TXONI % gT All Notices intended for insertion in the Hue- and- Ory are to be transmitted under cover, addressed to the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, authenticated by a Separate Commtmication. No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn; but it is not necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. Xotioes respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. All Descriptions of persons whose apprehension is sought on a charge of Misdemeanour should be accompanied by a statement that a " Warrant has been iasue^ ' by tie name of the ] tetnon in whose hands it is. But the Constabulary should remember that they cannot arrest a person charged with an offence of this unless they have the Warrant in their possession when making the arrest. Should irregularities arise in the delivery of the Hue- and- Cry, it will be necessary to forward one of the oovers, or give the number it bears, as without this ^ tniinHnii tbe mistake cannot bo rectified. Prison and Polioe Authorities are particularly requested to be good enough to inform the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Oaatle of the petition of Gaols, Stations, be., and of any circumstances rendering the supply of the " Hue- and- Cry " no longer necessary. Description o< the two undernamed young offenders, who, on the 9th June, 1892, absconded from the Malone Reformatory School at Belfast:— JOHN BALIE, 19 years of age, dark hair, dark brown eyet, dark brown eyebrows, regular nose, regular mouth, fresh con plexion, oval visage, stout make, 5 feet 3 inches high, is a farm labourer, born at Bangor, county Down, formerly belonged to Bangor, county Down, parents reside at 1, Church- street, Bangor; scar on top of bead, chicken chested, scar above right eyebrow. The school dress consists of:— Moleskin jacket, browsers, and vest, Glengarry cap, blue and white stripe ihirt, red and black check tie, Blucher boots, and woollen stockings. HUGH BELL, 18 years of age, brown hair, brown eyes, brown eyebrows, regular note, large mouth, fresh complexion, oval visage, stout make, 6 feet 2 inches high, is a farm labourer, born at Clifton- street, Belfast, formerly belonged to Clifton- street, Belfast, parents reside at 55, Mountjoy- street, Bel- fast ; chicken chested, scrofula marks on neck, large swollen glands. The school dress consists of:— Moleskin jacket, trowsers, and vest, Glengarry cap, blue and white stripe shirt, red end black check tie, Blucher boots, and woollen stockings. Description of JAMES BEATTY, native of Fermoy. who stands charged with havinst, on the 27th May, 1892, in tie barony of Fermoy, parish of Mallow, stolen a horse, the property of Edward Fitzgibbon:— Good- looking, smart military appearance, speaks with English accent, shaves all face except small side whiskers; gray eyes, slightly booked nose, fresh com- plexion, long face, medium make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 30 years of age, brown hair; wore a black hat, dark pilot coat, light tweed trowsers, black vest, and brown leather leggings; is a groom. DE COBAIN, native oi Belfast, who stands charged that he did, within the past two years, at Belfast, commit an act of gross indecency with another male person, and within the tame time, and at the place aforesaid did incite divers other male persons to commit sodomy:— Walks erect, • qoart; shoulders, corpulent, contracts eyebrows when speaking, gray eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, full lace, stout make, 6 feet 10 inches high, about 48 years of age, dark brown hair s wore a silk hat, black Chesterfield overcoat, black frock coat, dark trowsers, and dark vest. Description of MARY FOLEY, alias MARGARET DOHERTY, native of Lismore, county Waterford who stands charged with having, on the 12th July 1892, in the barony of Barrymore, parish of Carrig- twohill, converted to her own usa the sum of £ 5, which was given to her by her mistress, Miss Fitzgerald, ot Ballintubrid, to be delivered to anotter person;— Very small feet; ulna eyes, regular nose; tresh complexion, red tat iace, stoat make, 5 feet 4 inches high, about 20 years ot age, light brown wavy hair ; wore a pink blouse, dark shawl, whitish apron, no head dress; is a domestic servant. Description of DANIEL CONNELL ( mother's surname Touhy), native of Cloughoolia, who stands charged with having, on the 19th day ot May, 1892, in the barony of Fermoy, parish of Monaniny, attempted to commit a rape on Catherine Healy, a child under 13 years of age;— Walks with a swagger, has an impediment in his speech, and was in America for some time ; dark brown eyes, regular nose, ruddy complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 28 years of age, black hair ; wore a light brown hat, black coat, brown tweed trowsers and vest; is a farmer's son. Particulars relative to Convict PATRICK GIL- CHRIST, c 376, convicted at Naas, county Kildare, at Assizes, on 5th March, 1890, for larceny, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitdne, reduced to 2 years 28 years of age on conviction, single, is a THE POLICE GAZETTE, OK HUE- AND- CRY, AUGUST 12, 1892. tailor, born in Dublin, no fixed residence, bis friend* reside in Dublin; liglt brown bair, gray eyes, light brown eyebrows, meoium nose, regular month, fresh complexion, oval visage, medium make, 6 feet 1 inch high; abscess- mark on left cheek, cat- mark on first and second left fingers, cut- mark on right wrist. This man was released from Mountjoy Prison on licence, 30th May, 1892. He left Delgany, county Wicklow, on 1st instant, without reporting to the police, and his present whereabouts is unknown. Description of WILLIAM POWER, native of Ardvullane, who stands charged with having, on the 28th day of May, 1892, at Lattin, in the barony of Clanwilliam, parish of Lattin, district of Tipperary, seriously assaulted John Dannaher, by kicking him on the head, thereby placing his life in danger:— Dark eyes, cocked nose, dark complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 18 years of age, black hair; wore a gray cap, black ooat, gray trowsers, and black vest; is a farmer's son. ( 15732 c.— 1003.\ Description of JEREMIAH FINEGAN, alias WALTER FERGUSON, native of Stradone, county Cavan, who has been returned for trial on the charge of having, on the night of 29th or morning of 30th April, 1892, in the barony of West Omagh, parish of Skirts of Urney, broken into the Manse in connection with the g2nd Castlederg Presbyterian Church, and stolen therefrom 26 keys and a piece of marble;— Has a good address and appears to have got a good edncation; blue eyes, straight nose, fair complexion, regular faoe, medium make, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 50 years of age, sandy hair turning gray; wore a brown tweed cap, old drab coat, dark tweed trowsers, and black vest; is a tramp. Description of ANDREW BOTTS ( mother's surname Kavansgh), native of Enniskerry, who stands charged with having, on the 21st May, 1892, in the barony of Rathdown, parish of Powersoonrt, com- mitted a burglary in a dwelling- house belonging to Mr. Francis Buckley, Hotelkeeper, Enniskerry; Botts was bailed to take his trial at Wicklow Quarter Sessions on 16th June, 1892, but failed to surrender to his recognizance :— Small dark gray eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 85 or 40 years « f age, dark hair ; wears all bis beard which is dark, shaves upper lip; wore a dark frock coat, dark tweed trowsers aad vest; may bs found wearing moleskin trosrsers, dark coat and vest, and shoes without nails ; is a labourer ; is suspected of beiag either in Dublin or Liverpool. Warrant for his arrest lies with Sergeant Hughes, Enniskerry. Bray, 18th June, 189?. ( 16087 c.— 2108.) Description of JAMES WELLS, supposed a native of England, who stands charged with having, on divers occasions during the month of May, 1892, in the barony of Rathdown, parish of Bray, county Dublin, unlawfully by fraud and false pretences obtained money and goods amounting to £ 3 14 « . 6d from Isaac Epstein, with intent to defraud:— slight limp when walking, speaks with an English accent, smart appear- ance ; gray or blue eyes, regular nose, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 11 inches high, about 30 years of age, light- coloured hair; wore a brown felt hat, bine cloth jacket, moleskin trowsers, blue striped vest, white muffler, or tie, and new laced boots; is a navvy, generally at public works. Warrant issued. Bray, 3rd June, 1892. ( 16050 0 1572).) Description of JOHN WILSON ( mother's surname not known, but resides at No. 8, South Kine- ttreet, Dublin) native of Glasgow, who stands charged with having, on the night of the 15th May, 1892, in the barony of Newcastle, parish of Kilcoole, being con- cealed in Bromley Demesne, under circumstances denoting that he was there for the purpose of committing a felony, and unable to give a good account of himself, lodging in the open air, and without any visible means of subsis: ence, and escaping from custody of police :— Blue or gray eyes, pale complexion, regular face, stout make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 35 years of age; wore an old dark hard hat, long dark coat, light trowsers. Speaks with a Scotch aceertt; is known to the police in counties of Dublin, Wicklow, and Wex- ford ; is a tramp. Warrant issued. Bray, 1st June, 1892. ( 16010 c.— 1482.) Particulars relaiive to Convict PATRICK FINN, convicted at Wicklow, at Winter Assizes ( Leinster Winter Assizn County), on 19th Decembtr, 1887, for rape, and sentenoed to 5 year's penal servitude :— 29 jj years on conviction, read and write, is a Roman Catholic, single, is a labourer; born in Dublin; resided before conviction in Tullow, county Carlow, where his friends reside:— Dark trown hair, gray ejes, dark brown eyebrows, medium nose, regular mouth, sallow complexion, oval visage, proportionate make, 5 feet 4f inches hifcn; M. F., A. S., P. F., A. F., M. H., anchor, A. S., P. F., on left forearm; A. F. on left upper arm ; P. F., P. H. on back of left hand ; three rows of dots round left wrist; ai ckor on middle finger; and ring fourth finger left hand; M. x H. X M. X H. right forearm. This convict « u released from Mountjoy Prison on licence, 2nd July, 1692. He reported himself to the Constabulary at Naas, on 6th July, and left for Clonmel on 7th July, but did not report himself at the latter place. His present whereabouts are unknown. If arrested he should be proceeded against under Act 54 and 55 Vic., cap. 69 ( Penal Servitude Act, 1891), section 4, sub- section 1. 4th August, 1892. ( 488 H. O.) Description of articles burglariously taken from off the premises of Mrs Anne Moore, of Ashtown, barony and parish of Castleknook, between 10.30 p. m. on 29th and 7.30 a. m., 30th July. ( 892. viz -— One gold watch with crown, harp, and shamrock engraved on back, maker Donegan, Dame- street, number unknown, has short gold chain attached. Also the following, all of which has the crest " Blackamoor's head " t 4 dozen electro- plated dinner forks; 1 dozen eleotro- platsd small dinner forks; 3 electro- plated punch ladels; 6 electro- plated Boup spoons; 6 silver soup spoons; 8 silver dessert spoens; 1 silver sugar tongs, with initials T. Description of articles, supposed to have been stolen, whioh were found on Frederick Anderson when arrested in Dublin, and who is at present awaiting trial on a charge of larceny of watches at Kiloook Races on 13th June, 1892. Silver double- eased Geneva lever watch, ehro- nometer balance, push- spring gone, No. 146,698, a steel curb chain attached. 2. A patent silver lever watch, nearly new, maker G. M'Cullagb, Tburles, No. 63,522. 3. Gold spade- gainea of reign George III, date 1787, with a small hole in it. 4. A pair of silver- monnted spectacles, scissors, latch- key, two small silver Indian coins, a small American silver coin. Limerick. Description of a donkey, the property of John H. Power, which was stolen off the lands of Rathnasere, parish of Nantinen, and barony of Lower Connello, on or about the 28th July, 1898:— Large gelding donkey, much over ordinary height, dark gray colour, clipped all over, save legs, mane and tail cut short, 8 years old, and value for £ 4. Description of FRANK MARTIN, native of Bath, who stards charged with stealing 600 dollars in American paper notes, and £ 130 in money, on the 16th inttant:— 22 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, dark complexion, black hair ( clean shaved), dark eyes, narrow forehead; wore a black billycock hat, and black rough serge jacket suit; may endeavour to leave the country. Age about 35 or 40 years, height about 5 feet 2 inches, fair sallow complexion, fair moustache and small side whiskers, medium build, was wearing a pair of eye- glasses, and appe ared to be rather deaf; wore a light brown Oxford hat, dark band and rim, light drab covert coat, light tweed trowsers, and had a blue cloth overcoat, velvet collar, with him. Wanted, on a Sheriff's Warrant, for theft of £ 25 :- JAMES GILMOUR, 16 years of age, about 5 feet 4 inches high, well made, dark hair, fresh complexion; good- looking; dressed in a blue serge jacket suit, Lorne shces, and light tweed cap; resided with bis mother at No. 212, Paisly- road, of this city. The accused was a message boy in the employment of James Gemmell and Co., Tea Merchants, Maderia- court, Glasgow, and on 25th instant received the money to pay duty on tea, which he failed to do, but abscorded. Has been at sea for some time, and will probably endeavour to emigrate. ' Please cause diligent search and inquiry to be made for the accused at hotels, shipping offices, and other likely places, and if found arrest, and wire the Chief Constable here, when he will be sent for.
