Me Description can be inserted unless an Information shall hare been Sworn; but it is not neoessarr I* forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. Notions res poo ting all Felonies and suoh Misdemeanours as are of aa aggravated nature will be inserted. All Descriptions of persons whose apprehension is sought on a charge of Misdemeanour should be aooompanled by a statement that a Warrant has been Issued, sad by the name of the person in whose hands it is. But the Constabulary should remember that they cannot arrest a person charged with an offence of thfe aature unless they have the Warrant in their possession when making the arrest. Should irregularities arise in the delivery of the Hue- and- Ory, it will be neoessary to forward ons of the covers, or give the number it bears, as without this Information the mistake cannot be rectified. Prison and Polioe Authorities are particularly requested to be good enough to inform the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, of the abolition of Gaols, Stations, 4c., and of any eircumstanoes rendering the supply of the " Hue- and- Cry " no longer neoessary. Description of PATRICK JOYCE ( mother's sur- name Donlan), who stands charged with having, on the 7th of April, 1892, in the barony of Ballymoe, parish of Dunmore, committed a rape on Mary Cunningham:— Short side whiskers which are fair, pray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, thin worn face, slight make, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, about 31 years of age, brown straight hair: wore a round hard black hat, dark tweed coat, tweed trowsers and vest; is a blacksmith. DE COBAIN, native of Belfast, who stands charged that he did, within the past two years, at Belfast, commit an act of gross indecency with another male person, and within the same time, and at the place aforesaid did incite divers other male persons to commit sodomy:— Walks erect, square shoulders, corpulent, contracts eyebrows when speaking, gray eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, foil faco, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 48 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a silk hat, Mack Chesterfield overcoat, black frock coat, dark trowsers, and dark vest. Description of A MAN, name and native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 4th day of April, 1892, in the barony of Ballybritt, parish of Birr, stolen a watch and £ 1 from Joseph Lewis of Parsonstown :— Fair complexion, fair face, medium make, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 20 yean of age, fair hair; wore a pepper- and- salt colour tweed cap with ear flaps, tweed coat, trowsers, and • est < is a tramp s looks like a discharged soldier; will likely enlist. Particulars of CHABLES ROUND, of Lord- street, Liverpool, who was convicted on 1st March, of having, on 20th October, 1891, obtained, by false pretences, a sum of money from Edward Hunt, pro- vision dealer, Parsonstown, and sentenced to 18 months' imprisonment, as it is believed he has also defrauded numbers of traders throughout the country, it is requested that the Police will cause the necessary inquiries to be made amongst small dealers in earthen- ware and others. He represented himself to be a commission agent for various pottery firms in England, and also traded as the " Staffordshire Earthenware and Hardware Company," a firm which exists in name only, and on receipt of money fails to forward the goods. In some instances where the orders were for small amounts, he forwarded the goods for the purpose, presumably, of getting larger orders. Description of PATBICK SMITH, native of Killeen, who stands charged with having, on the 19th April, 1892, in the barony of Granard, parish of Granard, dangerously assaulted Robert M'Carty, whereby one of his legs was broken:— Walks erect, wears all his beard which is dark brown; prominent wild eyes, small cocked nose, dark complexion, oval face, slight make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 26 years of age, dark brown hair; dark brown tweed coat, corduroy trowsers, dark brown vest; is a farm servant. Description of ROBERT COPELAND, native of Glasgow, who stands charged with having, on the 4th March, 1892, in the barony of Ardagh, parish of Templemichael, wilfully illtreated, neglected, or caused or procured the ill treatment of Agnes Copeland, a child under the age of 16 years, in his custody:— Slightly bow- legged, walks erect, delicate appearance, small fair side whiskers; gray or blue eyes, slightly cocked nose, pale compleaiin, regular face, slight make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 30 years of age, fair hair; wore a black coat, light trowsers, dark vest; is a guttapercha shoemaker or jobber. Description of JOHN KANE ( mother's surname Quinn), native of Gorthbrack, Ballycroy, who stands charged with having, at different times between the end of February and 14th April, 1892, in the barony of Erris, parish of Kiloommon, stolen different letters, some containing postal orders, cheques, and money, the property of Stephen F. Prince, Esq., of Claggan, out of a locked letter- bag, used for the conveyance of letters between Claggan and Ballycroy post officer- Speaks hurriedly; gray or blue eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, thin face, slight make, 4 feet 8 or 10 inches high, about 15 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a tweed cap, brown tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a messenger. ( 15771 c.— lioa) Description of THADY TAYLOR ( mother' surname Gallagher), native of Barnacogue, who stands charged with having, on the 5th day of May, 1892, in the barony of Costello, parish of Kilbeagh, stolen a male ass, the property of Luke Snee, ot Barnacogue, which he sold at the market of Kiltemagh on 5th inst.; the ass has been recovered:— Gray eyes, ordinary nose, dark complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, about 19 years of age, dark hair; wore a dark brown sack coat, dark striped trowsers, and dark brown vest; is a labourer. Description of THOMAS LYNCH ' mother's surname Regan), native of Cloontower, who stands charged with having, on the morning of the 11th of April, 1892, in the barony of Ballintubber North, parish of Tarmonbarry, who unlawfully attacked the dwellinghouse of Patrick Sheeran, of Cloonofwer:— Brown eyes, thin sharp nose, fresh complexion, long thin face, slight make, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, about 22 years of sge, brown hair; wore a hard felt hat, tweed coat, trowsers, and vest, gray colour; is a labourer. Description of WILLIAM CONNELL, native of Ardmoyle, who stands charged with having, on the 5th dtoy of May, 1892, in the barony of Middlethird, parish of Saint Patrick's Rock, stolen 4 heifers, the property of Arthur Hugh Smith- Barry, Esquire, at Thurlesbeg:— Small moustache, thin hardy appearance, loi g nose, pale complexion, 5 feet 7 inches high, ar out 21 years of age, light brown hair; w. re a tweed cap; is a farmer's son. ( 15530 1006 ) Description of PATRICK MURPHY ( mother's surname Moron, native of Birr, King's County), native of Ballycapple, Cloughjordan, who stands charged with having, on the 17th March, 1892, at Bantis, in the barony of Upper Ormond, parish of Ballygibbon, committed a rape on Ellen Guilfoyle, aged 75 years:— Round shoulders, shaves all his face except small side whiskers which are sandy, gray eyes, rather flat note, fresh complexion, broad face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 32 years of age, brown hair; wore a slouched black hat, blue tweed coat, trowsers, and vest,; is a farmer's son; will likely endeavour to emigrate. Description of KATE WHITE ( mother's surname Margaret White), native of Dromore, who stands charged with having, on the 11th day of May, 1892, in the barony of East Omagh, parish of Dromore, concealed the birth of her female infant, and by neglect and exposure caused its d eath:— Brown eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet higb, about 25 years of age, black hair; wore a black hat, dark dress, and black jacket; is a servant. Description of JEREMIAH FINEGAN, alias WALTER FERGUSON, native of Stradone, county Cavan, who has been returned for trial on the charge of having, on the night of 29th or morning of 30th April, 1892, in the barony of West Omagh, parish of Skirts of Urney, broken into the Manse in connection with the 2nd Castlederg Presbyterian Church, and stolen therefrom 26 keys and a piece of marble;— Has a good address and appears to have got a good education; blue eyes, straight nose, fair complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 50 years of age, sandy hair turning gray ; wore a brown tweed cap, old drab coat, dark tweed trowsers, and black vest; is a tramp. THOMAS CASHEL ( stealing postal order), Hue- and- Cry, 16th February, 1892, not arrested. ( 12255 c.— 94555.) DUBLIN METROPOLITAN FOLIOS. G Division. Particulars relative to convict JAMES M'DON- NELL c 84, convicted at Dublin City Commission, on 28th October, 1886, for housebreaking and larceny, and sentenced to 7 years' penal servitude ;— 35 years of age on conviction, married, is a labourer, born at Dublin, where he resided before conviction, and where bis friends reside; dark hair, hazel eyes, dark brown eyebrows, small nose, small mouth, sallow complexion, round visage, medium make, 5 feet 4 inches high; cut on top of head, ruptured left side. This man was teleased from Maryboro'^ fcfc on licence, 29th February, 1892, and emig^^ KHe recently returned, but up to the present hfiW^ re- ported himself to the Police, and his whereabouts is unknown. Paflknlars relative to Convict JOHN JAMES MOR RTY, o 75, convicted at the Dublin Com- mifwP^ Bburt, on 10th August, 1886, for embezzle- ment, 91 sentenced to 7 years' penal servitude:— 88 years of age on conviction, single, is a bank clerk, born at Dublin, resided at Dublin before conviction, where his friends reside:— Brown hair, blue eyes, brown eyebrows, regular nose, small mouth, fair com- plexion, round visage, stout make, 5 feet 9^ inches night burn- mark between right thumb and finger, lost an upper front tooth. This man was released on licence from Mount- joy Prison, 9th November, 1891, and went to reside at 28, Upper Temple- street, Dublin. He recently left his residence without notifying same to the Police, and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under sec. 5 of the Act 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112. 14th March, 1892. ( 464 H. C.) Sussex. Stolen, by a man who signed his name " H. Greves," and gave his address, 7, Albert- road, Brighton, and Holmleigh House, Qneen's- road, Reading, which is false, about 27 years of age, about 5 feet 6 inches high, dark hair with slight dark moustache, ruddy com- plexion with bright colour on cheekbone?, gentlemanly appearance, dressed in black morning coat, blue and gray striped trowsers, black Oxford hat, and was wearing brown gloves:— On Friday, 13th instant, a dark chestnut mare, " Sutton," marked white below the locks on both hind legs; white Bt « r on face; height about 15.1 or 2 bands; a set of brass- mounted harness, No. 18 on the bridle and pad, and stamped " A. DuPont " and a dog cart, marked " Hunt & Co." on the box of the wheels, painted dark green, picked out with black, with tail- board, dark green cloth cushions, and indiarubber mat, front seat, but no back seat or lamps; whip, maker's name stamped " Sohomberg," and branded " A. DuPont, Brighton." Warrant issned. Information to Major TEEVAN, Chief Constable. Chief Constable's Office, Hove, 16th May, 1892. ( 475 *. c.) Description of J. HITCHINGS, wanted on warrant, for obtaining £ 9 6s. at Hove, on the 14th April, 1892, by means of false cheques^ on the London and South Western Bank, Finsbury Pavement:— Is a draper's assistant; about 85 years of age, about 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, dark brown hair cut short, dark com plexion, stout figure, square shoulders, full face, clean shaved; wore a yachting cap, dark brown rough tweed suit. Description of a yearling heifer and yearling bullock, the property of Robert Cormack, whioh were stolen from the lands of Boulentlea, parish of Ballingarry, barony of Slievardagh, on the night of 5th or morning of 6th May, 1892:— Yearling heifer, red, with white heart on forehead, large wsrt on right eyelid, one on jaw bone under the right ear, crust of warts under throat, and both sides of neck; in fair condition. Stolen, or taken away by mistake, between 3 and 4.30 p. m., on Thursday, the 12th May, 1892, from Messrs. Speedie Brothers' Auction Mart, situated in Wallace- street, in the burgh of Stirling, two heifers of the following description, viz. :— 1. A two- year- old heifer, cross- bred between Ayr- shire and Shorthorn, roan coloured, small size, and in fair condition; value, £ 1 6s. 2. A two- year- old heifer, crcss bred between Ayr- shire and Shorthorn, of a bluish colour, small eizs, and in fair condition; value, £ 4 6s. Police Officers are respectfully requested to make search and enquiry at farmers, cattle- dealers, fleshers, slaughter- houses, railway stations, and other likely places, with a view to trace the above described cattle, and should any trace of the same be obtained to com- municate with the subscriber. Description of a silver cup, plate, and spoon, tho property of Venerable Archdeacon James George Scott, which were stolen out of his honse at Bray Great, parish of Bray, barony of Rathdown, on the night of the 8th or morning of the 9th of April, 1892: — A small silver cup, or 4 inches high, nearly hemispherical on a hexagonal foot, and a knot on middle of upright, engraved with " I. H. S." and other ornaments, gilt, but gilding was much worn; a silver plate, similar to foot or stand of cup, but 3 inches wider in diameter, the centre of it gilt, but gilding was much worn, engraved on it (( I. H. S.;" a small silver spoon for administering Sacrament in extreme cases, 3 inches long, and a cross on the top of the handle.
