerly belonged to Dublin; mother resides at 11, Ash- street, Dublin. I'he J^ chool Dress all with Reformatory Stamp, consists of :— Moleskin vest, dark gray tweed tunic, trowsers uncertain ( had taken ofi Reformatory trow- sers), Glengarry cap, Blucher boots, No. 1,615. He is likely to go to Dublin. The Manager of the Reformatory will defray the expenses of his conveyance, if arrested, to the nearest Justice, on remand, and will reward the person who may capture him with £ 1. 3rd August, 1893. Description of the undernamed Young Offender, who, on the 24th July, 1893, absconded from the Philipstown Reformatory School at King's County :— JOHN MURRAY, No. 1,538, 16 years of age, 4 feet 11 inches high, medium make, sallow complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, ordinary nose, regular mouth, oval visage ; formerly belonged to 5 Gloucester- place, North, Dublin; parents reside at same place; stepfather, Joseph Carpenter ; abscess mark on right arm. The School Dress, all with Reformatory Stamp, consists of:— Moleskin trowsers and vest, dark tweed tunic, Glengarry cap, Blucher boots, No. 1,538. May hire for a time with a farmer, but is likely eventually to go to Dublin. The Manager of the Reformatory will defray the expenses of his conveyance, if arrested, to the nearest Justice, on remand, and will reward the person who may capture him with £ 1. ( 566 H. C.) LAURENCE HICKEY ( robbery from a house), Hue- and- Cry, 21st March, 1893, not arrested. ( 2012 c.— 8615.) LAURENCE ARCHER ( attempted murder), Hue- and- Cry, 21st March, 1893, not arrested. ( 19605 c.— 7584.) SARSFIELD BURKE ( assault on the Police), not arrested, Hue- and- Cry, 18th November, 1892. ( 19297 c.— 6972.) Limerick Description of KATE BURKE, native of Caher- norry, who, on 22nd July, 1893, in the barony of Clanwilliam, parish of Cahernorry, left her home, and has not since been heard of:— Dark eyes, thin nose, yellow complexion, rather thin face, slight make, 5 feet hifih, about 16 years of age, fair thin bair; wore a light plaid dress, red knitted shawl, elastic side boots ; is a servant. It is feared she may have met with foul play. Limerick, 31st August, 1893. ( 24447 c.— 16460). Description of EDMOND MOORE, native of Mitchelstowndown, who stands charged with having, on the 29th August, 1893, in the barony of Coshlea, parish of Knocklong, seriously assaulted William Lahey, and placed his life in danger:— Swaggering gait leans his head slightly forward when walking, brown eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, full round face, very stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 35 years ofage, dark hair turning gray; generally wears low hard black hat, gray tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a herdsman. Description of JOHN KENNEDY ( mother's sur- name Anderson), native of Cooga Upper, JAMES O'DONNELL ( mother's surname Anderson), native of Kilmoylan, and TIMOTHY O'DONNELL ( mother's surname Whelan), native of Kilmo^ lan, who stand charged with having, on the 27th August, 1893, in the barony of Coonagh, parish of Doon, been concerned in the murder of John O'Connell:— 1. Believed to have a fresh cut mark on one of the hands, supposed to be the right; awkward gait and leans forward when walking; dark eyes, long nose, sallow complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 19 years of age, dark hair; wore a dark cap, dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest, no beard or whiskers but slight dark moustache ; is likely to seek shelter from the caretakers of evicted or boycotted farms ; is a farmer's son. 2. Believed to have a fresh cut- mark on forehead, leans forward when walking ; gray eyes, regular nose, very sallow complexion, thin face, slight active make, 5 feet 11 inches high, about 20 years of age, brown hair; wore a snuff- colour tweed cap, tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a labourer. 3. Down- looking appearance, small dark drooping moustache, slightly bow- legged ; blue or gray eyes, regular nose, dark sallow complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 25 or 26 years• of age, dark hair; wore a black slouched hat, blue Serge coat, bright tweed trowsers, and blue serge vest: is a labourer. Warrants for the arrest of the three persons have been issued. Newpallas, 31st August, 1893. ( 24353 c.— 16461.) Description of GEORGE KIRWAN, native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 1st of July, 1893, in the barony ol Coonagh, parish of Doon, threatened to shoot Jeremiah Noonan :— Gray or blue eyes, regular nose, fiesh complexion, round full face, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 60 years of age; dark hair turning gray ; deficient the third finger of the right hand ; wore a dark tweed coat and vest. Is usually employed in caring evicted tenants' farms ; is an Army Pensioner and Caretaker. A warrant for his arrest has been issued. 30th July, 1983. ( 23715 a— 1557 JOSEPH O'REILLY ( embezzlement), Hue- and- Crv. 30th May, not arrested. ( 21596 c 11493). *' WILLIAM FITZGERALD ( charged with murder , Hue- and- Cry, 12th May, has not been arrested. ( 98360 86735.) londonderry. JAMES M'PEAKE ( serious assault), described in issue of 7th April, not arrested. ( 19864 c. 8141). Louth. Description of A. J. RYAN ( name supposed fictitious), who stands charged with having, on the 24th July, 1893, in the barony of Drogheda, parish of St. Peter's, obtained food and lodging, value £ 1 13s. 8d., from Catherine Durnen, Drogheda, by fraud and false pretences:— Good looking, wore dark moustache, shaved face, spoke with English accent, full brown eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, about 35 years of age, black hair; wore a brown hat, dark coat, dark trowsers, and dark vest. He is accompanied by a man and two women. They have been advertising a Gladstone bag and dresses in the Dublin papers for sale, and obtained money from several persons by that means under false pretences. Their descriptions are annexed. Warrant for A. J. Ryan's arrest is in the hands of the District Inspector at Drogheda. Description of Mr. RYAN :— Very delicate looking, spoke with an English accent, sallow complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 30 years of age, black hair; wore a dark round hat and dark coat. Description of Mrs. RYAN:— Very stout, good looking, spoke with an English accent, full brown eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, full face, very stout make, 5 feet 4 inches high, about 28 years of age, brown hair ; wore a light tweed dress. Description of Mrs. RYAN :— Very slight delicate appearance, spoke with an English accent, fair com- plexion, thin face, very slight make, 5 feet 1 inch high, about 27 years of age, fair hair ; wore a striped blue dress. It is probable these people may be committing similar offences elsewhere. Drogheda, 29th July, 1893. ( 23850 c— 15509.) iieiift. Description of JAMES WHELAN, who stands charged with having, on the 3rd August, 1893, in the barony of Clondonagh, parish of Rat' downey, robbed and assaulted on the high road one Johanna Keenan:— Gray eyes, thin nose, yellowish complexion, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 27 years of age; wore a sleeved waistcoat, dark trowsers and dark vest; is a labourer. Warrant issued for his arrest. Abbeyleix, 9th August, 1893. ( 23° 93 c.— 15835.) tipperary Description of THOMAS MOORE, native of Dublin, who stands charged with having, on the 14th July, 1893, in the barony of Lower Ormond, parish of Modreeny, embezzled the sum of £ 7 from his employer, Goodhand Pattison:— Old scar on finger of right hand, good looking, brown eyes, thin nose, sallow complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, about 18 years of age, black hair, wore a one- peaked cap, black coat, brown trowsers with a light stripe; is a servant, was 9 months in army. Warrant in hands of Sergeant, at Cloughjordan. Roscrea, 16th July, 1893. ( 23582 c 15038). JOHN MALOUGHNEY ( attempted rape), Hue- and- Cry, 8th September, not arrested. ( 22940 c— 13940.) DUBLIN METROPOLITAN POLICE 6 Division Particulars relative to convict WILLIAM M'MASTER, alias ARMSTRONG, convicted at Downpatrick, county Down, at the Quarter Sessions, on 1st October, 1889, for burglary, after previous conviction for felony, and sentenced to 5 years' penal aervitude:— 19 years of age on conviction, single, is a porter; born at Portadown; resided before con- viction at Hollywood, county Down; his friends reside at Belfast; light brown hair, gray eyes, light brown eyebrows, prominent nose, small mouth, fresh complexion, oval visage, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high ; ulcer marks on neck, cut on back of right hand, and between eyebrows. This man was released from Maryboro' Prison on licence, 7th July, 1893, and went to reside at Belfast. He left residence on 1st instant without reporting to the Royal Irish Constabulary, and his present where- abouts is unknown. Particulars relative to convict PATRICK CON- NOR, c. 339, convicted at Naas, county Kildare, at the Summer Assizes, on 15th July, 1890, for larceny from person, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude :— 34 years ot age, single, is a dealer, born in Dublin, resided before conviction in Dublin where his friends reside ; light brown hair, blue eyes, li^ ht brown eye- brows, large nose, small mouth, fresh complexion, oval visage, medium make, 5 ieet 5 inches high; cut on left temple, mole on right cheek, PC, MK, NM, crown, harp, shamrock on right forearm. This man was released from Mountjoy Prison on licence, 24th December, 1891, and went to reside at 25, Denmark- st., Dublin. He has recently left his residence without reporting to the Police, and his present whereabouts is unknown. Particulars relative to convict DAVID HAMIL- TON, c. 297, convicted at Belfast, at Quarter Sessions, on 4th December, 1888, for supplying false information to the Registrar of Deaths, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude, and 5 years' police supervision :— 34 years of age, single, is a blocker; born at Temple, patrick, county Antrim resided before conviction in Belfast where his friends reside; brown hair, gray eyes, brown eyebrows, small nose, large mouth, fresh complexion, oval visage, proportionate make, 5 feet 2 inches high; cut on top of head and near left eye, mole back of right hand, varicose veins in left leg, ruptured left side, getting bald. This man was released from Maryboro' Prison on licence, October, 1892, and went to reside at Belfast. He left his residence on or about 20th ulto., without reporting to Royal Irish Constabulary, and his present whereabouts is unknown. Particulars relative to convict JAMES MAGUIRE, otherwise HUGH PRIM, 695, convicted at Dublin, at Recorder's Court, on 26th November, 1886, for housebreaking, and sentenced to 7 years' penal servi- tude:— 50 years of age on conviction, single,' is a labourer; born at Dublin; resided before conviction at Dublin; gray hair, hazel eyes, sandy eyebrows, regular nose, large mouth, pale complexion, oval visage, medium make, 5 feet 5 inches high ; cut- marks on forehead, wart on chin, right side of nose, corner of right eye, and on right cheek. This man was released from Mountjoy Prison, on 10th July, and left on 14 th July, for Bristol. He has not reported himself at the latter, and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112, sec. 5, as amended by Penal Servitude Act, 1891. 21st August, 1893. ( 571 H. O.) Description of PATRICK DALY, who was con- victed of larceny at Monaghan Assizes, on 9th March, 1889, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude, and who is now wanted on Warrant in consequence of the licence granted to him on 24th November, 1892, for the unexpired term of said sentence having been revoked :— He is 51 years old, 5 feet 8 inches high, light brown hair, beard, whiskers, and moustache, fresh complexion, gray eyes, cut mark on front of forehead, left side, lost one front tooth, upper jaw, kick mark on left shin, is a labourer, and was born at Tipperary. A gold locket, with black silk guard attached ; value for 10*. 4. An imitation gold locket; value for 2s. 5. Description of articles the property of Thomas Sullivan, which were burglariously stolen from his dwelling- house at Bealad East, parish of Ktlkerrin- more, barony of Ibane and Barryroe, on the night of 1st or morning of 2nd September, 1893;—- One suit of brown tweed, plaid pattern, nearly new ; one American gilt clock, horseshoe shape; three coloured flannelette shirts; £ 2 18s. in cash, as follows— 2 one pound notes, half sovereign, and eight shillings in idlver. A tramp of the following description is very strongly suspected, name and native place unknown, represents himself as a tailor, active military appearance, small brown eyes, regular nose, fresh com- plexion, round face, prominent cheek bones, slight make, 5 feet 7 inches high, and about 30 years of age, shaves all his face except moustache which is fair, had a week's growth of beard on ; wore a hard felt hat, black cloth coat, sack make, light brown trowsers and vest. KWt Description of pawn tickets found on Michael Dunne, alias Larkin, arrested on 21st August, 1893, on a charge of having stolen a dust coat from the open dwelling of Eugene O'Brien, in the barony of Coolestown, parish of Monasteroris, on 29th July, 1893:— 1. For suit and carpet bag pawned at South Rich- mond- street, Dublin, April, 1893. 2. For busks, pawned at Clarendon- street, Dublin, 4th July, 1893. 3. For w. e. boots, pawned at Cuffe street, Dublin, 5th July, 1893. 4. For vest and blue serge pants, pawned at Athlone, 6th August, 1893. 5. For boots, pawned in Tullamore, 21st August, 1893. A strap, bearing name P. Maguire, Mullingar, and fitting into boots at No. 5, was also found on him.
