JJT All Notices intended for insertion in the Hue- and- Cry are to be transmitted under cover, addressed to the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, authenticated by a Separate Communication. No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn ; but it is not necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. Notices respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. All Descriptions of persons whose apprehension is sought on a charge of Misdemeanour should be accompanied by a statement that a Warrant has been issued, and by the name of the person in whose hands it is. But the Constabulary should remember that they cannot arrest a person charged with an offence of this nature unless they have the Warrant in their possession when making the arrest. %• Should irregularities arise in the delivery of the Huo- and- Cry, it will be necessary to forward one of the covers, or give the number it bears, M without this information tho mistake cannot be rectified. Prison and Police Authorities are particularly requested to be good enough to inform the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, of the abolition of Gaols, Stations, < fcc., and of any circumstances rendering the supply of the " Hue- and- Cry" no longer necessary. Description of a MAN, name and native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 6th March, 1893, in the barony of Lower Toome, parish of Kirkinriola, assaulted and attempted to stab with a knife Rose Gilmer, and threatened to murder her:— Very dary eyes, regular nose, dark swarthy complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches higb, about 30 years of age, dark bair, no whiskers or beard, may have a slight moustaohe; wore a black greasy cap, dark or black coat, dark trowsers and vest ; trade or occupation unknown; has the appearance of an engine fitter, mechanic, or sailor on tramp. PATRICK SCULLION, alias JORDAN ( firing at the person), described in Hue and- Cry of 24th March, not arrested. ( 19619 o.— 7660.) Armagh Particulars relative to convict HUGH DAILY, c 72, convicted at Armagh at the Assizes, on 14th July, 1886, for manslaughter, and sentenced to penal servitude for life, commuted to 10 years55 years of age on conviction, married, is a labourer, born at Tullykevin, county Armagh, resided before conviction at Blackwater, county Armagh, where his friends reside; gray hair, gray eyes, gray eyebrows, large nose, largo mouth, fresh complexion, oval worn visage, medium make, 5 feet inches high ; cut- mark between left thumb and finger, nail of right thumb split, lost some teeth. This man was released from Maryboro' Prison, 17th July, 1892, on licence. He left Armagh on 30th ult., and has not since been heard of. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112, as amende by Penal Servitude Act, 1891. 27th April, 1893. ( 551 H. C.) Cavan. Description of JAMES CORRIGAN, native of Gortamoan, county Fermanagh, who stands charged with having, on the 22nd April, 1893, at Blacklion, in the barony of Tullyhaw, parish of Killinagh, seriously assaulted one William Armstrong, by sJjjk^ jjgJLiim with a stick on the head:— Gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, long thin face, slight make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 17 or 18 years of age, light fair hair; wore a tweed cap, dark jacket, gray tweed, knickerbockers, and long brown stockings; is a farmer's son. Description of JANE M'ENROE ( supposed fictitious), native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 22nd day of February, 1893, in the barony of Upper Loughtee, parish of Urney, abandoned her infant child ( under 2 years), so as to endanger its life:— Sullen appearance; small suken eyes, slightly hooked nose, sallow complexion, long full face, stout make, 5 feet 3 or 4 inches higb, about 21 years of age, black hair, with a monkey fringe; wore a black dreis and jacket, with a flowered prirt jacket nnderneath, a black hat, *> ith some reddish flowers, and carried an umbrella; supposed to be a farmer's servant. Description of THOMAS DUIGNAN, native of Fatron, Ardlogher, county Cavan, who stands charged with having, on the 2cd January, 1893, in the barony of Loughtee Lower, parish of Tomregan, caused the death of Ellen M'Kiernan by blowB and kicks:— Gray eyes, short thick nose, sallow com- plexion, thin face, stout active make, 6 feet 6 inches high, about 22 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a peak cap, light coat, light tweer" trowsers and vest; is a labourer. Killeshandra, lltb Jan. 1893, ( 20286 887a) inscription of WILLIAM HEWITT, Junior ( Mother's surname M'Meikle), native of Drum- connick, Cavan, who stands charged with having, on the 13th December, 1892, in the barony of Upper Loughtee, parish of Urney, stabbed one Moses Rourke with a penknife, and being bound by recognizance to appear at Cavan Petty Sessions on 19th Decem- ber, 1892, has absconded from his bail:— Prominent teeth, square shoulders, active appearance; dark eyes, slightly hooked nose, dark complexion, regular face, slight make, 6 feet 1 inch high, about 28 years of age, dark hair; wore a black hard hat, dark coat, trowsers, and vest; is a farmer's son. Description of CHARLES O'HALLORAN, sup- posed native of county Galway, who stands charged with having, on the 29th April, 1893, in the barony of Tulla Upper, parish of Tomgraney, stolen from the dwelling- house of Catherine Murphy, Tomgraney:— A gold cross, about 2 inches long ; a gold ring, set in ruby stones; a heart - shaped medallion, and some white handkerchiefs, marked H. Hogan ; all value for about £ 5 :— Good- looking, handsome face, speaks with an English accent; long nose, fair complexion, round face, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 20 years of age, rather fair hair; wore a light- coloured peak cap, gray tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; smart address; carries a br^ wn walking stick. Description of a WOMAN, name and native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 12th April, 1893, in the barony ol Bunratty Lower, parish of Bunratty, abandoned a male child, aged about 6 months, whereby the life of said child was endangered :— Very freckled face ; blue eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, long thin face, medium make, 5 feet 2 inches high, about 33 years of age, red hair; wore an old red dress, old gray shawl, no boots; is a tramp. Description of JOSEPH DOREY, native of Naul county Dublin, who stands charged with having, on the 4th April, 1893, in the barony of Rathdown, parish of Taney, escaped from Duadrum Criminal Lunatic Asylum, where he was confined during the pleasure of Her Majesty:— Lost some of his front teeth, broad stooped shoulders, steps short when walk- ing, and turns in his toes; high cheek bones, high forehead, shaves face except moustache and side whiskers, which it is likely he will get removed, blue sunken eyes, regular nose, florid complexion, long face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 35 years of age, light flaxen hair; wore a black morning coat, black trowsers and vest, all of same material, descrip- tion of hat not known ; is a coachman. Information required concerning THOMAS MARTIN, native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 21st December, 1892, in the barony of Magheraboy, parish of Inishmacsaint, ob- tained goods by false pretences from James Earls, Slavin, Belleek. Description of JAMES COFFEY, native of Knockeraville, county Westmeath, who stands charged with having, on the night of 19th or morning of 20th April, 1893, in the barony of Moyashel and Maghera- dermon, parish of Dysart, stolen 3 sheep and 3 lambs :— Greatly bow- legged, result of being broken when training horses; gray or blue eyes, regular nose rather sharp, fair complexion, thin face, medium make, about 5 feet 5 inches high, between 26 and 30 years of age, fair hair; wore a gray tight coat, tight fitting trowsers, black woollen cardigan jacket under his coat, heavy brass watch chain, will probably be found about horse training stables; is a horse trainer and groom. Description of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 19th March, ] 893, absconded from the Saint Kevin's Reformatory School at Glencree, county Wicklow :— THOMAS PERRY, No. 2,441, about 19 or 20 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, stout make, fair complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes, large nose, ordinary mouth, oval or round visage, and rather sour- looking ; formerly belonged to SO, Jervis- street, Dublin; mother and brother reside at 57, Great Strand- street, Dublin; " T" and " J. P." tattooed on right forearm. Tbe School dress, all with Reformatory Stamp, consists of:— Moleskin trowsers and vest, cloth cap ( Scotch make), strong nailed boots, No. 2,441. This boy worked as a shoemaker for some time in Skerries, county Dablin. He will endeavour to leave the country and probably to enlist, if he cannot get work at the 6hoemaking. Particulars relative to convict JOHN BROWN, otherwise STeWART, convicted at Glasgow, at Circuit Court, on 26th February, 1884, for burglary, and sentenced to 10 years' penal servitude:— 34 years of age on conviction, is a weigher; born in Glasgow; dark brown hair, hazel eyes, brown eyebrows, regular nose, ordinary mouth, fresh complexion, oval visage, proportionate make, 5 feet 6 inches high. This man was released from Portland Prison on licence, 3rd January, 1893. He was sentenced to 1 calendar months' hard labour, at Wicklow Petty Sessions, for failing to report himself, & c., and on expiration thereof went to reside at South King- street, Dublin, which place he left without reporting to Police. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112, sec. 5, as amended by Penal Servitude Act, 1891. 15th May, 1893. ( 554 H. C.) Description of JOSEPH M'DONNELL, who was convicted of rape, at the Mayo Assizes, on 10th of July, 1889, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude, and who is now wanted on Warrant, in consequence of the licence granted to him on 1st April, 1893, for the unexpired term of said sentence having been revoked:— He is 26 years old, 5 feet 6$ inches high, brown hair, blue eyes, brown eyebrows, regular nose and mouth, pale complexion, oval visage, proportionate make; cut on forehead and on right side of top of head, mole and scar on chin, large scar on right wrist, flesh - mark on left wrist; is a blacksmith, and a native of Claremorris, county Mayo. Particulars relative to convict GEORGE CAMPBELL, otherwise SAMUEL ROBINSON, c 55, convicted at Downpatrick, county Down, at Assizes, on 13th March, 1886, for larceny and previous conviction, and sentenced to 7 years' penal servitude, and 851 days of a former sentence:— 55 years of age, married, is a saddler, born in Larne, his friends reside near Larne; brown hair turning gray, gray eyes, dark brown eyebrows, large hooked nose, large mouth, fresh complexion, broad visage, stont make, 5 feet 5 inches high; cut- mark on ball of left thumb, lost nearly all front teeth. This man was released from Mountjoy Prison on 6th inst., and reported himself to the Dublin Metro- politan Police. He stated he would return and notiiy his residence, but he has not done so, and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112, sec. 6, as amended by Penal Servitude Act, 1891. 13th March, 1893. ( 542 H. C.) Particulars relative to conviot THOMAS BURKE, c 313, convicted at Limerick at County Quarter Sessions, on 5th April, 1889, for breaking into a shop and stealing, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude, and 2 years' police supervision:— 53 years of age on conviction, single, is a labourer; born in Dublin resided before conviction in Limerick; dark brown hair, blue eyes, light brown eyebrows, large nose, regular mouth, fresh complexion, oval visage, medium make, 5 feet 10 inches high; cuts on head, cross and dot on back of right wrist, varicose veins in right leg. This man was released from Maryboro' Prison on 4th January, 1893, and went to Cork. He left his residence, 2, Old George's- street, in that city, on 6th ult., without reporting to Royal Irish Constabulary, and his present whereabouts is unknown. N. 240), native of Longton, who stands charged with having failed to report himself, being a convict on licence, he having been liberated from Borstal Convict Prison on the 20th March, 1893 :— 1 Nose inclines to right, hair thin top of head, scar centre of forehead, left eye weak, mole left shoulder, mole left side ribs, mole loft buttock, scar between thumb and finger and top of first finger right hand, cut on each eyebrow, cut on upper loft arm, 42 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, fresh complexion, brown hair, gray eyes. For obtaining, by false pretences, on the 25th instant, a gent's new silver English lever watch, No. 9,158, " J. Winder, Kendal" on bar; a gent's silver Albert guard, dog- chain pattern, which has for a pendant a medal, with a round shield on one side, and plain on the reverse side : A MAN, name unknown, 30 to 35 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, dark complexion, dark moustache, short whiskers all round, well built, full face, wavy hair, slightly bushy at sides; dressed in dark check morning coat, lighter trowsers, and light cap with peak. His hands look like a workman's hands, second finger right hand has been amputated between first and second joints; carried a stick with a silver knob. Has a dark overcoat and white silk muffler with him, also white straw hat, with blue and white striped ribbon round. Warrant issued.
