Published for Ireland on every Tuesday and Friday, g^ f All Notices intended for insertion in the Hue- and- Cry are to be transmitted under cover, addressed to the Inspector- Genoral, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, authenticated by a Separate Communication. No Description cw be inserted unless an Information shq. ll have been Sworn j but it is not neoeesary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. Notices respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. All Descriptions of persons whose apprehension is sought on a charge of Misdemeanour should be accompanied by a statement that a Warrant has been Issued, and by the name of the person in whose hands it is. But the Constabulary should remember that they cannot arrest a person charged with an offence of this nature unless they have the Warrant in their possession when making the arrest. %* Should irregularities arise in the delivery of the Huo- and- Cry, it will be necessary to forward one of tbe covers, or give the number it bears, as without this information the mistake cannot be rectified, Prison and Police Authorities are particularly requested to be good enough to - inform the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, of tho abolition of Gaols, Stations, & c., and of any circumstances rendering the supply of the " Hue- and- Cry " no longer necessary. Description of a MAN, name end nativo place x unknown, who stands charged with iiaving, on the 6th March, 1693, in tie barony of Lower Toome, parish of Kirkinriola, assaulted and attempted to stab with knife Rose Gilmer, and threatened to murder her:— Very dary eyes, regular noie, dark swarthy complexion, full face, stout make, 5 jeet 6 inches high, abont 30 jears of age, dsrk hair, no whiskers or heard, may have a slight mcustacho; wore a black greasy cap, dark or blsck coat, dark trowsers and vest; trade cr occupation unknown; has tbo appearance of an engine fitter, mechanic, or sailor on tramp. ( 21220 10717) Description of PATRICK SCULLION, alias JORDAN ( mother's surname Jordan), has friends noar Bellagby, county Londonderry, native, of Killv- garroc, who stands charged with having, on the night ol istf December, 18^ 2, in the barony of Lower Toome, parish of Portglenone, fired three shots from a revolver at John Agnew, with intent to shoot him, and snappod said revolver at Daniel Agnew twice, with intent to shoot him:— Square shoulders, no beard or moustache, appears never to have shaved} blue eyes,, long nose, sallow complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 28 yesrs of age, brown hair ; wore a brown tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a farmer's son. Description of JANE M'ENROE '( supposed fictitious), native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 22nd day of February, 1893, in the bsrery of Upper Longhtee, parish of Urney,- abandoned her infant child ( under 2 years), to as to erdanger its life:— Sullen eppearance; small snken eyes, slightly hooked rwe. sallow complexion long full ftee, stout make, 5 feet 3 or 4 inches high, about 21 years of age, black hair, with a monkey fringe; wore a bleck dress and jacket, with a flowered print jacket tndernestb, a black hat, with some reddish flowers, and carried an umbrella; supposed to be a farmer's servant. Inscription of WILLIAM HEWITT, Junior ( Mother's surname M'Meikle), native of Drum- connick, Cavan, who stands charged with having, on the 13th December, 1892, in the barooy of Upper Longhtee, parish of Urney, stabbed one Moses Rourke with a penknife, and being bound by recognizance to appear at Cavan Petty Sessions on 19th Decern ber, 1892, has absconded from his bail:— Prominent teeth, square shoulders, active appearance; dark eyes, slightly hooked nose, dark complexion, regular face slight make, 6 feet 1 inch high, about 28 years of age, dark hair; were a black bard hat, dark coat, trowsers, and vest; is a farmer's sor. Description of ROBERT CREE ( mother's surname Campbell), native of Bangor, who stands charged with having, on the nigbt of the 14th January, 1893, in the barony of Lower Castlereagh, parish of Bangor, feloniously and burglariously broken and entered the dwelling house of Thomas Jamison, and stolen there- from the sum of £ i 10*.:— Tattoo marks on both ams, bracelet tattooed on left wrist, ring on middle finger of laft band, blue eyes, regular nose, fresh com- plexion, round face, stont make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about $ 8 years of age, fair lair, shaved all face except moustache which is fair; wore a black cap with peak, brown tweed coat, trowsers, and ves't, checked bar in tweed, suit somewhat worn; is a labourer, and served in the Royal Horse Artillery. Particulars relative to Convict JOSEPH KELLY, or CONNOR, < fcc., c 254, convicted at Downpatrick, county Down, at the Summer Assizes, on the 14th July, 1 » 88, for horse stealing and previous conviction, and sentenced to 5 yearn' penal servitude:— 49 years of age on conviction, single, is a iowl dealer; born in Dublin; has no fixed plac9 of residence; his friends reside in London; brown hair, blue eyes, brown eyebrows, large ncse, medium mouth, sallow com- plexion, routd v'sa^ e, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high ; two sailors and two flags on left arm, faded tattooing back of left hand; yacht and faded tattooing on right arm, wrist, and back of hand. This man was released from Mountjoy Prison on licence, 6th December, 1898, and went to Belfast on the 7th instant, he reported that ho was going to reside at Huddertfield, Yorkshire, bnt he has not reported himself at the latter place, and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest ho shonld be dealt with nnder 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 118, sec. 5, as amended by Penal Servitude Act, 1891. ( 526 H. C.) Description of PATRICK LAWLESS, native of Dermotstown, who stands charged with having, on the 7th day of December, J 892, in the barony of Balrothery East, parish of Bslscadden, attempted to commit rape:— Down- looking appearance, large tooth right side of upper jaw; thick nose, pale complexion, broad face, stout make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 18 yesrs ef age, very fair bair; wore a gray tweed cap, fricso cciat, dark tweed trowsers, and tweed vest; is a labourer. Description of PATRICK SHEA ( Mother's sur- name Sullivan), wbo stands charged with having, on tbe 3rd day of January, 1893, in tbe barony of Iveragh, parish of Prior, murdered John M'Carthy, of Lahorn South, by stabbing him with a knife, and seriously wounded Patrick M'Carthy his brother, of same place, by stabbing;— Believed to have old- cut mark on fore- head at root of hair, dark eyes, thick ncse, fresh or sallow complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 22 years of age, dark hair; wore a slouched bat, black sack coat, gray tweed trowsers, black vest, He may have changed ttese clothes for a suit of black; is a farmer's son. Description of MICHAEL READE, native of Kilmoganny, who stands charged with having, on the 8th June, 1892, in the barony of Municipal Borough, patish of St Mary's, stolen a silver Geneva Wbtch from one James Blanchford. The watch was found cn the accused when arrestsd, and he was bound by recognizance tcfappear at Thomastown Petty Sessions on 7th March, 1( 93, but failed < o appear, and fcss absconded:— Dark brown eye?, regumr ncse, pals complexion, tbin face, slight make, 5 feet f i inchcs high, aloat 20 or 21 year] of age, dark hair, no beard or whiskers; wore a tweed cap, tweed coat, light tweed trowsers and vest, is good looking and of respectable appearance; is a groom or stableboy. Description of LAURENCE ARCHER, native of Kilkerny, who stands charged with baving, cn the 2Sth November, 18S2, at Coolhill, in tbe barony of Ida, parish of Rower, attempted to murder his wife, by cutting her throat ;— Shaves all the face, except small sandy side whiskers, may have the marks of a dog's teeth on one ol bis hands; gray eyes, short pointed rose, fair complexion, tbin lace, medium make, 6 feet 4 or 6 inches high, about 45 years of age, fair hair; were a gray tweed cap, dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a farmer ENi a woodranger. Wants an upper front tooth, thick lips, high prominent moutb, shaves all the faco, gray eyes, regular nose, pale sallow complexion, long face, medium make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 26 years of age, brown hair; wore a gray tweed cap, gray tweed sack coat, gray trowsers and vest; is a cooper. 2. Scar on right side of neck caused by the stab of a fork, bald en the top of head, large forehead, small gray eyes, regular cose, fresh complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 29 years of sge, light brown hair, small fair moustache; wore a brown tweed cap, dark tweed sack coat, dark tweed trowsers and vest; is a farmer. Description of a MAN, name and native place unknown, wbo stands charged with having, on the 26th January, 1893, in the borough of Limerick, parish of St. Michael's, stolen a mare, the property of John Rainsford, of Clonkeen, Barrington's Bridge Company, Limerick:— Red complexion, long tbin face, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 26 years of age, foxy moustache; wore a cap and dark clothes; appeared like a tidy farmer's son. Description of JAMES M'PEAKE ( mother's surname M'Kenna), native of Ballymacpeake, who stands charged with having, on the 7th November, 1892, in tho barcny of Loughinsholin, parish of Maghera, seriously assaulted and inflicted grievous bodily harm oa one, Henry Mulholland, thereby placing his life in danger :_ Very flat feet, knockneed ; gray or blue eyes, slightly cocked nose, fair com- plexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 20 years of age, brown hair; wore a black cap, dark tweed coat and trowsers. Description of MARY MOLONEY, native of county Limerick, who stands charged with having, on the 28th January, 1893, at Ballyhane, in the barony of Kilnamanagh Upper, parish of Toem, stolen a purse bolonging to Alice Lloyd, containing one pound and ten shillings, also with obtaining goods by falsa pretences:— Prominent front teeth, slight space between them, lisps when speaking and generally laughs when spokan to; dark eyes; swarthy com- plexion : medium make; 5 feet high ; about 35 years of age ; black hair, curly in front; woro an old black dress, old black shawl, laced boots, and wore a neck- lace with beads; tramp and servant girl.
