REGULATIONI T __ All Notices intended for insertion in the Hue- and- Cry are to be transmitted under cover, addressed to the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin < 3astle, authenticated by a Separate Gonminnioation. No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn ; but it is not necessary to ^ forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. Notices respecting all Pelonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated natuae will be inserted. All Descriptions of ]> ersons whose apprehension is sought on a charge of Misdemeanour should be accompanied by a statement that a Warrant has been issued, and by the name of the person in whose hands it is. But the Constabulary should remember that they cannot arrest a person charged with an offence of this • nature unless they have the Warrant in their possession when making the arrest. Should irregularities arise in the delivery of the Hue- and- Ory, it will be necessary to forward one of the covers, or give the number it bears, as without this tnfonmation the mistake cannot bd rectified. Prison and Police Authorities are particularly requested to be . good enough to inform the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, of the abolition of Gaols, Stations, < fcc., and of any circumstances rendering the supply of the " Hue- and- Cry " no longer necessary. De COBAIN, native of Belfast, who stands charged that he did, within the past two years, at Belfast, commit an act of gross indecency with another male person, and wSthin the same time, and at the place aforesaid did incite divers other male persons to commit sodomy :—' Walks erect, square shoulders, corpulent, contracts eyebrows when speaking, gray eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 48 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a silk hat, black Chesterfield overcoat, black frock coat, dark trowsers, and dark vest. Description of JEREMIAH FINEGAN, alias WALTER FERGUSON, native of Stradone, county Cavan, who has been returned for trial on the charge of having, on the night of 29th or morning of 30th April, 1892, in the barony of West Omagh, parish of Skirts of Urney, broken into the Manse in connection with the 2nd Castlederg Presbyterian Church, and stolen therefrom 26 keys and a piece of marble;— Has a good address and appears to have got a good education; blue eyes, straight nose, fair complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 50 years of age, sandy hair turning gray; wore a brown tweed cap, old drab coat, dark tweed trowsers, and black vest; is a tramp. Particulars relative to Convict PATRICK FINN, convicted at Wicklow, on 19thDec. j^^ 7, for rape, and sentenced to 5 years penal servitude jH 5 years of age on conviction, single, is a labourer, born at Dublin, resided at Tullow before conviction, his friends reside at Tullow, and Kilcod, county Wicklow ; dark brown hair, gray eyes, dark brown eyebrows, medium nose, regular mouth, sallow complexion, oval visage, pro- portionate make, 5 feet 4f inchea high ; M. F. A. S. P. F. M. H., anchor, A. S. P. F. and several dots on fore- arm and back of left hand, M. X H. + M. x H. on right forearm. This man was released from Mountjoy Prison, on 11th April, 1892, and went to Man- chester. He reported himself at the Dublin Detective Office on 19th inst. on arrival from Liverpool, and stated he would notify his residence next day, but he has failed to do so, and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under the 5th section of the Act 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112. 26th May, 1892. ( 477 H* C.) Particulars relative to convict JAMES M'DON- NELL o 84, convicted at Dublin City Commission, on 28th Ootober, 1886, for housebreaking and larceny, and sentenced to 7 years' penal servitude ;— 35 years of age on conviction, married, is a labourer, born at Dublin, where he resided before conviction, and where his friends reside; dark bur, hazel eyes, dark brown eyebrows, small nose, small mouth, sallow complexion, round visage, medium make, 5 feet 4 inches high; cut on top of head, ruptured left side. This man was leleased from Maryboro' Prison on licence, 29th February, 1892, and emigrated. H » recently returned, but up to the present has not re- ported himself to the Police, an^ iis whereabouts is unknown. Graves," and gave his address, 7, Albert- road, Brighton, and Holmleigh House, Queen's- road, Reading, which is false, about 27 years ot age, about 5 feet 6 inches high, dark hair with slight dark moustache, ruddy com- plexion with bright colour on cheekbones, gentlemanly appearance, dressed in black morning coat, blue and gray striped trowsers, black Oxford hat, and was wearing brown gloves:— On Friday, 13th instant, a dark chestnut mare, " Sutton," marked white below the bocks on both hind legs; white star on face; height about 15.1 or 2 hands; a set of brass mounted harness, No. 18 on the bridle and pad, and stamped « A. DuPontand a dog- cart, marked " Hunt & Co." on the box of the wheels, punted dark green, picked out with black, with tail- board, dark green clotb cushions, and indiarubber mat, front seat, but no back seat or lamps; whip, maker's name stamped " Sehomberg," snd branded " A. Description of JOHN KANE ( mother's surname Quinn), native of Gorthbrack, Ballycroy, who stands charged with having, at different times between the end of February and 14th April, 1892, in the barony of Erris, parish of Kilcommon, stolen different letters, some containing postal orders, cheques, and money, the property of Stephen F. Prince, Esq., of Claggan, out of a locked letter- bag, used for the conveyance of letters between Claggan and Ballycroy post office:— Speaks hurriedly; gray or blue eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, thin face, slight make, 4 feet 8 or 10 inches high, about 15 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a tweed cap, brown tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a messenger. Description of WILLIAM CONNELL, native of Ardmoyle, who stands charged with having, on the 5th day of May, 1892, in the barony of Middlethird, parish of Saint Patrick's Rock, stolen 4 heifers, the property of Arthur Hugh Smith- Barry, Esquire, at Thurlesbeg >— Small moustache, thin hardy appearance, long nose, pale complexion, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 21 years of age, light brown hair; wore a tweed cap; is a farmer's son. Description of PATRICK MURPHY ( mother's surname Moran, native of Birr, king's County), native of Ballycapple, Cloughjordan, who standi charged with having, on tho 17th March, 1892, at Bantis, in the barony of Upper Ormond, parish ot Ballygibbon, committed a rape on DUBLIN METROPOLITAN POLIO* G Division. Particulars relative to Convict BERNARD BOYLE, convicted at Belfast, county Antrim, on 19th March, 1884, tor larceny from the person, after previous con- viction, and sentenced to 7 years' penal servitude; 51 years of age on conviction, married, is a hackler, born in Belfast, where he resided before conviction, and where his friends reside:— Light brown hair, gray eyes, sandy eyebrows, large nose, large mouth, fresh complexion, oval visage, medinm make, 5 leet 6 inches high; varicose veins in legs, two flags and a gun on left side, B. B. E. B., two flags and anchor on right arm, B. B., Crucifix and heart on left arm, bracelet on each wrist, bald top of head. This man was released from Mountjoy Prison on licence, on 1st April, 1892, and went to Belfast. He left his residence on the 18th ulto. without notify- ing to the Police, and his present whereabouts is un- known. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under sec. 5 of the Act 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112. 26th May, 1892. ( 477 H. C.) Description of J. HITCHINGS, wanted on warrant, for obtaining £ 9 St. at Hove, on the 14th April, 1892, by means ot false cheques on the London and South Western Bank, Finsbury Pavement:— Is a draper's assistant; about 35 years of age, about 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, dark brown hair cut short, dark com- plexion, stout figure, square shoulders, full face, clean shaved; wore a yachting cap, dark brown rough tweed suit. Description of seven head of cattle, the property of Patrick Rogers, of Liss, which were stolen from the lands of Liss, parish of Killanena, barony of Upper Tulla, on tbe 20th day of May, 1892 Five bullocks, red and white colour, 8 years old; value each for £ 7. Two heifers, one all red the other red and white colour, 3 years old; value each for £ 7. Tulla, 23rd May, 1892. ( 15825 a— 1158.) Longford. Description of a heifer, tbe property of Andrew M'Cormack, which was stolen from the lands of Pallasmore, parish of Forgney, barony of Shrule, on the 4th day of May, 1892:— Two years old, mottled white and yellow, greater part white, heavy horns, partly cocked, in low condition, but of strong and big growth; value for £ 8 10*. Description of a horse, the property of William Phelan, of Derrinduff, which was stolen or has strayed from the lands of Derrycarrew, parish of Offerlane, barony of Upperwoods, on or about the 13 th day of April, 1892:— Dark brown Ally, 2 years old, white star on forehead; value for about £ 14. Description of a yearling heifer and yearling bullock, the property of Robert Cormack, whioh were stolen from the lands of Boulentlea, parish of Ballingarry, barony of Slievardagh, on the night of 5th or morning of 6th May, 1892:— Yearling heifer, red, with white heart on forehead, large wart on right eyelid, one on jaw bone under the right ear, crust of warts under throat, and both sides of neck; in fair condition. Stolen, or taken away by mistake, between 3 and 4.30 pan., on Thursday, the 12th May, 1892, from Messrs. Speedie Brothers' Auction Mart, situated in Wallsce- street, in the burgh of Stirling, two heifers of the following description, viz.:— 1. A two- year- old heifer, cross- bred between Ayr- shire and Shorthorn, roan coloured, small size, and in fair condition; value, £ i Ss. 2. A two- year- old heifer, crcss bred between Ayr- shire and Shorthorn, of a bluish colour, small size, and in iair condition; value, £ 4 6s. Police Officers are respectfully requested to make search and enquiry at farmers, cattle- dealers, fleshers, slaughter- houses, railway stations, and other likely places, with a view to trace tbe above described cattle, and should any trace of the same be obtained to com- municate with the subscriber. Description of a silver cup, plate, and spoon, the property of Venerable Archdeacon James George Scott, which were stolen out of his house at Bray Great, parish of Bray, barony of Rathdown, on the night of tbe 8th or morning ot the 9th of April, 1892: — A small silver cup, 8$ or 4 inches high, nearly hemispherical on a hexagonal foot, and a knot on middle of upright, engraved with " I. H. S." and other ornaments, gilt, but gilding was much worn; a silver plate, Bimilar to foot or stand of cup, but 3 inches wider in diameter, the centre of it gilt, but gilding was much worn, engraved on it " L H. 8.;" a small silver spoon for administering Sacrament in extreme cases, 3 inches long, and a cross on the top of the handle.
